We came here for my daughter's 16th birthday, based on the reviews. This food is excellent! The service was great. The ambience is chill, there was an upbeat music playing in the background. The seating area is aesthetic. They have cool lighting and decor. As an appetizer we ordered Somosa (5/5). For entrees, we ordered spicy butter chicken (5/5), spicy chicken tikki masala (5/5), basmati rice (5/5), garlic naan (5/5) and cheese naan (5/5). For drinks we tried a Strawberry Lassi (3/5). The strawberry lassi was a little syrupy, didn't mix well with the food. But worth the try. Overall, great experience! We'll be back.

Ok Modesto on NY's day! Reservation made for 5pm and we were a few minutes late but to our surprise, our table was ready for us and I mean literally ready, place stetting and all. Points for that! We ordered Chai tea and veggies Samosa,, both were very good. Samosa crust was super flaky and the filling very tasty, had it with the mango chutney. We ordered family style, tandoori chicken tikka, butter chicken, lamb biryani, garlic naan (they are not stingy with it either) saag aloo, Chana masala and chicken curry. What a feast the 4 of us had and there were leftovers. Eve thing is authentically prepared, no fast food business here! The flavors, right amount of spice, and the meat all cooked to perfection. Not an unhappy customer at our table! Will definitely revisit when I come back to Modesto. Vibe was quite and you can speak to others without yelling, nice feel Eve if you come alone. Hands down Tandoori Flame is my newest fav when I want Indian food. I live in NY and have a plethora of restaurants to choose from so forgive my excitement about this place.

Another show at the Gallo. Another meal needed. Let's try someplace new! Tandoori Flame has some positive ratings. It's right across the street. Let's go! Before entering, there was a sign outside and another taped to the window offering Government Officials and Healthcare Workers a 20% discount. We stepped in and were greeted at the register. We were handed menus and told to take any table that we wanted. Shortly thereafter, we were brought glasses, a carafe of water and set-ups. When it was time to place our order, I asked about the Discount and was told that any Government Official or Healthcare Worker with an identification card would receive the discount. Cool. I showed the server my ID Card and he said that it was acceptable. We ordered: Mango Lassi & Strawberry Lassi - 5 - both were very good and refreshing without being overly sweet. Vegetable Samosa - 5 - two conical Samosas with two different sauces. I cut my Samosa in 1/2 and tried both sauces, a different one on each 1/2. Tandoori Roti - 3 - We were following another yelpers suggestion that the Roti would be lighter than Naan. It was okay but nothing at all like Malaysian Roti. I think that we would have enjoyed the Naan more. Malabari Fish Curry - 5 - We ordered this dish medium spicy, and it was perfect. Just enough heat to open up my pores but not so much that I was on fire all night. The sauce was perfect for either the Roti or the Basmati Rice that we ordered. The fish was tender and cooked well. Aloo Gohbi - 5 - The perfect blend of Cauliflower and Potato and spices. Also ordered medium spicy, this is one of those dishes that I can graze on all night long. When we were done, the server was surprised that we didn't need any boxes for leftovers. We ordered so there wouldn't be any. Had we been staying the night locally at a hotel with a refrigerator, we may have order two more dishes to add variety. We were told to pay up at the register. No bill was presented. The cashier rang us up and had me scan my credit card. The only receipt that he handed me was a transaction receipt. I asked for and he printed out a detailed receipt and the 20% discount was missing. I would guess that from the time I asked at the beginning of the meal and when we finally left, he inadvertently forgotten to punch it in. When I pointed out the error, he quickly pulled out a calculator and asked if it was okay if he returned my 20% in cash. Yes.

