This is a really big Ace Hardware store. They have a huge selection of hardware, cleaning products, gardening supplies, and more! The staff was really great when I needed help finding bolts, O-rings, and pitchfork handles. They directed me to the right aisles and drawers after I wandered around looking lost for a while. They even looking something up for me online when I had questions about a project. Now that's just good customer service! I don't have anything negative to say about this hardware store. This is my favorite hardware store! The staff incredibly friendly and helpful. I am always greeted warmly and if I ever need someone for assistance, it is easy to find an associate. Not only does this store of standard hardware fare, they also have a fabulous garden section! It is in the back of the store with cute boutique home and garden decor and lovely selection of indoor plants. The outdoor garden area is great, too. Emigh's offers reasonable prices on there inventory, and I like supporting them over the big box stores. What makes Emigh's so special is it part of the fabric of Arden-Arcade. It's firmly rooted in the community and a beloved staple to many residents. Definitely check them out. read more

We recently moved to the area and have been doing little projects. Today we are looking at plants to finish the outside. Every time we have come here, we get great customer service from knowledgeable employees. After spending a little too long looking at their outdoor plants, I decided to cool off inside. Their indoor plant area is very impressive. There are lots of plants, pots and supplies beautifully displayed. Ace Hardware is actually a super underated hardwear store imo. Its smaller then the big box stores obviously but the customer service is honestly so much better, like someone actually comes up and helps you right away which is refreshing. The prices are abit higher then Home Depot but you pay for the convienence and the personalized service. They dont have the same huge selection but for everyday home repair stuff they usualy have exactly what you need. So I went to Emigh's with a solution in mind for an out of control plant on my patio. I picked up what I thought I needed, but couldn't find one item. (What I love most about Emigh's is that there is always someone available to help. ) So a young man (I wish I remembered his name) offered to help and listened to my issue. He wasn't sure of the solution and offered to get the resident plant expert. I think her name was Bridget. After explaining my issue, Bridget recommended a totally different approach. So instead of stakes and ties, I went home and pulled the plant out of the planter and separated the root ball. I now have 3 plants and after two days it appears that they survived the shock and will live. So a heartfelt thank you for saving my plant! FYI: Bridget offered to do the surgery in-house but there was no way I could wrestle that behemoth to the store! read more

Update: My husband recently purchased a few plants from Emigh's, and unfortunately, two of them died within just a few days. He returned to the store to ask about their exchange policy and brought the plants with him. Rather than simply stating the store's policy, the manager, Laura, was extremely rude and accusatory--implying that he didn't know how to care for plants and was somehow trying to scam the store. This kind of treatment was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. A polite explanation of the return policy would have sufficed. For the record, my husband is an experienced gardener and has successfully cared for plants for years. We have been loyal customers of Emigh's for a long time, but after this experience, we are seriously reconsidering where we spend our money. If this is the standard of customer service now, we will gladly take our business elsewhere. read more

If Yelp had more stars to offer, I'd give them. Emigh used to be our neighborhood hardware store, but since moving 20 miles away about 19 years ago, we don't make it there nearly as much as we once did. This week we needed a new kitchen faucet but had questions and very specific needs, so instead of defaulting to the Home Depot that's less than a mile from our home, we drove to Emigh and purchased our new faucet after receiving precisely the service we needed and expected. But when I ran into a couple of minor installation problems, I took the easy path and popped over to Home Depot. Not exactly a bad experience there, but not everything was resolved and I was stuck. Long story short, I ended up returning the Emigh with my problematic faucet (that I'd damaged in the installation process). The Emigh plumbing expert immediately evaluated the problem, disappeared with the faucet into the back where actually performed surgery to access the internal workings, returning 10 minutes later with it fixed like new. But that's not the end of my story. In the 10 minutes it took for my faucet to be repaired, four different Emigh employees asked if I need help. I couldn't help contrast that with a typical Home Depot experience, where every time I have a question, whenever I do manage to track down an employee it feels like they suddenly find something to do in the other direction and completely disappear before I can catch them. So, if you're like me and long for the days of good, old-fashioned customer service, Emigh Hardware is living proof that rumors of its death are greatly exaggerated. read more

