Had lunch with a friend here today. Its great location on the downtown square and narrow deep room reminds me of a great OLD pizza joint in Chicago. The lady who was taking care of us provided excellent service and has a wonderful accent and back-story. The food was fabulous. I had the daily special of a personal thin crust pizza with sausage and mushrooms. My friend had an Italian beef sandwich with fries. She took half of it home. Both of us ordered a deep dish supreme pizza to take home for dinner. This is the 2nd time I've dined here and will definitely be back. It's such a comfortable and friendly place! read more

2nd time all I can say is wish everyone could taste this fantastic food. 1 30 minute drive one way. Wish it was closer. Found another person who drives up there who works in Bemis area she lives in Paris, TN. Had Gyro sandwich (with fries included they don't cheat on the food enough to share) we had a Combo Sandwich (again fries included outstanding), then one time a large everything pan pizza. Well we brought the whole pizza home to eat as well as freeze for the next few weeks so much it reheated excellently. 2nd time we got a thin small with our splitting a Gyro with the fries and our thin small ground beef (meatball) was outstanding. Had a chance to eat dinner at Mugsy's in Murray KY this past weekend and what a great time !! Very casual atmosphere the service was very good as well. And the Pizza was excellent we had the Chicago pizza supreme and a thin crust pepperoni. Both were delicious. The Chicago pizza probably the best Chicago style pizza I have had outside of Chicago. Full of onions mushrooms pepperoni and sausage lots of cheese and topped with great sauce. The thin crust nice and crispy. Plenty of street parking. The atmosphere was comfortable, the servers were great. But the food was not very good. The sauce on the spaghetti, and other pasta dishes we got had a spicy, red sauce. It just didn't taste good. I couldn't decide what to try. I was with a big party and service was so efficient. I had the Italian Beef Sandwich, it was perfectly authentic, tasted better than the famous restaurants in Chicago. Portion sizes were more than enough with leftovers (so you get to enjoy it twice). My party shared Gyro and Italian Sausage with me. We had ravioli and the sauce was to die for. Some of the food looked good however being from Chicago we ordered a deep dish pizza. It had lots of cheese and very little tomatoes and sausage. It was a 10" served on a 16" pizza plate so the cheese had melted all over the place. Needed way more sausage and tomatoes and a lot less cheese and served in the deep dish pan. Stopped in while in town for work. This little place is tucked in downtown Murray...if that's what you want to call it. Haha Service was great and server was knowledgeable of the menu. The BBQ chicken pizza was by far the best BBQ chicken pizza I've ever had. Chicken was fresh grilled and seasoned perfectly. The bbq sauce was light and sweet and the bacon added the perfect amount of saltiness. If I ever make it back, I will be sure to try the pan pizza. This is an authentic Chicago style pizza joint. I was hesitant to get it because I wasn't too hungry, but I'm going to be sure to go in on an empty stomach. -1 star for not having much of a beer selection. read more

Love this place! Amazing pizza and always great service. Me and my family go here every time they come to town to visit. They also have good salads with fresh ingredients. One of the other reviews said too noisy. This has never been a problem when I've visited and I have been there over 10 times. Let's break it down!!!! #1 service ,SUCKS #2 menu ,their were more things marked off then what they had to offer #3 salad , Romain not fresh by the time I got rid of the brown crap their was nothing else to eat!!! #4 pizza, excellent, it's the best I've had in Murray!! This restaurant has potential the owners need to hire a food manager to manage the restaurant as well as them, no excuse for being out of product, I've been in the food service business for over 30 years nothing hurts a restaurant more then not having product and the o-well attitude . I just ate at Mugsy's Hideout for the first time in a while. (I have been on a diet.) Mugsy's was always one of the best pizza places ever, but they have taken pizza to a whole new level! We had the 12-inch pan pizza. The crust and cheese were incredible as were the sauce and toppings. I have enjoyed all the big name pizza places in Chicago and I am no stranger to New York pizza (thus, the need for the diet) and this was absolutely the best pizza I have ever had!!! Mugsy's is located on Murray's town square, which is quaint, and across from the court house. You can usually park in front of the establishment. Most of the people who go there are locals, because the Murray State University college students seem to focus on the places near the main north-south drag (HWY 641/12th Street) rather than venturing into the downtown area. Alcoholic beverages are available, but it isn't a bar and people go there mostly for the food. read more
