Another lost and hard to find Glens Falls gem! A vegetarian wet dream with carnivore options, Alif Cafe is Pakistani Street food at its best! Chicken was easily the most tender I've ever had in a Restaurant, with great portion sizes. Service is quick, takeout available. Coffee is next level!!! A must try.

It's fine. Just fine. It's not bad. It's not amazing. The food is made to order. I guess it's OK. The place is weirdly lit. There are semi-comfortable chairs around utilitarian tables. They're fine. I suppose you could take kids here. You order at the counter, pay first, and then go find a place to sit. In about 15-20 minutes they bring your food to the table. The drinks (Gatorade, iced tea) are in a cooler next to the register. They ask for the tip before they bring your food, and no one checks on you to see if you need anything or if you liked it. It's fine though. Just fine. You can leave your plate on the table when you leave. It's like a takeout place but they let you eat it inside if you're so inclined. The rice tasted and had the consistency of clumpy Uncle Ben's 90-second bag rice. It's fine. Just fine. The chicken in the butter chicken dinner was over cooked and dry, but not bad. The sauce was delicious but the rest of the dish..... meh. It's fine. Just fine. It's not expensive: $12-16 for a dish of food. Here's the deal: go here. You will not be amazed at the quality, the service, the ambience, the decor, the staff.... But DO try it. You might say "Turns out I kinda like Glens Falls' boring interpretation of Indian food". Don't go here for a first date or with picky kids. Don't go here with a large group. Just go with one or two other people to TRY it. You'll be fine. Just fine.

Cool environment great simple food In a great spot in Glenn's falls across for downtown social

It was an ok experience .. had some food and masala chai. Was a lil expensive but atleast we got some Desi food and drink. Chai had a lil more masala.. wasn't the same as in NJ or Edison, but ok for the location . Parking is a problem in peak seasons.. liked the overal visit though ..

Great espresso! Had it on 2 occasions when I was here vacationing. First day the espresso was 5 star second day 4 star. Still very good but not as much flavor, could have been a variation in the process but overall delicious and the customer service was great. They also have hand rolled ice cream! A definite must try. It's located on the right side of the street across from the steam boat.

Stopped by this cute cafe while strolling Lake George. Ordered the Cold Masala Chai and it had the perfect amount of tea. Saud, the owner, was super friendly and explained all his teas to us. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

The Roti was spot on and not too oily. The family was incredibly friendly and service was prompt. You order inside at the register and they bring your food to you. The only issue I had is that the place needs some serious maintenance. The bathrooms inside were not well cared for. That's the only reason I had to take off a star. Definitely worth visiting, as long as you don't need a bathroom. Remember to tip well.

It is an open Kitchen mostly takeout place with several booths/tables for dine in, if wanted. Ordered for pickup: Chicken Bihari Boti, six pieces Lamb Curry with Rice The chicken was very tender and delicious. A small salad was included. I would order this dish again even though the menu has many enticing items. The Lamb Curry included a tasty, flavorful white rice that complemented the curry well. The owner included extra sauces including a Mint-Yogurt one that was delicious. I should have ordered one of the many varieties of Naan, and next time I will. Check out their menu. The owner greeted you with a smile. Two others prepared the food. While another customer (Gyros) and I waited for our orders at 11:30 am (I arrived early), the owner served us a sample of their Kheer after asking us if we had a milk allergy. This traditional Indian Rice dessert was far superior in flavor and texture to what I have eaten at other local restaurants that serve it. (Kheer is a creamy, traditional dessert made by simmering rice with whole milk, sugar, and aromatics like cardamom and saffron.) The owner even included a complimentary serving of Kheer with my order. Nice! They thank you for your order when you leave. The restaurant was pristine including the recently washed windows. Parking is plentiful. I want to order food from here for my family who likes this cuisine.

The menu is pretty extensive for the seemingly small kitchen space you can see behind the counter. My vegetable samosas (2) were piping hot and had a decent amount of "not potato" in them, accompanied by 2 sauces. The Chicken Tikka Masala Bowl includes a generous amount of well-prepared rice. Normally I pass on rice except as a vehicle for sauce, but I finished this. The sauce had a reasonably deep red color and an enjoyable spicy flavor, maybe a little less tomato flavor than I've had elsewhere, but still quite good. Naan, wrapped in foil, is fresh and hot, but not necessarily crisp. Flavored naans will have the flavors as a stuffing. My mango lassi was excellent - I almost wanted to steal a larger milkshake cup from nearby Herbie's and ask for that to be filled up instead. All in all, if you are looking for an Indian meal while at Galleria 7, you will be very satisfied here.

Let me just start by saying that Authentic Pakistani food is greasy, they do have oily puddle in their curry. That oily puddle deep or shallow is called "Taaree". If you ever visit Lahore, you gotta go to the andoronay Lahore, old Lahore basically and every small restaurant you will go to has some oily greasy side to it. All you gotta do it, pour it out or use paper towel to soak oil out of your dish. That's all. Pakistani/Indian dishes are not the healthiest kind but of course you can make any Desi (Pakistani/Indian/ Bangla) dish healthy if you make it at home, with very little or no oil. Or use coconut OR any other oil substitute. Ordering a take out is a treat for most of the population, so unless you are going to just settle with little bit oily dish then what's the point. Just grab a paper towel and get rid of the excess oil and still enjoy the Authentic Pakistani dish. I am just a customer at Spice and Beyond and I understand that they might not be perfect but they are doing a pretty good job of bringing part of Pakistan to New York. Have a wonderful day.

Have had it at the Troy Farmer's Market & at the Student Union & for all their effort in making it, with 10 ingredients including mustard greens & bok choy, there is zero flavor. (Tried Chicken & tofu orders) The pad thai sauce needs some umami, fish sauce, tamarind? I'm not sure. Pad Thai is not supposed to be spicy, so I am confused as to everyone ordering it, & being asked a spice level. Maybe the spic covers up the non-sauce that the noodles are tossed in? I even trekked up to the student union to pick up lunch one day, and asked for extra Tamarind sauce. I got a dollop of brown sauce on top, that tasted like extra salty. Hoisin sauce. And then some more further down in the bowl. Such a disappointment, I couldn't eat all that salt, threw it out. Should I ask for "extra Thai flavor" next time? Really don't know. **Pad Thai is not a Spicy dish friends.** 2nd: Definitely go for: A Rice Bowl with -the string beans. Crispy with a kick of spice -the beets at the Farmer's Market. Never thought I would finish off beets, but this will convert you. I crave this! Too bad they don't have it at the RPI Student Union during the week. -green curry chicken is not bad. Spice comes on a little bit later. -The Mango Lassi is $4.(average since coffee & battenkill milk costs about the same at the Mkt.) A nice option to have, Mike said that it's made with rose water. Needs a bit more cardamom. -Had a nice to-go cold peanut noodle chicken noodle bowl from the RPI Student Union. They're now on a new remodeled floor at the Union, the menu looks smaller. Maybe it will take some time to build it back up, or they may not have the room for extras. -always fun seeing their homemade ice cream flavors according to the holiday. Very creative & fun chefs. Follow their Facebook for updates. So, too bad I had to average out my review to 3 stars for TMC, but the Pad Thai is very disappointing. My mother bought one & didn't like it either & she's more forgiving with food. Yet customers seem to really like it. Get schooled on Pad Thai at Sukothai in Albany folks!
