We came here for dinner and it was packed! They more recently re-did this restaurant and it looks beautiful on the inside and out. We ordered everything from chicken sandwiches to cajun alfredo. I got the mother clucker sliders. For being sliders they were a pretty big portion. The hot chicken was flavorful and had a little kick to it. The chicken was also very tender. Overall this place had some pretty solid food. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. Would definitely like to come back and enjoy their outdoor seating this summer. read more

Came here because we love Johnny black in Rochester hills, but this place isn't like the other at all. SUPER loud, couldn't carry a conversation with the people at our table, food was just ok, $32 for a steak that I didn't enjoy at all c it tasted like smoke, and so did my asparagus. You know when your grill catches on fire and the food gets that smoke taste, well I don't like that so I didn't enjoy it at all. Also tried the calamari, they were tender but soggy, and I'd prefer the lemon sauce instead of the mayo they served it with. The loaded fries were trashed, pretty much fries with a bunch of sour cream on top, not sure if they got confused in the kitchen and doubled the sour cream but there was absolutely no cheese on there. The only dish we actually loved was the ribs and shrimp dish from the specials menu. Our server was nowhere to be found, so service could improve a lot! Overall not sure we'd come back. read more

We got in quickly and we had other coming, so I told the waitress that others were on way so when the final person showed up I informed her he was walking in now and it took her 40 minutes to finally show up to take our order and that was because my wife had to hunt her down. The food is very well prepared and it is still hot when it arrives at the table, a lot of time by the time it reached your table it is only warm. On May 2nd, around 4:30 pm, I called in an order to go and Jessica, who was the manager on duty and answered the phone and took my order. I ordered three orders of full rib slabs with no sauce. I specified "no sauce" twice because of a similar incident a few months ago. I asked what else I could have besides the fries. She said I could get mashed potatoes at no extra charge, so I ordered it. At the end of the call, she confirmed my order. I did not specify a third time that my order should not have sauce, since it had already been mentioned. I drove 25 minutes to pick up my food. The ribs were for my dogs; it's what they like, and I can afford to buy this weekly for them. I picked up the order, drove another 25 minutes home, and discovered the three orders were covered in sauce. I called and asked for Jessica because I knew her name, since during our interaction, I asked for her by name. She said that it was my fault because she repeated the order, and I didn't say anything. I was clear about asking not to put on the sauce. Why should I keep reminding her if I already stated it? She said she was unable to offer me a remake and she was only able to give me $25 on a gift card for my next visit. I offer to drive back another 25 minutes and return the ribs. I cannot give the ribs with sauce to my dogs because it has a spicy taste. Otherwise, if it were regular barbeque, it may not be an issue. I went back and forth with her, expressing that I spent almost $100 today, and I was unable to get what I originally ordered. I said this is the second time that this has happened to me. With the difference that the first time, a new hostess took my order and I told her several times as well. Jessica's answer was I've been talking to you for 20 minutes, and I'm busy, I don't have time to talk right now. That was very inappropriate; it was her duty to help address the customer's problem; in this case, she was the one who took the order. My complaint was valid, and I was shut down by her rude behavior. I was so deceived that I decided to call my husband, who was on a business trip in Tennessee, and I expressed my concern. He called the restaurant and was upset by how she handled this situation. She told my husband that she was going to replace the order. People make mistakes, but clearly, there was no accountability. She basically told me that it was my fault and she was not going to replace the ribs. I understand that sometimes restaurants lose money, but in this case, she never took accountability for her actions and basically called me a liar. As a business owner, we often take losses because we want to keep the customer happy and satisfied instead of arguing with the customer. Even when I dropped off the wrong ribs and picked up the new ones. She said that I was a "red flag", and she spoke to the staff, and they told her that I had a similar issue before. My answer was that you called me a red flag because you assumed that I wanted free ribs. She replied, well, I don't really know who you are. Why does she make these absurd accusations in front of the staff members? I found it extremely unprofessional for a manager to speak to me in the humiliating