Not sure what bs I saw prior about someone giving this place 3 stars because they dont have a liquor license and couldn't satisfy a lush. This place is awesome. Courteous service from the reception to the waitstaff. The food is authentic, carefully and thoughtfully spiced and just really fresh and delicious. We got the lamb vindaloo, chicken biryani and cheese naan. It was easy to order, only waited 10ish min and was given all the necessary utensils, sauces, napkins etc. The iced tea was fresh and they gladly gave me extra lemons. The bathrooms were clean, one sink defunct but not a big deal. Its quite spacious and you can elect to eat outdoors or indoors. There's not much of a view however there's no bugs and you can watch a beautiful sky roll through with peace and calm. This is a great family owned Pakistani restaurant with excellent food and a very pleasant outside deck. I had the chicken vindaloo (spice level 8/10) and it sure had kick. They didn't hold back, as I requested. The vindaloo had great flavor, in addition to the spice, and the chicken was not dry at all. They also gave a nice helping of rice pilaf. The Roti was spot on and not too oily. The family was incredibly friendly and service was prompt. You order inside at the register and they bring your food to you. The only issue I had is that the place needs some serious maintenance. The bathrooms inside were not well cared for. That's the only reason I had to take off a star. Definitely worth visiting, as long as you don't need a bathroom. Remember to tip well. read more

Lemonade was a tad sweet, but the Samosa Chat, Garlic Naan, Curry Lamb, Chicken Tiki Marsala and Chicken Biryani were all on point with any Indian restaurant in New York City. Stopped here on our trip to Lake George. It's one of the only Indian cuisines in the area. The service was a bit lacking as you have to order at the counter and seat yourself. This is a very big restaurant, but it doesn't have many customers. We paid before eating, but the employees asked us multiple times if we already paid. Tea was $4 it was so disgusting and that how they just gave us five pieces chicken nuggets instead of chicken tenders. I stopped in for dinner at Tandoori Grill in Lake George recently. Since it was off-season, the place was very quiet and I was the only customer in the dining room for most of my dinner time here. I had an BOGO Free Entertainment Book coupon (up to $13 value) to use here, which I presented upon ordering and they honored it. For dinner I ordered the Shrimp Masala ($15.99) and Vegetable Korma ($12.99), both serve with rice and fresh baked naan. I was asked on a scale from 1 to 10 on how spicy I wanted my food. I was given a full pitcher of water (not cold) and a glass. The food took about 25 minutes to be served to my table, as I was checking social media on my phone to pass the time. The food was serve nice and hot. The shrimp masala had very small shrimp with the tails still attached, so I had to pull off the shell tail off each shrimp making a small mess. This dish was okay The vegetable korma had good flavors and the vegetables cooked soft. The rice was good, and the hot naan was good as well. While I was eating, a family of four with two boys arrived and were seated behind me. The kids and the parents had a small heated discussion on what to order between the chicken biryani and the paneer dishes. The kids sounded like they know their Indian food. I finished all of my food, then requested the check. The total before tax and discount was $27.98 for two dinners. They took off $13 off of the check including the taxable portion of the $13, making the new pretax total $14.98. However, they added an 8% meals tax ($1.20), which should be a 7% meals tax ($1.05) in Warren County and they also tacked on a 3.99% Customer Service Charge ($0.60)???? Anyways, I based my tip on a rounded up $30 dinner value and included the service charge as part of the tip. read more

I can here for an early dinner with my mom and grandma. They had been here before and wanted me to try it. We ordered several appetizers and one entree and it was more than enough food for us. We kept a menu just in case we were hungry. We got vegetarian samosas, pakoras, cheese naan, and a the chickpea salad - Chana chat (mb). For an entree we got palak paneer. Everything was tasty. The highlights were the pakoras and the cheese naan. I bet the garlic naan is good. I'll try that next time. Entrees are served with plain naan and rice. When we arrived there was only one other table. Then we were alone for the rest of our meal. Prices are decent and serving sizes are good. I wish they had more business. The service was fine and the staff were friendly. Suggestion - get rid of the styrofoam takeout containers and replace them with something better for the environment. After reading more negative reviews than positive, I was skeptical. We gave the restaurant a try and were pleasantly impressed by the flavors of the food. We ordered a vegetable korma (tasted like spring?) Channa masala, and palak paneer; a cheese naan (a hit with the kids) and a whoopsie too spicy bullet naan. The service was friendly. Seemed to be a mother and son running the front and of house. For all the negative reviews; it seems they're making an effort to improve. So here's the story, we reached around 11:30 AM to have our lunch at this place since we thought of having some good food. On google map it was showing open and closes at 10:00 PM. When we reached there, a lady came out and said can't you see the OPEN sign is not on. No lady, we did not, because we have already checked the google maps which says it is open. So better you sync your "OPEN" sign with the maps as well. And at least learn to be polite with the customers. read more

