I had a jacket and a purse that needed new zippers. (Well actually, the jacket just needed the part…read morethat the pull hooks onto, but apparently, one still has to replace the whole zipper.) I took my things in on a Friday and was told that they'd be done on Thursday. When I went to pick them up, the jacket was done but the purse wasn't. When I'd dropped the items off, I hadn't seen the "CASH ONLY" sign by the register, so I had to make sure I had money when I returned on Friday. They did a lovely job, and the people were friendly. It cost $18 for the jacket (which was only a $20 jacket to begin with!) and $16 for the purse. I don't know if those prices are good or not; they seemed high to me, but, on the other hand, I don't have the skill to do such repairs. But I wish the sign about not accepting anything but cash was on the door (although I understand why it's not); most people don't carry much cash these days, so it would be helpful to know the policy beforehand.

He double checked them all, and wanted to make sure we were happy. He did a lot of running around to find styles /sizes for us to try, and it never felt he was pushing anything. We are really happy with the suits my husband selected. Alterations are done on site, and the seamstress was able to come out and advise on what would be best. Jos A Bank's return policy online states that returns on items purchased over 90 days ARE ELIGIBLE FOR STORE CREDIT and must be returned in store. How the hell is corporate OK with this little shit branch going against their policy? I guess they can't enforce it, hence why this brand is garbage. The store attendant made a case of observing that I was returning 7 different items (6 purchased within the last week and 1 purchased over 90 days), and stated "You have too many returns, we no longer accept internet returns." Had I had only 1 item to return it probably wouldn't have been a problem. I was in the store on the phone with customer service when corporate denied any changes to their policy... so who is to believe and who is to blame? 1 star to corporate because they can't keep their branches in line, 1 star to this location because they're pissy the online store is "killing their business". Ya... welcome to 2010 and thanks for wasting my time. Thank goodness we are in 2018 and we can retaliate against shit corporate user experience via social media, to inform others not to support hypocritical brands.

Even if the industry standard now, I expect more from them as a Detroit Metro native. === Here is the alleged Shinola "Guarantee" in pictures. Sent a pre-auth form with picture requesting repair. They approved it as repairable and asked me to ship it at my expense. Weeks later, they said they would send it out of state to an expert for a 6-8 week repair. Then without further messaging, UPS returns it with a "Not Serviced" notice. The clearly outsourced Customer Service rep's response to costing me $15 in shipping for nothing? A 10% discount on my next purchase. The cobbler down the street ended up fixing it for $15. I hope this review does not cost Shinola much more than the $15 I wasted sending it to them. I hope so because I'm not vindictive. It would be a shame if a deceptive, flawed customer service procedure managed to DISGRACE and tarnish the image of Detroit further through DISGUSTING business practices.
