I was sent to Janet by Kathy Savage, Kathy highly recommended Janet for the type of coloring that I was looking for. I called first and requested an appt and they asked if they could call me back, I didn't get a return phone call so I reached out via ig messenger and they also recommended Janet for the service I was wanting. I've been looking for a months for someone to take on my coming out of Covid hair and start the process. I had an appt today ( 7/7 @ 2:30) i got there about ten minutes before my appt and Janet walked over and said " I have an emergency and since you didn't request me, im going to give you to Rachel, ok." I said " I said I did request you, but that's fine" I was a manager of a salon for five years, I wanted nothing more than to go with Rachel at that point. Janet did me ( and Rachel) a solid by "giving me to her" My first session was fantastic and I'm so incredibly excited about what was accomplished in 3 hours. i feel obligated to warn others. I asked for simple layers -- nothing dramatic -- and somehow ended up with one of the worst haircuts I've ever had. The layers were choppy, uneven, and completely unblended. It looks like someone just randomly cut into my hair without any real technique. I tried to communicate what I wanted clearly, even showed a reference photo, but the end result was far from what we discussed. It was disappointing. A year ago I decided it was time to find a good stylist to cut my hair and trim My beard. To that point I had tried all the fancy men's barbershops and paid the $100 price and I could never find anyone who could consistently cut my hair. My wife recommended I use her stylist Mindi. I gave her a try and she has done a terrific job. She is also one of the most kind and caring people I have met. My wife has trusted Mindi for over 25 years at one point she drove 160 miles round trip when we lived in East Texas just to have Mindi cut and color her hair. My wife was diagnosed with Parkinson's 3 years ago and Mindi and the other ladies at this salon treat her so kindly and always lift her spirits when she comes in the shop. I cannot recommend Mindi enough as a stylist. We just love her. read more

Not a fan. I called to see if someone could cut my 6 year old's bangs. I can't remember who we booked with, but my daughter's appointment was for 5pm. We arrived at 4:45pm. No one greeted us, no one asked who we were there to see, nothing. At 5:18pm I was ready to walk out when a girl walked toward us and said my daughter's name. I'm giving 3 stars because the girl who cut my daughter's hair was nice, but we will not be back. Appointment was on September 15, 2021. read more

A cautionary tale - Going here was the worst experience in a salon I've ever had. First, the stylist took me directly to the sink from the front door. There was no sitting in front of a mirror with her looking at the current cut and style, feeling the texture, asking me what I wanted changed and why, she just took me right to the sink and got me wet. When she was done shampooing me and we got to the chair, she told me her sorted life story. She told me all about her alcoholic husband, her 19-year-old son who seems to be following his father's footsteps and her severe ADHD which she controls with Adderall. All while cutting and snipping as fast as she was talking. My hair is layered and highlighted, and I was going a little shorter so when she cut the top lengths, the highlights underneath looked more like a checkerboard than anything else. She never used texturizing scissors or did any point cutting or blending and I had perfectly straight horizontal layers that you could see from across the room. I paid to have it all fixed two days later. There may be a few good stylists at this salon, but the owner hired this train wreck, so I won't be taking my chances with anyone else. This salon knows how to make a customer welcome. I along with others are greeted warmly and immediately upon entering the door. Today my stylist, Dusti, gave me a beautiful trim as usual. A very roomy salon, there are reportedly 11 stylists at here with 3 more about to join. That tells you management knows what they are doing. I wonder if some of these stylists have left other less desirable salons to join this one. From what I have seen, they are a happy group of professionals -- again shows good management. Prices are very reasonable, and my own experience here shows they have talent and expertise (thank you, Dusti). And a huge difference at my previous salon, where stylists appeared stuffy and clients seemed repressed, here there is always a lot of happy chatter from clients and stylists. read more

I tried another local salon & paid twice the price to leave with hair dye on my face & a half a$$ job. So, my hopes were not too high. Gina hooked me up! My experience was very hard and I have sat on writing this review. Without getting off topic, I'll explain my point system. Minus 1 star for my stylist being late. Minus 1 star for the overall lack of cleanliness. Sinks grossed me out, counters were cluttered, lack of windows and natural light didn't reveal half of the dirt and hair but it was noticeable. Minus 1 star for customer service- I was greeted by Steph and Melissa who were kind, but it was sad to see how many stylists were on their phones looking down when they had a customer, even walking back with them after a wash. Minus 1 star for getting my face wet (a lot), bleach on my brand new shirt, and not getting a full balayage. I also requested $20 from the stylist for replacing the shirt. I'm leaving one star because thankfully my hair is still intact and not fried off. It didn't turn out as I had hoped but it wasn't awful. I did find a new place and if it weren't for this experience I may not have found it! Andddd my new girl knows what a root smudge is! The stylist I had already has bad reviews on Yelp and I should have taken them more seriously, but Tangled Fringe commented back as though it was a drama issue on the side, and I'm new to the area and took a chance. read more

I have been coming to see Rachel Riojas who does my hair for 10+ years. She is the best hair stylist I have ever had. She always gets my level 10 platinum blonde highlights done beautifully and she is always speedy with her service- I hate having to sit still!! I highly recommend her to any other Dallas blonde out there!!
