The Tap-in Taproom is located inside Whole Foods. Their food is top notch and service is great. They have amazing daily specials for $14 including a craft beer. Also ask the bartender for their $4 beer specials that change daily. You can also buy alcoholic beverages in Whole Foods and enjoy it in the restaurant or out on the patio and enjoy it with your meal. Really cool! The quick and dirty- Food is great, beer selection is spot on. The bar manager/beer buyer knows his beer. Wings and pub burger, can't go wrong. Atmosphere varies between popping off and chill and both are fantastic! The long story- As newcomers to the desert, we were desperate to find our new watering hole. Coming from Anaheim, we had a ton of beer at our doorstep. We tried brewery after brewery out here (all 5) and our friends suggested Tap-In Taproom. So we googled it, drove over and couldn't be more surprised to see it inside of Whole Foods..welp, let's give it a go. We found our home!! The staff is welcoming and in a sea of regulars we were made to feel right at home. Catch us here a few times a week having dinner and checking out the new beers on the board. The Tap-In Taproom at Whole Foods (yup, the grocery store) was hopping when I got there around 2 PM on the last Friday in March. Nevertheless, the server took my order quickly and efficiently. I sat at the bar and had an Arnold Palmer and watched tennis on one of the TV screens while I waited for my meal. When my food arrived, it looked great. The Beyond Burger was prepared beautifully: nicely seasoned and served with cheese, juicy tomato and green leaf lettuce on a remarkably soft, tasty brioche bun! I mean, I noticed that bun! :) The basket of fries was adorable and yummy. I appreciated the presentation of the food on a rectangular white ceramic plate. The server made a perfect Arnold Palmer by hand, and he promptly offered me a refill. You know those times when you want a quick lunch but don't want to drive through--yet you don't want to do that whole restaurant thing? This place is perfect for those times. You can eat really good food, get a soft drink or an ale, and just eat in peace by yourself--unless you want to strike up a convo with the bartender or a fellow shopper. Afterward, you can choose anything in the whole store for dessert! LOL Or do your grocery shopping ! Or go next door to Handel's for an ice cream! :) So glad I chose to eat there today! read more

Place is a cool stop to grab food and a beer while getting a little office work done. Problem is they act as if you're a burden- Dude literally goes out of his way to ignore you at the bar- Joe hard is it to ask if someone would like a beer 15 minutes after you're open to serve? Dude either doesn't like me, which is cool, I won't return, or he's got something going on. I don't know and I don't care, just serve me a beer and leave me alone I'm not difficult but I do like to be acknowledged at some point. Is that too much to ask? Wow, the Sunday football special is amazing! Fed 4 adults and we left with left overs. $35 for a large pizza, 16 wings, and a pitcher of beer of your choice! Buzz, bartender extraordinaire. Love this place. Best beer selection in South Palm Desert, bar none. Solid, well-rounded beer offerings with something for everyone. I love hops but low alcohol content. Hubs love a strong IPA. Every single time we go Buzz has something new on offer. He hand picks the beer on tap and my God, he knows his beer. On a rare occasion I only worked a half day today. Decided to check out this Whole Foods since I heard so much about the Tap-In Taproom's specials. I mainly hear about their burger & beer for $13. I already had to go food being made so I just got a glass of Belching Beaver while Lions vs Patriots preseason game was on 3 out of 4 TVs here with sound. I like this lil area to relax, have a beer, and then try to be all healthly and buy organic foods :p Buzz, my bartender, was helpful and we had good conversation. I'll definitely come back again. We've been into Whole Foods a hundred times and for the first time, we went in for a beer yesterday. Very pleasantly surprised. They have 22 taps that compete with any tap list in the desert. Also, they have daily food specials (see picture) that are incredible deal and the woman tending bar was very pleasant and eager to help. We will be back again, for sure. read more

