Great service is few and far between now a days. So are tap plastic locations. One of the first to close was in South sac, but fortunately this location still thrives. The store is laid out open very well. Whatever size of something you need, it's likely they can custom cut for you, right there! The prices are totally worth it. More than worth it. Tap has everything you need from thick to thin plastic. Verity of colors and fabric from fiber glass to carbon fiber. Awesome people for help. For resin and pieces they're going to throw away, they've given to me and charged a minimum price. The tools even a two sided tape that will dry to an epoxy strength. There are a lot of good things to say about tap plastics, but it only takes one customer service experience for them to lose a customer. I called because I could not order online from the company website and pick up at the store locally. No big deal... I already knew that... And told the woman who answered the phone that's why I was calling. But she went into two minutes of all the reasons they couldn't do that and I would have to come in to get the plastic. Those two minutes ended with her still talking, and me just hanging up the phone. In less time than it took me to get off the phone with her, I ordered what I needed from the website and paid the shipping fee to avoid having to drive across town to listen to another lecture. 8/27/2020: This potting table I bought via Big Lots on 6/3/2015 via Hercules CA has seen better day; the polycarbonate table top was disintegrating, crumbling! Tap plastics is a great place to get plastic. They cut ti size usually while you are waiting. Polite and friendly people. I have been ti this location may times to have something cut fir various projects. One was a replacement fir a refrigerator glass shelf that broke when cleaning. I replaced the glass with a piece of clear plastic and they cut it exactly to size. Worked great. So if you want plastic go here and tap them. read more

Can we talk about the amazing staff at this location? This place can be an intimidating place to go to since it's a "guy" store. I was so surprised to see the staff behind the register were all ladies! An just like that, I felt relaxed and was able to ask questions without fear of sounding like a dummy! Chris helped me out with pricing and my order. The store lead (I can't remember her name! Sorry) but she was awesome! We talked about crafting and she showed me some cool items in the store. I was looking for a round plexiglass piece for a wine barrel bar table. Lowe's recommended them for "round" material and they were so nice, helpful, and efficient. I was in and out within 5 minutes with one of their precut round pieces. It would have taken longer for a custom piece but they have a variety of sizes in even numbers. I highly recommend! read more

Great place to get your cut-to-order plastics and acrylic pieces for your various project needs! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. It was easy to place an order over the phone or through email for a pick-up order. They are able to cut on the spot as well if you're willing to wait around a bit. In my experience, my pieces were cut well and to my specifications. Prices seemed very reasonable as well. I was able to get my acrylic pieces cut exactly to size that I wanted for about the same price as what I could find at lowes or home depot. However, because of the customization I was able to get my pieces as one big piece, which I preferred, rather than several smaller ones like I would have had to do at home depot. It's been many years since I visited a Tap Plastics store, so I was amazed at all the different materials they have. This opens up a lot of creative possibilities for me, and at reasonable prices, too. I brought a large frame to the store because its glass had broken, so I was hoping to replace the glass with unbreakable plastic. I thought I might have to pick up the finished (cut) plastic the next day, but they said they could have it done in about 15 minutes---and they did! They advised me on the thickness that would be best for my project and told me how much it would cost. That was another nice surprise: Tap charged me literally one-tenth as much as a big-box craft store wanted to charge me for the same thing, so I'm glad I shopped around. I have visited this business before to get plastic shield for my skylights. They were cut to order and came out perfect. Today I came to pick up some custom-made shelves for a medicine cabinet and some organizer boxes of good quality. The store is in the middle of being remodeled so they don't have quite the selection in the showroom that they normally would. The person that helped me her name is Chris. If you need a Gourgous acrylic desk or a shadow box there is no limits to what these two can design and work with you on. I stopped in today for a small sheet of plastic to resolve a small problem I had with real estate on my desktop at home. I was hoping they would have a leftover piece that'd solve my problem cheaper than a whole sheet. I was in luck! The ladies behind the counter and the staff in the production area were attentive, friendly and accommodating. I've only once before needed plastic goods from TAP Plastics and since I'm not well-versed in what a plastics store usually stocks, I can't speak for the selection they have or if they'll have what you need. I will say that they seemed to have a good assortment of items and variable thicknesses and colors of different plastics. Plus, their customer service shows that they're there to help you. Give them a try. Be nice, be kind, be considerate and sometimes it comes back tenfold. If I needed plastic in the future, I'd definitely return. read more

I broke the window on my truck camper shell and came here looking for material I could use to fabricate a new window. I was unsure what type of plastic to purchase, however I was met with an associate that was very helpful. I explained what I needed the plastic for and he accompanied me to the parking lot to examine my camper shell in order to advise me on what type of plastic to purchase. He also provided me with direction on how to cut the plastic, what type of blade to use, and even gave me a piece of scrap styrofoam to put under the plastic while cutting. read more

I have to totally agree with the above ROTD. TAP Plastics rocks! The store is clean, well organized, their prices are very reasonable and the best part IMHO? The staff are always friendly and willing to help out. I purchased what I thought was a free standing JennAire kitchen stove at a fantastic price, only to discover it was supposed to be used for a built-in application. Problem: The only place I had to put it was in a freestanding place. Then I remembered a few other odd projects TAP Plastics had assisted me with in the past, so I took the dimensions off the sides and front of the stove, told them what I wanted to to, and they custom cut and beveled the edges of the three (2 sides, 1 front) plates in a nice smoked/textured heat resistant plexiglass for me. Then pointed out the correct glue to use to apply tiny magnets, and Viola! I was able to make my steal of a deal stove look like a normal freestanding stove - complete with easy to remove for cleaning side panels. Cost? About $27.00 including materials and labor. They also have a ton of prefabricated items for use in store displays, etc. Go check them out - I guarantee you won't be disappointed. read more

A lady named Chris patiently helped me with pricing, various choices in colors , thickness, etc etc. I needed a custom cut to size....and that was handled quickly and sooner than the promised time. I recently went into Tap Plastics on Auburn BLVD here in Sacramento CA because I needed some supplies to do a fiberglass project. I have never worked with fiberglass before but I watched several videos and as an engineer, I felt confident that I could get the job done. While selecting the mat, cloth and resin I needed, I chatted pleasantly with Chris one of the cashiers who frequently helps me. I explained what I was trying to do and how I thought it should be approached. She listened to me and then added about 5 more things I needed to do to get the job done right. I really appreciated her help and feel even more confident that this project will go well. Shocking that they get such great reviews. At the suggestion of Home Depot, I called them to get some suggestions on how I could better insulate a single pane window. I spoke with Heidi. She was incredibly not helpful and could not give me any guidance on how this piece of plastic might be installed or any suggestions on how I could accomplish my goal. On several instances during the conversation, I asked to speak with someone else and she seemed unwilling to transfer me to anyone. So I will move on with my research and look for somebody who is more willing to help me. You just lost a customer Tap plastics. And by the way, you have a typo on your website if you care.