I go here mostly for the excellent hardware selection. On Saturday the 10th I was looking for small metric screws and Trey came up and asked if I needed some assistance! I was quite happy to have him assist but what I was looking for was not available. He said I could use a Phillips head and proceeded to get me the 12 screws, washers & nuts for me to handle my task. This is not the first time he has helped direct or find items for me. Here is a true employee that can handle customer service with a smile and knowledge of the hardware they carry. I will continue to shop and support this store for the products and staff. I can honestly say when here if i ask they can help or get someone that can assist me. This place is amazing! I remember going to Emigh's as a kid with my dad, but never stopped by since. Then last week, someone posted on a gardening group that Emigh's was having a sale on bare root fruit trees for $10. Since my in-laws just moved, they were looking for some new trees for their new home. I needed some fertilizer so I figured I'd stop by. If you like gardening, you need to check this place out. This place is huge! They've got tons of plants, supplies, you name it. Prices are decent; not super inexpensive but not unbearable either. I grabbed 3 bare root trees for my father-in-law, some berry fertilizer, two strawberry plants and a Brad's Atomic Grape tomato plant. Kinda glad we don't live that close, otherwise I would spend way too much money and time here! Parking was easy, store was nice and clean. (located near Country Club Plaza) Cashier kept coughing but fortunately she was wearing a mask. My only complaint was the pricing on plants wasn't very clear. Guess there are too many vendors and varieties. I bought 3 different plants of the same size and they were three different prices. If I'm in the area in the future, I will definitely stop by again! read more

Let's face it, it can get tiring and monotonous shopping at the same big box stores that we are often forced to patronize that keep lacking in inventory or customer service. This store was a breath of fresh air! It was quite busy, but for good reason. My main goal for visiting, was to return a hard to find toilet tank repair kit that we ended up not needing, but I will definitely be returning for some hardware and gardening supplies! They are fully stocked from top to bottom with all the major items and products that one would want for home and yard. From electrical, plumbing, equipment, tools, cleaning products, paint, and of course, hardware supplies of all shapes and sizes. For me, it can get tiring and monotonous shopping at the same big box stores that we are often forced to patronize, which can keep lacking in inventory or customer service. I brought in some Toyota blank manufacturer keys to be cut (brought in a Toyota an OEM because when checking on their website, they did not have the year and model in stock). One of the staff, Anthony, said he could not guarantee the cut or the programming. I asked him it's a non-Chip key so what does he mean by programming? He said that is their standard policy and returned my keys and said he won't cut them. He had a bit of an attitude and it probably wouldn't have worked out anyway. Been doing business there for over 30 years. It's amazing how one employee can ruin your experience. I won't be going back. read more

Best hardware store in the city. I'll never shop anywhere else now that I know this place exists. Their staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. On two occasions they helped me fix something I brought into the store from home. I had an oddly shaped piece of wood that I needed replaced on a drawer. Their staff took me back to a scrap pile, matched thickness and cut to size for me all at no cost. You just don't get that level of service other places. Since I just purchased a house, I realized that I am spending most of my time and money doing repairs, upgrading, etc. I also spend a lot of my time here. Unlike the big box stores, I actually look forward to coming here. Maybe it's the friendly, personalized helpful service or maybe it's because there is something that I didn't realize I needed but I dig it here. I have to say that parking can be a challenge at times. The parking lot isn't the largest and this place is popular! They do enforce masks and have a security guard out front which I can appreciate. I can't tell you how many times I've gone into Home Depot and there are scores of people either not wearing masks or wearing them as chin diapers. At Emigh, I feel safe. They have a good return policy as well - bought too many LED bulbs and opened all the packages. They still took them back. Love their garden section too, air plants for only $5? Yes please. Macrame plant hangers? I bought one for my home office. You may pay a bit more than the larger retailers, but I like supporting the smaller guys and paying a bit more for good service. read more

I called Emigh Ace Hardware yesterday (Sunday) to inquire about a hard to find replacement part for my now discontinued EGO string trimmer. I spoke with Laura in the garden department. Laura was so nice and helpful, which was refreshing since good customer service is becoming more rare these days. Emigh did not have the part in stock, but Laura took my name and number, promising to call me back after finding out if she could order the part. Sure enough, a little bit later Laura called back, leaving a message indicating that although she could not order the part, that a specific online reseller has it in stock. She even gave me the reseller's name and price. As far as I'm concerned, Laura went way above and beyond the reasonable standard of good customer service -- because she is great! I was on a hunt for things in several different departments and long story short I came back to Ace four times in 2 days as I learned what did and didn't work for my projects. I had at least 20 employees help me and every one of them was knowledgeable and kind. With all my missing information and back and forth I'm amazed at how patient and friendly they were haha. Jason and Braiden in the paint dept helped me color match with spray paint and gave me all the options possible. The guys in the key dept helped with the keys I needed and gave me their favorite locksmith reference for a very specific key they didn't have blanks of. The garden dept was helpful with soil and plant choices based off my minimal descriptions. And everyone helping in the aisles and at the front were friendly and happy :) thank you all so much I will be back probably too soon haha read more
