Found this store as I needed to repair a belt and WOW what a find. Vegas has such amazing stores tucked away in shopping plazas and this is one of them. If you need any kind of leather, hardware, maker supplies, or just want to take a class this is the place. So much to choose from, good prices, and the staff are super nice and knowledgeable. Even if you don't do leatherwork you'll be inspired here and also have great jewelry hardware for more chunky, bold pieces. Came in with a group to learn all about leather and what an exciting event it was. learned about diffrent types of leather, cleaning and conditioning, and painting it. We got to create a couple of items and try different tools. Lots of inventory to choose from, great place to find gift ideas . They also carry paint for painting shoes is a project I am looking forward to coming and trying out. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable . Loved Mike's enthusiasm, Ken, Elaine and another lady that I do not remember her name( my apologies) were beyond helpful and patient with our group. It's a decent size store with a nice selection. I like being able to look at the hides I'm buying before I purchase, as opposed to buying online. Not a big fan of one particular cashier, who always seems to have a bit of a standoffish attitude when inquiring about available inventory. Otherwise, if I know what I need and don't need to speak to anyone, patroning this store is a breeze. read more

I don't have a lot to say about Tandy Leather Factory. They have a large selection of leather, leather working tools and leather kits. I came in for a moccasin kit to take me back to my childhood when I made a pair for school. They had exactly what I was looking for and took me right to the kits. I was at the register in no time where I paid less than $20 for the kit. The man and lady working in there were friendly and helpful. And they mentioned that they offer classes. I was thrilled when I found out Tandy Leather has a location in Vegas! I came in over the weekend looking to get some ideas. I've been wanting to experiment with leather for a while now so I decided to stop by and check out the store. I was pleasantly surprised by the large selection of leather and tools they had. This store deserves a 10 , this is my first time coming over here shopping at a Tandy, you come in and boom that magnificent smell of leather aroma . All The workers here are beyond helpful, I felt so bad for having a shit load of questions that I bombarded them with, I was hesitant to bring my dog but they didn't mind at all, it's great to know that there are workers that enjoy their jobs and customers, I've never felt this happy at a retail store!!!! I love thier patience and they did everything they could to help me get what I want and gave me thier amazing discount for being military !!! WHAT !! Visited Tandy Leather after doing some research online about dying leathers. I particularly was wanting to dye a leather duffle bag. I had never done something like this before, however I wanted to give it a try! I had came across the website and noticed there was a location here in Vegas, so I got in my car and ventured clear across town! I had walked in the store and the woman that was working had asked if we needed any help. Like I said I had never done this before so I was a bit nervous to ask what to do because I didn't want to seem "new" to this. I explained to her what I was looking to do and she was able to guide me in the right direction of what to get and the process on how to do the dying. She was very friendly and helpful! She told me that this place is more of a hobby store, and she hit the nail on the head! No better way to describe it! It was fun and very time consuming dying this bag, however it was so much fun! Now that I have done it, I really am considering doing other things in other colors! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for anything to do with leather work or leather dying! Ps. I had went to a luxury shoe repair called shoe lab and they quoted me $650 to dye the duffle. I bought all my supplies here, and still have a lot left over and it only cost me $39!!!! read more

Went there for a 1" X 4" scrap of leather, some die, leather glue, & possibly some fasteners. When I walked in 3 employees just looked at me. No greeting what so ever. One of them asked me what I was looking for. I was very cordial while in hope of a reasonable solution. He projected a very bland and uncaring personality, while presenting me my only $10.00 option for a scrap. That, and the lack of customer service, helped me to decide I didn't care to make any further purchases there. Walking past them on the way out of the store, again they all just looked at me without bothering to acknowledging in any way. Due to a total lack of customer service, and ridiculous prices, they have lost me as a customer of many years., I wouldn't recommend them to anyone for any reason, especially in light of all the internet options available today... read more

Working in a taxidermy shop, we go through blades left and right! We have a certain knife that we couldn't find blades for locally until I looked at Tandy Leather. I gave them a call just to double check that they were in stock, and a darling girl named Valerie answered the phone.