So good! I went in for a healthy salad and was quite impressed!!! Especially the service despite being short staffed. Apologies for an initial greeting, but he made it up by his friendliness and attentive service. I recognize that servers who are short staffed, need time to catch up so they can give waiting customers better service. This was the case. My salad Nicoise with salmon was Great! It was fresh greens and a large piece of salmon. The dressing was very tasty. It suited my light and fresh healthy lunch. And it was only $12!!! The server even shared his Monday night football specials and Thursday night specials. It's a nice place to come and hang out and enjoy the beautiful scenery and watch sports events. I would have never have guessed this little place existed had I not gone into Whole Foods supermarket The unsweetened peach tea was delicious. I judge my teas partially on the color of the tea. This a unique spot. It is somewhere between a food court and a cafe. You could tell the food was fresh and it was very tasty! I had the vegan bowl and my boyfriend had the fried fish tacos and they were some of the biggest tacos I've ever seen! And they were of quality. The price of food and a pint is very reasonable. They don't have much on tap, but we learned that you can purchase a bottle in the store and drink it there in the restaurant. I would do that next time! Our server was super sweet and she was working hard! She was the food taker, runner, bartender and bus boy! She smiled the whole time! Menu tip: You can skip the vegan chocolate cake. This is my favorite bar for beer. The selection of beers varies weekly and is unmatched anywhere in Palm Desert or even the Valley. Bar Manager Buzz is well versed in the beers and ales he orders and serves. For me, food becomes second place to the great choice of beers but, it certainly cannot be overlooked. The Kitchen staff churn out delicious meals to compliment the beverages.....love the fish and chips and of course the wings. I am among many beer lovers that consider the Tap-In Taproom their regular "go to" bar. read more

Not quite delighted with this place anymore. The food is good and where else can you get a beyond burger cooked to order? Unfortunately the service isn't fantastic. It's not really their fault though, they usually have only two people working that large space. They should revamp their menu and add more items! I would also recommend more comfortable seating. We hit this spot on the regular. Today went for a couple of our favs... lemon ginger sour radler and the Maui blonde lager. Both easy drinking but the sour really hit the spot. Honestly this restaurant has the best vegan options in the whole valley. I ordered some food to go last night and it was so delicious and really reasonably priced for the amount you get. This place is a craft beer lover's dream. It's not a sports bar, as listed on Yelp, but it's a great upgrade on a food court. They have about 20 or 30 craft beers on tap, and you can buy any bottle in the store and drink it there. They've got a few big screen TV's too. Drink after you shop or while your significant other shops. read more

First mistake, sports bar in a grocery store? Thanks yelp. The smart move would have been to leave and find a real sports bar. Anyways, I specifically order the nacho and brew special and select one of the beers on tap. I then mention not to put on any guacamole or avocado due to having an avocado allergy. Next I ordered the roasted brussel sprouts (that's all that was noted on the menu, no other descriptors). She rings me up and I pay, but as I was signing it seemed a bit high, so I asked the cashier about it. She said the beer I selected wasn't part of the local selection that was part of the deal. Well if i ordered the brew special, it would seem relevant to have told me that whatever I ordered wasn't on deal and was extra ($5 extra?!). Whatever, the beer was good so fine, however I was a bit irritated. After a lengthy wait, definitely longer than what would seem normal for two basic apps and there was no crowd, the food comes. The brussel sprouts were covered with a sauce, and we asked what it was, and the cashier/ waitress (Mayden) cheerfully noted Avocado cream sauce... Now, that would be tasty except for the fact that I specifically said earlier that I have an Avocado food allergy, before I even ordered the item!!! So, I told them to try again without the sauce, and then I go to grab a nacho. Cold. Cold Tortilla Chips, and cold barely melted cheese. Try again please. So I would not come back here nor reccomend this place to anyone. Once correct the food was good, but the service and execution was horrendous, and a pathetic excuse for a sports bar. I would have expected better due to the fact that it was in a Whole Foods, but maybe since Amazon bought them, service doesn't matter. read more

This place changes a lot over time. They are always modifying their weekly specials and menu. Somewhat recently they brought down the prices for specials so that they are all just $10 for a beer + food item. That's kinda good, but comes with a significant sacrifice of quality, like the side salad option being literally just spring mix with dressing. I am kinda glad they no longer carry the vegan bbq pizza because nothing is good with that much fake cheese on it, but I do miss the buffalo cauliflower. Overall, this is one of the very few low-key bar options in the area and it offers the kind of food that other places don't, so I do come here occasionally. read more