SO good! We stopped for lunch on our way to Fresno. The buffet was super tasty, but maybe a little veggie light. 3 chicken dishes, one potato, and one paneer. All we yummy, but I wish we could have had a sag paneer, daal, or other veg curry. Samosas were delish. Chili potatoes on point. Veggie pakora some of the best this side of India! Chai was perfection. The space is funky, clean, and the booths are comfy. The service was prompt and our water was always full. Strangely they let our plates pile up until the end, maybe that was to show us how many trips we made, but I prefer them gone soon

Fresh tasty Indian Cuisine! Brought my wife here on a date. It's right in the downtown Modesto area. Plenty of parking. It's a nice little place with nice decor. We were surprised it wasn't more busy being it was a Saturday night, we were able to get a table right away. The server was very polite. The food took a little bit to come out, understandable. I'll wait a little longer for fresh hot food. Played it safe and went with dishes I am familiar with, we ordered the butter chicken and the Chicken Tikka masala and got both mild spicy which was the perfect balance. Haven't enjoyed a meal like this in an awhile, every bite was full of flavor! There are quite a few Indian Cuisine places but I will say this place is legit! Will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

FANTASTIC!! Best Indian food I've had! Well other than some home cooking by friends. My friend took me here while visiting and I ordered the Mango Lassi. When it came, I was stunned by how gorgeous it was and my friend, who is Indian, explained they put rose syrup around the inside of the glass. It was delightful and their lassi is much lighter than most and I loved that. So often, while I like the beverage, they can be too thick and heavy with a meal. Alas we were so hungry & eager to dig in when the food came that I forgot to take pictures. Hmm not to mean they were slow, as our meal came out in a short time. We had the Tandori Roti and theirs is flaky and so flavorful. I usually only order naan, which I love, but it's just so heavy. But this Roti was far superior to others I've had. We ordered Baingan Bhartha which was quite good. The Malai Kofta and Butter Chicken stole the show though with their perfect melody of so many flavors in each dish creating a harmonious dance on your tongue hitting all the receptors. We ordered the Butter Chicken medium spice level and the other two dishes mild. When I'm Back in Modesto again, I'd dial each dish up another level I think. Located across the street from the Gallo Theater for when you're in the area for fun and just down the street from Court House if you're not having fun, but need good food to sustain you. Chai tea was our dessert - again, perfect! Prices were very fair. Service was phenomenal. The guys were all cordial, helpful and attentive without being pesky.

This place is hands down the best Indian food I've had in Modesto. You must try the Samosas Chat, butter chicken and the mango lassi drink. Oooooof! If you're craving Indian, look no further. Emy was such a wonderful server, he was extremely attentive & so happy to be serving us. Thank you for such a great experience.

one of our favorite places to eat in general in modesto, super good the buffet is very good deal & butter chicken very good, we ordered more after this picture & the server is very nice & attentive & even tells me how many minutes untill meal comes out. Coming here for valentines day without a doubt

I gotta tell you, this place always delivers!! I have been all over the U.S., tried many different versions of "Indian food" and this place is one of my top 3! I have never experienced such friendly service, delicious food, and amazing atmospheres all in the same place. Usually you get two, but here it's all three! I obviously love the butter chicken and palak paneer, but just ask for other recommendations and their VERY helpful staff will guide you in the right direction. I even received this delicious Mango drink as a courtesy!

Looking for another culinary adventure brought us to Tandoori Flame. It has a high rating on Yelp so it's worth giving it a try. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. We should've heed his advice when he said we would be good with medium spice as the mild spice was too watered down for us. I guess we'd have to go back for that. The butter chicken and lamb vindaloo was on point: the chicken biryani, though, was lacking. I don't know if it was because we ordered mild spice or something else. I didn't see any coriander seeds and there big cuts of onion and green pepper which I don't remember in my previous encounters with this dish. I will not pass judgement on this dish for now. Definitely would have to give it another try. The mango lassi was refreshing. The ambience is casual. The restaurant itself is small so if going in big groups, may need to make a reservation. We went for dinner but saw some chaffing dishes by the entrance. So they may have lunch buffet. Worth to inquire with the restaurant about that .
