Kinda bummed... I cannot really review this place because as soon as we walked in--we walked right in front of people playing live music. It's not a very large establishment to cram live entertainment inside (IMO) and we stood inside for 5 mins and just had to leave. It was hard to talk to my fiance or have any conversation. To be fair there was seating outside. They have misters but when you want a couple of cold ones with your significant other to unwind from the week--this unfortunately wasn't the move for us today. My parents had been here a couple times over the years and seemed to enjoy their selection over other tap rooms they'd visited. So, they took me here one Friday evening to try it out. One important note: I hate beer. I don't even like seltzers you'd get in a can that much. Cocktails and mixed drinks are my go-to. However, I do like ciders and my mom likes meads, which means she thinks I'd like meads as well. Anyway, we arrived around 5 on a Friday and the place was smaller than I expected, and not very crowded at all. There was only one bartender and he wasn't busy when we sat down at the bar, meaning he was very friendly and attentive. I like anything fruity and/or sour, so when I saw the sour gummy candy drink, I knew I had to try a sample. Not surprisingly, it wasn't as amazing as I expected. I then tried a sample of this honey pear cider, and it was a little better than the sour gummy candy drink. My mom ordered a 5 oz of the other flavor we were eyeing: the key lime pie cider. That was the best cider we had tried. The mead flavors all looked intriguing, but I just didn't feel right spending $11 on a drink that I didn't even know if I'd like (since you can't sample meads). If I was feeling more adventurous, I would have gotten the pb&j mead, but I opted for a prickly pear and vodka lemonade. I watched the bartender make it and he poured quite a hefty amount of vodka in the glass. I wasn't complaining one bit (my mom was scared though lol). Upon tasting it, it wasn't the best mixed drink ever, but it was strong and went down easy. Plus, it was a better price than these $16 cocktails you see at all restaurants nowadays. My dad got the moose drool brown ale and I hated it whereas he liked it. It was a nice, clean place with just the perfect temperature air conditioning, and the happy hour time range is honestly amazing if you're like us and prefer to go out early and be home for the rest of the night. Second time I've been to this place really really like this place they got craft beers of craft wines and a couple local and normal beers and wines as well. The service is great bartenders always making sure you are served and making sure you got whatever you need. This place does not serve food but they do have a taco guy that shows up does burritos and tacos stuff like that. They are pretty good as well. I recommend them I can't remember the name of him, but they're really good or you can go down to one of the stores around them and get food. That's not a problem at all the ambience is good as well love music. They also do have live acoustic music here and there on the weekend either Friday or Saturday I was there on Saturday. The band played well had low music to where you're still able to talk with everybody and have a good time. All in all if you haven't tried this place go ahead. Check it out. We love this place for so many reasons- spacious dog patio, friendly and super knowledgeable bartenders that give great suggestions off their vast menu, trivia night Wednesdays are fun, weekly disc golf league, variety of beer/wine/ciders (and mead!), and live music several times a week. It's a great place to get together with friends and chill or play games. They only serve some snacks, so if you need a meal order up some tacos next door (they'll deliver to you), or a sandwich at Jimmy John's. Nothing is more disappointing than dirty tables. You have to go up to the bar to order your drinks, and apparently clean your own table as well. During our visit on a Sunday afternoon, the staff was relaxed behind the bar, occasionally leaving their safe zone to pick up glasses, but for some reason could not wipe any tables down. Though there is an extensive craft beer selection, only half our group ordered before realizing all the empty tables were dirty. We promptly finished and headed over to a different craft beer bar. Will not be back. read more

Went with a group of coworkers for happy hour. Had three glasses of wine and was incorrectly charged eighty dollars. I went in person several days later to inquire. The bartender was on the phone when I arrived and was actually fielding a call about the same thing on the same night (someone else was calling to report they were over charged). The bartender took my number and said he would have the owner contact me. Never heard from them. Called again- no response. Obviously I won't return. read more

Loved this location! We came on a Sunday afternoon. There was a small 2 man band, that had everyone's attention and participation. The vibe was perfect and fun. He had a few Dank Fruit's IPA. I had a couple sours, a Spicy pickle monster and a Mangonada, which was my favorite. Then I tried to have one of my favorite red wines from a vineyard I enjoyed in Elgin, but it was all gone so I opted for a wine from Wilcox, which was great. They also had a snack, Crack Balls which was habanero flavored cheeseballs, I very much enjoyed them. I can't wait to come back. read more

Been to this place about 5 times. First 4 times, no complaints. Great assortment of beers on tap. Most recently (3/24/23 @ 5:15pm) I stopped in, waited for 15 minutes, watched 4 other groups get served ahead of me (who came in after me), and never got acknowledged. The place was about a quarter full and two bartenders working. Completely unacceptable. Both myself and another customer ended up walking out... needless to say, their service needs some major coaching. read more

I am so excited to have a place like Tap Dragon not only in our neighborhood but within walking distance from our home. They just opened last Saturday and we had an opportunity to swing by for a couple beers and even got a bottle of wine to go. Such a good location. The outdoor seating is such a nice and relaxing spot to sit and enjoy a beer.
