I went in for extractions and I came out with all the same blackheads and whiteheads that I walked in with, if not more whiteheads and red bumps after I left. Face was full of oils and serums even though I told my esthetician to avoid using any serums or heavy moisturizers. I genuinely just wanted a good dermaplan and extraction session. I work in a dirty industry. She was a really sweet lady it just seems like she didn't listen to anything I said, and did her normal routine she does on everyone. I paid $350 for what feels like absolutely nothing. A little annoyed but the atmosphere was relaxing so I guess that was a plus. I did buy the probiotic moisturizer. read more

My husband got me a couples massage for my birthday from here. From the outside the place is very unassuming but once inside, everything felt inviting and homey. I liked that we could both be in the same room for the experience (I've been to other establishments that separate you), the low lights and calming music were enjoyable. I believe we got hour long sessions which lasted about 50 mins when I checked my watch. My husband had masseuse Monika. He said she was excellent, he asked for deep tissue and he got deep tissue. I, on the other hand, got someone new, at least that's what they told us. She really did not apply much pressure even though I asked for deep tissue also (I don't remember her name, they weren't listed under therapists on the website then and still aren't). I probably wouldnt go back for another massage as I was pretty disappointed with that. Maybe I'll try a facial if I'm ever back in town. The room temperature was a bit cold but I think I may have been near a vent because my husband thought it was perfect. I do like that there was a bathroom with a shower attached to the room to freshen up before and after. They definitely did not rush you out after which I appreciated. Amy has the most quaint place but yet full service med spa. I have been seeing her since 2005 and wouldn't go anywhere else. I have fibromyalgia and often was left in pain after massages by others. She never has one time left me hurting she knows exactly how much deep tissue i can do. Love her and highly recommend read more

I have been a client of this establishment since before when it was called Amy's Day Spa. My husband and I are able to go every month for 90 minute massages. Today I literally had the bed massage of my life with Kiki. I want to say it's always very thorough and the therapist asks and then takes into account during the massage any spots needing attention. My husband it's his knees and back, me it's hips and hands/arms. I really really recommend this establishment. read more

Julia is hands down my favorite esthetician from all the spas I've visited in the 20 years I've been receiving facials. She takes her time, really evaluates your skin (more closely than my dermatologist) and makes you feel super comfortable. The extra massage with the 90 minute facial is heaven. Two facials ago, Julia noticed a spot on my forehead and recommended that I follow up with my doctor. 7 days later, my doctor removed this pre-cancerous spot and praised Julia's keen observation skills. Darling little spa in downtown Tampa. After several days walking in Orlando and at the Tampa RV show, I was sore, achy, and in pain throughout my back and legs. I found Amy's on Yelp and made an appointment for a massage, after arriving I added a facial (when on vacation...) I had one of the best massages (Lindsay) and facials (Skylar) I have ever had! I went from daily chronic pain to 0 pain in any part of my body for the first day in years. I wish I lived in Tampa so I could purchase a VIP membership! Any time I am in Tampa, I will be back!!! Do NOT get a massage by Claudette. We have been a client here for years. My daughter just got a massage by Claudette ( 1st time she has had this massage therapist). the 'twisting and pulling' of her ankle has caused a SEVERE SPRAIN ON INNNER AND OUTER LIGAMENTS! Spent 3 hours at Florida Orthopedic yesterday and she now in a boot, round the clock pain meds and cannot bear weight on it. No one we speak to can believe this has happened. However, during the intro, Monika noticed some tension in my glutes and upper back and made a phenomenal recommendation. A sports massage using cupping. This session turned out to be the best of both worlds: addressing my tension as well as relaxing and it put me to sleep. I could certainly use one of those monthly. I will be back!!! read more

I love the smell and essence of this place whenever I walk in!! The massages are divine. I have gotten them from multiple different massage therapists, and I must say - they know how to hire! The basic facial was not worth the price tag. It was very 'fou-fou'. The lady was very nice and everything, but the service itself was bland. She gave me a shoulder/head massage, and rubbed some various gel stuff on my face about 4 times. $55 for 30 minutes of that? No, thank you. I had a massage with Melissa and she was fantastic, she did a deep tissue massage on my shoulders which is where I carry a lot of tension and it was perfect. I booked a mommy to be package and I was absolutely thrilled with the results. I'm from St. Louis and simply wanted to just be pampered. I have to admit I was a little skeptical about the look of the place because it's a house. I'm so used to the big chain business but that all changed fast. A massage , facial, mani-pedi. Honey was I blown away by the service. Angela did my mani and pedi. Ellie was my aesthetician, who put me right to sleep. She completed a facial and derma planning. And Monica put me right back to sleep with my massage. I was there for 4 hrs! And it went sooooo smoothly. When I come back to Tampa I'll be sure to always stop by Amy's. Julia was great no complaints for her, honestly the other staff members were friendly. But.... I was double charged, and I feel over charged but I let it go so I won't go into detail about that but, the pedicure was... well, it was different and I've never experienced such a method! I've never had a pedicure where they don't soak your feet first. Instead my cuticles were half clean dry or sprayed, with I guess alcohol, buffed and polished. Then the callus treatment which is a add on wasn't properly done. Then she filled a bowl at the sink and soaked my feet for maybe 5 minutes. Definitely not worth what, I was overcharged for. I will stick to what I'm use to. That really sucks I like Julia a lot! read more

