Love this place! Always so clean and tables ready-felted often - always meeting a great range of new friends and creating new memories. I love each of the staff they are so friendly and welcoming! Food is surprisingly good and love that they have different specials everyday on $5 tall, $3 short, $5 bites!! Can't beat that! Good food - Good friends - Good Fun!

What can I say it's your typical pool hall similar to Southern California! I've seen it all show me something different and exciting please. It's honestly ok I don't have anything bad to say about this place but except for the fact that the kitchen was closed so that was my only complaint and the bartender had zero personality so it needs some help on that end also. Either way I'll try it again and hopefully my next experience here is better.

We stopped in for a quick lunch and a drink. The place is average. We ate and drank out beverages in record time and then were on our way.

I kicked off our 90-minute experience with the Blackberry Yuzu Margarita, and it was the perfect balance of crisp, sweet, and tart. I wrapped things up with the Macadamia Nut Piña Colada which, fittingly for being "aboard" a pirate ship, was delightfully rum-forward without being overly sweet. In between cocktails, we shared a couple of snacks that were such a welcome addition -- something you sadly don't always find at local speakeasies! The service was top-notch thanks to our bartender Rocco, whose knowledge and attention to detail made the experience even more fun. Between the creative cocktails, immersive vibe, and fantastic hospitality, Undertow is easily one of the coolest spots around!

Of course, this place is known for its cocktails, so naturally they should be great--but trust me, I've been to several cocktail-only establishments that were lackluster. Absolutely NOT the case here. You could literally put all the pages of the menu on a wall, throw a dart, and whatever you hit would be delicious and interesting in its own right. The place is a little small, but honestly, that's what I love about it. It feels cozy in all the right ways. It's also very relaxing, floating along the sea with some delightful surprises here and there. We ordered several drinks, but one that's not on the menu (and they do make it) is the Pearl Diver, which is magnificent here. The mixologists and servers are all amazing and should be proud of themselves for bringing such an experience to Gilbert.

The bun seems to be coated with butter and toasted (can't go wrong with that) and the meat ....perfection. It was tender and so flavorful. The other star of the show was the fries. Now they're not healthy (of course) but man are they delicious. They're perfectly fried and seasoned. Our friends ordered the fish and chips and that dish got good reviews too. I personally also love the feel of the restaurant. It's a chill bar and grill type vibe and if you're someone who loves alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks, there's something for you on the menu. As for the service...top notch. Our server was training someone today and both of them were fantastic in my opinion. We will definitely be back, especially for that amazing French dip.

We sat at the bar and had a view of the entire restaurant including the kitchen. The place is a well-run and oiled machine. Best quality seafood in the valley. It's pricey but you get what you pay for. The calamari is epic. A must try! We also have the dozen oysters. They were spectacular and the shrimp cocktail does not get any better than this. The servers are robotic and will ask you every single time if this your "first time dining with us". Never do the hosts or hostess acknowledge "welcome back". When we take our tables there's always a receipt on our table and I turn it over and it says "big spender" on it. We do order a good amount and always the best stuff. But to put this receipt on your table for us to see is beyond cringe, and on top of it their servers will pick it up and ask if I've been there before. 50 times I'm guessing we've visited in the last year or so. Countless reservations under my name and other friends and bar visits for happy hour. Today was my wife's 38th birthday and we came to Buck and rider to enjoy it with our three boys. For the first time in our couple years coming they id'd my wife for her drink she ordered. She didn't bring her ID. The server got the gm and she denied us even seeing our history of how many times we've frequented the establishment. She didn't care that it was her bday or that we had a picture of her ID she was cold, dismissive and short. Nothing you expect of a place that should welcome us with open arms, remember us and make our experiences there memorable. It's a judgement call for them. Deny our best customers who dine here twice a month or more, who have three boys and take her ID picture or lose a good customer. Common sense and standard judgement have been completely lost

But, my wife had fries that I could steal and I appreciate having a salad option. The little side salad had a nice bitterness complemented by the slight sourness of the dressing. The meat was flavorful and sliced perfectly while the bread was toasty enough to stay together long enough to hold in all that juiciness. Our server was attentive and friendly and I'll happily go back to try some menu staples ... unless the next special demands my attention like that Reuben did.

The queso was rich without being too heavy, and the mustard added a nice contrast. For my meal, I had the Caesar salad topped with a bistro steak cooked a perfect medium rare. The romaine was crisp, the garlic-anchovy dressing bold, and the garlic croutons and parmesan tied everything together. The steak was tender, flavorful, and elevated the salad. At the table, we also ordered the cheesesteak with Angus beef, roasted peppers and onions, Havarti cheese, and garlic aioli served on a baguette, with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was hearty and satisfying, and the fries were really good The wagyu burger was another standout--topped bacon, Gruyère and smoky blue cheese, caramelized onions, tomato jam, and garlic aioli on a pub bun. The beef and bacon were fabulous and the fries cooked to perfection Jake, our server, was terrific--attentive, friendly, and helped make the whole experience even better. We finished with the butterscotch bread pudding topped with vanilla gelato and caramel sauce, which was the perfect ending--warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweetness Overall, a great patio dining experience with flavorful dishes, excellent service, and plenty of variety.

The only that was a bummer is their fish and chips is panko crusted and not battered. I love fish and chips with the traditional batter, and don't feel like panko is a good match for the white fish.