Ordered chicken handi, chicken kadhai and paneer jalfrezi last night with few breads and indian tea to go. The food was far below average and the chicken was just boiled in water with some spices. There was no difference between the gravies. This review is based solely on the food. Our party of 5 ordered the following, spicy: Chicken Tikka, Chicken Karhai, Chicken Makhani and Naan. The boneless Chicken Karhai is one of the best I've had, flavorful with the right amount of spice level we requested. The Chicken Tikka, albeit thigh meat, also had great flavor. The Chicken Makhani (Butter Chicken) wasn't as spicy but I don't think it's supposed to be. The Naan were soft and tasty, but I would say average. Overall the pros, the food, outweighed the cons, the ambiance. The restaurant needs a lot of updating, but if you can get past that, the food is delicious and worth the trip. read more

One of the worst experience I have ever faced. This place is nasty, service is bad, I waited 20 mins for the waitor to come and take my order. They hired one Asian kid who does everything. Poor kid was running everywhere including taking orders, cleaning tables, cleaning floor and bringing food for 8 tables. After ordering the food expect to wait at least 40 minutes, mine came in 52 mins. There are spiderwebs everywhere, no soap at restroom, dustbin is open with paper towels coming out of it. Food is hit or miss, I really liked the chicken kadai and lamb vindaloo was really good 10/10 for that. Buttermilk was stale and smelly, tandoor platter was dry and you can easily figure out that its at least 2-3 days old and just being reheated. Honestly I was scared that I might get sick after drinking that buttermilk. At the end the owner gave me the discount on thar bittermilk. I'll never go or recommend this place to anyone unless they clean the restaurant, get rid of all the spiderwebs, clean the restroom and hire at least 2 more waitor to help that poor kid. read more

Visit Date: September 4, 2015 When hubby and I noticed an Indian restaurant in Lake George we wanted to try it. Although the food was just okay, the staff was very friendly and helpful. When we went in they had a buffet set up of different food to eat. The owner told us that they have a buffet usually for the busy tourists summer season but if you come to lake george on the off season they serve dishes off the menu. I'd like to come back here and be served off the menu one time. The buffet was okay, it wasn't great but not bad either. The naan bread was different from what I was used to but it was good and the mango lassi was good too. I would probably come back here again if we visited Lake George again. read more

This would've been a better experience, except that the head chef (or owner?) aggressively walked over to our table when we mentioned that the Dal Tadka we ordered tasted awful, and got very defensive - only to agree to replace the dish at the end of it all. If the goal was to replace the dish, I don't understand why this person stormed out of the kitchen to our table and tried to explain something that made little sense, with an aggressive tone and demeanor. Due to COVID, we were unable to sit indoors but rather indoors. I was actually very pleased with the ambiance of the outdoor seating. It was very spacious and the lights were really stunning during the evening time especially. I ordered the chicken tikka masala (which I definitely recommend) it's creamy and your tastebuds will be having it's own party. The spice scale ranged from 1-10, but I'm not a fan of too much spice so I went with a 3 and it was perfect. The rice could have been a bit more moist but overall was delicious. The naan and chicken sheesh was also very delicious and a great dip with the chicken tikka sauce! I would also recommend the mango lassi because it's a nice sweet drink to cool down the spice. The only thing I noticed both the gravy tasted similar but taste was very good and Daal Tadka was outstanding. One more thing I want to suggest is to have bigger plates for main course.
