Nala's is pretty good, not my favorite but it curbs the cravings for Indian food! My main issue is the prices are a little high, it's like $16-18 for one small-ish entree, and the chicken 65 app I got for $10 was also like 3-4 pieces. The flavors were authentic enough though. They have lots of seating inside, and a pretty good size lot out front! They had the order ready in about 10 mins after I made it so they're pretty quick. Dismal! Not sure where to start. The restaurant is hidden and does not have proper signs to enter. We were welcomed to an empty restaurant with fruit flies and moths As a welcome dish, they gave a basket of fryums, they looked colorful but were bathed in high amounts of salt. My order: Sizzling tikka with Paneer Meen polichathu Madurai parota with veg salna The paneer looked great, presentation was amazing but it did not have any salt! It was not consumable without the side chutney but that was running and not thick in consistency. The meen polichathu was so bitter and gave me a puke. It also had blood stains so the fish wasn't prepped well. The parota was alright not bad but the salna was average. We raised a complaint but not sure if they bothered nor they even understood what our issue was. They offered us not to pay but still we wanted to pay for at least one dish. This just reminded that I had already ordered here on DoorDash and the taste was horrible. It just slipped out of my mind and visited again. To the management: Your ambiance needs work. I wish some of these Indian restaurants would put a little more effort into customer service. I arrived at the restaurant around 6-6:30pm. There was a couple standing in front of me. We stood there at the entrance, waiting to be seated for maybe 3 mins. No sign of anyone. I picked up my phone and just called up the restaurant. Finally someone came out of the kitchen to answer the phone and she realized it was me calling her. She got us seated. Everything was digital, so there was no need for me to wait for any service. -- Gobi Manchurian : such a disappointment, it tasted more ketchupy and didn't have the semi crispness that it should have ++ Chicken appetizer: loved it ++ For the entre, I ordered the mutton dish. I thought it was a 4/5. The parathas that accompanied this complimented it's taste -- Masala dosa: I can't believe that they would completely mess up the chutneys. I got take out on Christmas Day and really enjoyed my food. I had to wait over 20 minutes past the given pick up time; I expected to wait a bit on Christmas Day, however, I would've preferred a more accurate pick up time as I rushed from my previous location to make sure I was there on time. They did offer free drinks to those waiting for food pick up, so that was a nice and thoughtful gesture. I ordered tikka masala, mild spicy, with double chicken and paneer. Very yummy! I couldn't imagine not getting double chicken; the serving I got did not feel like a double serving, so a normal serving must not be a lot. The paneer was perfectly made with the right amount of firmness and tartness. The curry was delicious. Besides the first naan on top, the garlic naan was lacking in the garlic department. It was still warm and soft, and soaked up the curry well. I left no crumbs! The mild spicy still had a good heat to it that was perfect for me. I had a decent tolerance for heat, so I was surprised I could still taste the heat. Be careful if you don't handle spice well! read more

The food was good. I'll get that out of the way. We went on a Saturday afternoon for the buffet. We waited for about five minutes at the front because no one was around. There was, however, one lady off on the side by the bar who was intent on studying her phone, so she didn't see us and someone else seated us. The buffet was good. Everything was labeled and most of what I had was delicious, with the exception of the mutton rice. The real draw, however, was the lack of air conditioning. I can't tell you what the temperature was outside, but it was high enough that this place should've been running its AC and not propping the front doors open and running fans. Also, someone cooked up a big batch of onions and/or garlic in the kitchen, which is fine because it's a restaurant, but the lack of ventilation was a bit much. Picked up Chicken curry & Veg chettinadu for first combo and chicken & paneer butter masala for the other. Also ordered a chicken 65 on the side. Almost took them 15 minutes for the dood to arrive. Talking about the combos, it disappointed me. The chicken curry was good - flavorful. The Paneer masala was underwhelming! What they served as Veg Chettinadu was not even close to what that dish really is. I thought it was Sambar and they made a mistake. The guy who served the food and also the lady who was in charge - both tried their best to convince that it was Veg Chettinadu. They even served me a bowl of sambar to prove it. The best part was Chicken 65. It was really good. Well cooked, but not oily, flavorful and delicious! Happy that we ordered that on the side. Their menu is very big. So many options. This is a mixed bag review. Walked into a completely empty restaurant, which could have been assumed as being closed, partial lights, no tables set. They pointed me one of the few 6 person tables in the restaurant, very tight and awkward to get in and out of. It did not feel dirty just old and rickety. Great South Indian fare. We ordered a big lunch with Mysore masala dosa, rasam, idly & vada combo and kotu parotta. The kids got paneer butter masala with naan. My boyfriend and I ordered Nala's through Uber eats very late one night right before they closed. We got a buy one get one free of the chicken tikka masala, the jumbo paneer tikka masala, naan, chapanthi, and the vegetable pakora. We were pleasantly surprised to get a gigantic amount of food! I know sometimes restaurants will get rid of some of their food that they'll have to throw away if it's close to the end of the night. We ended up getting SO MUCH naan and an extra order of 4 samosas with chutney. Also gave us extra rice. For the price, it was such a great deal! The curry was tomatoey, creamy, and a little bit spicy (we got medium, I could definitely go for hot or extra hot next time). The chicken tikka masala curry was a little stronger than the paneer but both were still tasty. The chicken was tender and flavorful and the paneer was big and chunky! The samosas were excellent, full of spices and herbs and gigantic! The naan wasn't crispy but was still good. The vegetable pakora was a bit soggy from the peppers and onions but still had good flavor, just probably wouldn't order this to go again. Would definitely order again! Especially for the buy one get one free chicken tikka masala! They were full portions, not "combined" like some other bogo Indian food I've seen on Uber eats. read more

I was amazed by the complexity of flavors, not to mention the spice! . The biryani was filled with chicken and had excellent flavor, scent, and texture. The veggie chettinad added added a nice spiciness that set my partner's mouth aflame! The naan had the flame-char flavor and was clearly freshly prepared. I mentioned that I ordered the cauliflower but I am 100% sure that it was meat, not vegetables. Fortunately, I'm not a vegetarian and it was outstanding! This place used to have good South Indian food but after Covid when I visited the place seems dead and so does their food. We ordered Idlis for kids and a Mysore masala dosa for me and ghee masala down for my wife. The first thing to come out was Mysore masala dosa in like 10 mins and it was cold. It seemed like they opened up someone's packed dosa or something. Red chutney tasted off too. Sambhar was just okay. Idlis came next and they were good. My wife's Masala dosa came very end when I was almost done and hers had ghee all over like even if you touch it, your hands will have all ghee and hence no other taste came. We had ghee roast dosa before and it used to be different and very good than this one. She almost left half of it. Two stars, one for Idlis and other one for their service. My boyfriend and I had a strong craving for biryani, so we ordered paneer biryani, mutton biryani, and tandoori chicken from Nala's. Unfortunately a very bad decision for us. The biryanis were both okay, not the best; nothing special, and we've had better, but the tandoori chicken was extremely bland. One thing about Indian food is that I've never had bland food from an Indian restaurant, and I can imagine it's difficult to make Indian food that comes out bland considering the number of spices generally used in the cooking process. Sure, there's good Indian food, and there's great Indian food, and there's AMAZING Indian food; but generally not bland either way. So it was really shocking that I bit into the tandoori chicken and tasted nothing but undersalted, unspiced chicken. Really disappointing. That wasn't the worst part.