way she did on that day. She is supposed to be a leader in front of her staff. She had poor problem-solving skills and didn't know how to speak to a customer without offending them. Being a manager requires patience, leadership, and great customer service skills. She also said in front of the three staff members, two waitresses, and the hostess that I was repeating myself, and she didn't have the time to listen to me over and over. I said don't worry, next week I will address this issue. I felt unvalidated, offended by her words, and also mistreated by someone who supposedly has great customer service skills. We own a business, and we try to support local businesses in our community. We had our corporate Christmas party at that location. Jessica was not only unprofessional but also rude to a formal customer. I'm guessing this is not the only time that she has done this. People like her don't deserve to be in the customer service industry. She is the red flag telling a customer "You repeating yourself over and over . I don't have time right now , I'm too busy. Nice place, with good food. We had the Detroit-style meat lovers pizza, which was excellent. The crust was perfect and it had a great amount of toppings. One of our party had a steak burrito, which is a monster. My only complaint is that it is very loud, so it is difficult to hold a conversation in a group. First time coming to this location. Went on a Friday night with the game on around 7 waited about 20 minutes for two to be seated so not bad. Place was clean. Staff was nice and very attentive. My fiance ordered the Lakehouse Chicken wrap he really liked it and was completely gone. However I got the house nachos and this are barely dented. You could definitely share that order. We came here for lunch on a weekday and got a table right away. They weren't busy but there was a fair amount of other tables. My mom and I both forested drinks and enjoyed them. The menu is fairly large and is pretty diverse. We also both got burgers. I got fries and she got a salad with the burgers. They were very good and the fries had a nice crunch but soft inside. We have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Johnny Blacks. Prior to this, the restaurant was called the Firehouse and was lacking. They have really done some amazing things to this place! We came to watch the Derby and were happy with the vast amount of TVs. They call themselves a two house but there wasn't a very impressive beer selection. There was a lot to choose from on the menu. Nice Happy hour, but that's about it. The baked Italian sub was very disappointing. The onions were sliced very thick and the meat was not slices of deli style, it was chopped meat. Like what might be in an antipasto salad rather than a sandwich or sub. More like a vegetarian sub with plenty of thick sliced onion, peppers, lettuce and tomato but very little meat. Sorry we didn't take pictures. When waitress asked how meal was we told her it was disappointing and showed her the excessively large onions and not much meat. She agreed that didn't seem right and she would tell them in the kitchen. We never heard another thing about it. Expected to speak to the manager. Apparently they don't care. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised to find a duplicate of one of our favorite restaurants from Lake Orion, MI. We both were impressed by the options on the menu and had a hard time deciding on what to get. Both dishes we had were delicious and were served rather quick. Our server was attentive right away, almost too fast as we had not looked at the menus yet. I was able to study the dinner menu prior to arriving but not the drink menu. Perhaps they can add it to the web site as well in the future? Seating area is plentiful, open, airy and bright. We were surprised the noise level was not higher and I am curious if the multiple hanging speakers from the ceiling have something to do with it. Looking forward to the outdoor patio being completed even if the view is of the parking lot. read more

What a terrible experience. We arrived and were told 25 min wait. Several tables were empty, even the table we were leaning against while waiting. 20 min later, they say " our table is now ready"... surprise it's the empty table we have been looking at for past 20 minutes. When asked why, the female greeter argued with us (so much for customer first). So we walked out. I work hard for my money, and won't be treated so poorly. Today, The server was obnoxious and incredibly rude. We paid cash and were to get coin change backalong with a $5 and $2 . . The waitress told us, with an incredible air rudeness , this " we never give coin change back , I can go and try to scrap up .22 cents for you if you really want it." She told our other diner that her change was , I believe,.8 cents , " do you really want that change? We don't give that back we don't have coin change here." We were incredibly polite to this waitress. AND isn't this theft from the customer, not giving them all their legal tendered change back for services rendered?
