I worked with George to arrange catering for a party. I asked a few questions about their limitless menu, and he assured me that I could truly choose whatever I wanted. He helped me figure out how much food I needed to feed my guests. I ended up going with a cookout-style menu. He made great suggestions, like replacing regular size burgers with sliders to appeal to adults and kids, and they could get a taste of everything else that I was serving. The sliders, toppings, buns, and chicken breasts were arranged so beautifully that I put away my serving platters and set out the takeout trays. The food was delicious and a lot of my guests commented on how nice everything looked and how good the food tasted. The price was very fair and I didn't have to cook or clean much. Pasta and salad sides also were fair priced. All the proteins were gluten-free, dairy, free, and nut free. I will make a note, we didn't discuss temperature of the burgers so this was my fault, and I am only stating so that anyone else who orders makes sure to add that to conversation. the sliders were pink inside. I will order them well done next time, no pink, for the sake of them being in a warmer for the duration of the party and keeping leftovers for the next day. We like to visit JSP and they have a great vibe and they are very community oriented and giving. We had them cater a wedding recently and the experience was amazing! Very glad we gave this place another chance. Prices are up a bit, but still reasonable: I ordered the sliders again, and now they cost $9.99 for 3. They were almost too cheap before, so this is no problem. The beef is very good, and perfectly cooked, which is a impressive for such a small patty. Newly reopened, Jefferson Street is getting tooled back up for business again. No beers are on tap yet: they lost their entire supply when everything shut down. But, wine and beer in bottles are still available. Maybe I didn't look closely at the menu last time, but they seem to have a few new tricks up their sleeve: tater tots can be had as a side in place of fries, and hush puppies (though not listed as a side on the menu) are also available. Two of my favorite sides now available in a place near my house; the tots were perfectly crispy, but the hush puppies were dense and under seasoned. I'm happy to say the service was excellent this time. We will definitely be back. read more

Nine ladies had lunch today at JSP. Our waitress, Kayla M. was great! She was working alone plus tending bar. We didn't wait long for service & food came up in a timely manner. I used to love coming to JSP and went there almost every weekend with friends, the food is great and the drink prices are very reasonable. I used to come for karaoke and it was so much fun. However, every time since I've gone with the new DJ it has been unbearable. The karaoke is so loud and the pitch is turned up so high that you can't hear anyone you're sitting with. I know that many people have complained to the waitresses (I know they have complained about it as well and can't do anything about it) and a lot of people have stopped coming here because of this and it has not changed. read more

Went there on a Friday and the special was Perch. Waitress paid more attention to the bar patrons than the people dining. Local bar with local patrons. The perch was over breaded, very crunchy, cold and greasy. It is served with 3 hush puppies that looked like rocks. Ordered sweet potato fries and they were cold and greasy. Husband ordered coconut shrimp and said it was cold and greasy. You would think that it being a Friday special the food would have been hot. Waitress brought the check and never asked how the food was or nothing. Won't be going back there; will be heading over to Terry's Terrace and get a decent meal for an extra couple bucks. read more

Apparently they used to serve minors in the past so they denied my valid ID because it was vertical. When you get an enhanced license to cross the border to Canada, your expiration date gets renewed, but you obviously still have the vertical ID if you aren't 21 yet when you get it. I've been 21 for 6 months now and this is the first time I've ever had an issue. I'm getting my "valid" license now because of this but I will be spreading the word that the bartender is incompetent and will not be returning since a bartender doesn't even know how the systems of one of the most important parts of keeping her liquor license--ID cards--work read more

On a bar-hopping mission, I drove by, then turned around and drove back when I noticed the bar. They have an outside patio of sorts, but when I arrived, I noticed the fishflies were beginning to congregate, so they shut off all the outside lights. I decided to go inside for my 1st visit. Me and my girl come here for karaoke on occasion on Friday nights. While it's certainly a dive place, it does have good karaoke. Service has always been good. Pitchers of beer are affordable, about $6 each. It's about the cheapest way to get your drink on over here, I think. Of course, if a Tigers game is on, you can get cheap cans of Bud.