Horrible customer service! Had been a regular customer for years and overslept and they charged me anyway even though I spoke to Kylee and she stated she would leave a "note". I then called the spa personally and was told that the person I needed to speak to was at lunch. I called 3 hours later and was told that the person never came back. I came here with my friend for her birthday to get the July special pedicure. The experience here was very different than the very clinical, sterile feel you get with other spas. If you enjoy that type of experience, then you will love this place. The estheticians here are very funny and personal with you to customize the experience. There was nothing negative that happened, but it just wasn't our cup of tea. The check in process was fast and we were quickly shown to the pedicure room. The chairs were very big and comfortable. No stiff massage chairs here. We bought the upgrade to the OPI Shine polishes as they were advertised as being gel-like wear, but my polish is chipped after one day which isn't really their fault, but disappointing. They also do not offer gel polish on the feet because they do not have a large enough UV lamp. The July special was the tropical pedicure with Guava scrub. The scrub smells amazing and my legs and feet are still soft days later. I'm really considering going back just to buy that scrub. The lady who did my pedicure gave a great foot massage and was super funny to talk to. All in all, it was a good experience, I just prefer a more professional, impersonal experience when I go to a spa for services or I would have gone to a generic in-and-out place for her birthday. Everyone has their preferences and I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes to relax and have a few jokes over a glass of champagne during their pedicure. read more

$150+ for a facial. That's almost all I need to write... almost. The cost is reasonable if you get treated like a person paying for "luxury " but you don't; many here seem undereducated, not to mention the fact when I asked for water, it was given to me in a mouthwash cup (no joke, the ones your grandma had in her bathroom medicine cabinet) not even a red solo. This may seem small, but when you pay for luxury at any other place they give you the full experience (not just water but usually tea/coffee/wine). I've had $75 haircuts that came with more. Money is earned and the people at Amy's aren't putting in the work to earn mine or yours. The one highlight of the entire experience was Julia, who must be a manager based on her knowledge and how much she talked about knowing. But to top off the sundae, they were out of the products she tried to sell me. Maybe next time I'll just save myself the struggle and go to Hand and Stone. Meh. read more

I came here on my birthday, the start to what I thought was going to be a relaxing morning. My masseuse Dan never showed up. I sat and waited 30 mins past my scheduled time. The receptionist offered a 25% discount and a later time slot but my day was already planned. Unfortunately I live in California. This left a bad taste for me and my friend who booked this for me. From the moment you walk into Amy's, you feel welcomed and at peace. The atmosphere is tranquil and the staff friendly and welcoming. I had the pleasure of receiving a Royal Thai massage from Monica and it was hands down one of the best massage/treatments I've had. I don't typically have massages because I tend to be too sensitive to the pressure, but Monica adjusted her pressure accordingly and the combination of gentle stretching, amazing aromatherapy and steamed herb roller balls gave a blissful experience. I found Monica to be very knowledgeable and helpful even giving suggestions for other treatments and stretches to alleviate some of my concerns. Amy's Day Spa has decent parking for the area and smells good when you walk in the door. You are immediately thrown into the boutique before you can check in. The staff are friendly and they have a small waiting area with snacks and drinks for guests to enjoy. I had a facial done here so this review is for that service. Positive: -The products used are organic -I have been wheezing from allergies and the tech kept the steam on me so I could breathe better. That was very nice and enabled me to breathe without coughing. -The facial was relaxing and I may have fallen asleep -While the mask was on the tech did an arm and foot massage. Nice touch. Negative: -I left the spa with exfoliant, waxy chunks and some green flakes on my face. Poor job taking the products off. Additionally my skin felt heavy -After washing off the products at home my forehead was still peeling (a week in AZ dried out it out) so the exfoliation did not actually get rid of the dead skin like it was supposed to -Hours later my face is still red from the extractions that were done as though I've been picking at my skin myself... not the glow I was hoping for -The massage lotion is very greasy and left me slipping out of my shoes read more

I recieved the treatments from the sweet serenity package as a gift from my dear husband while we were visiting the Tampa Bay area. The treatments were amazing, each one was heaven and the ladies that performed them were very skilled. The spa even worked with me so I could breastfeed my infant son between treatments. To top off the amazing service I received, I returned to the spa after leaving because I had messed up a nail from my pedicure and they fixed it for me and I didnt have to wait! Julia is amazing!!!! I went in for my first body treatment and couldn't have been happier! The room was clean, warm and inviting. Julia was super friendly and made me feel so comfortable! The heated table was perfect. I received the Blueberry Cellulite Cupping Treatment and it was exactly what I needed. The products smelled amazing and where super light, not heavy and greasy. Julia has a great touch and flow so the service was seamless. The waiting area was also super inviting. They offer a great selection of products, Eminence being top of the line.
