PSA: long read. First off, let me start by saying our waitress, Rebecca, was amazing! Couldn't have been more helpful, or given us more attention. Now on to food and beverage. We were there on a Sunday for playoff football. Ordered bloody Mary's which we do every Sunday wherever we go, so you might call us experts! We asked the guy who sat us and initially took our order, if the restaurant had horseradish to add to our bloody Mary's, which he told us were made with a mix. He offered to go in the kitchen to find out and came back with an empathic yes, they do have horseradish. Great. We asked that he have the bartender add that to our bloody Mary's. He came back with drinks that looked like a coffee drink you might get at Starbucks, pale cloudy color. When we questioned him, he said that they turned that color due to all the horseradish that was added. Now we look at each other like what? My friend tastes hers and thinks it's too spicy for her so I take hers but she wouldn't take mine as I had also asked for extra Tabasco. So she asked for another to be made, but please bring the horseradish on the side, so she can add it herself. He brings back a normal, red Bloody Mary and a small cup of what looks like mayo, and when we ask what that is, he says horseradish. No it was not...it was horseradish aioli! They put aioli in our bloody Mary's! Yuck! Who would ever do that? Next to food, which is when Rebecca took over. my friend ordered the Mahi tacos which were so dry she had to ask for extra sauce on the side. I ordered the grilled chicken avocado wrap, which was supposed to have bacon; it did not. Before Rebecca brought us the bill, we asked to speak to a manager, assuring her it was nothing that she did or didn't do. Manager Mike came over and listened to our story, agreeing that no aioli should ever be in a Bloody Mary, he was shocked to hear that his staff would do that, and that yes the wrap should have had bacon, and he was sorry to hear the tacos weren't good. He apologized for our poor experience. Rebecca comes back with our bill, also apologizes for our experience. Imagine our shock that not one thing on the bill was comped, not even the bloody marys! My friend and i both have worked in the restaurant business and could not believe the manager did not try to get us to come back by offering to take anything off of the bill. Bottom line: food was subpar, drinks were not only subpar but clearly the bartender had no clue, and Mike needs to give better customer service to get patrons to return after a poor experience. We wont be back but hope to see Rebecca working at a better establishment! read more

I've been to another Tap room location before and enjoyed my experience but I went to the bayshore location last night and was extremely disappointed. It took 20 minutes for our server to ever come over to our table to even greet us to begin with and that was because we had to go up to the hostess stand and ask who our server was and they said "I'll get them". They finally come over and after we ask if when a bigger table opens if we can end up moving our check to accommodate for more guests they just walk away , never taking our order. Then we move tables to accommodate for a larger party and still wait 15 minutes for a server to come over to greet us/ get a drink and order and that was because we went to the hostess stand again. Our server came over rarely and everything took so long. Our server was very nice but as someone who worked in the restaurant business I know waiting 20+ minutes to even meet your server is unheard of. A server should greet you immediately and if anything say i will be over in a few minutes. Seemed like the staff didn't know what they were doing. read more

I had an OK experience here last night. Food was OK drinks OK. The thing I can't get off my mind is there was no soap whatsoever and the ladies room. I told a server immediately,30 to 40 minutes later I use the ladies room again.. still not one drop of soap. They have up the sign for employees to make sure they wash their hands. Place is really nice inside. The waitress was nice even though we came pretty much near closing. My friend got shrimp tacos with these fries which were bomb. I go wings which are an appetizer but there is enough to fill you. The waiter gave us her with no hesitation which made ordering a breeze. The desert was the only thing I remembered to take a picture of but the presentation was clean and perfect. I've been going to the Tap Room for years in Patchogue but it's been pretty awful since COViD hit, so tried the Bay Shore location and I am happy I did! Outdoor eating a lot less crowded, friendlier staff, better craft beer list, and fresher food (same food menu, but tasted like just made vs premade in Patchogue). Perfect place to have a relaxed happy hour or watch sports games with a crowd. The layout lets it feel wide open while letting people feel part of the crowd. Our bartender, Sirena, was covering both outside and the bar and had impeccable timing of when to check in on us and was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I was ready to give up on the Tap Room franchise but the Bay Shore location has changed my mind! read more

Truly random pick in my Bay Shore exploring. Tap Room is conveniently located on Main Street a short walk from the LIRR station. This is a pretty normal sports bar vibe with nice updated seaside theme decor (think driftwood planks and nautical color scheme). It felt nice and open and spacious on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I prefer this vibe to dark and cave like bars. We were seated immediately and our waitress was friendly. I tried the Sunday $5 Druken German style mussels and the boyfriend got the jalapeno peppers. The mussels were value for money definitely. The poppers were u expectedly gourmet in presentation and ingredient. Had some micro greens as garnish on top which definitely was unexpected and the item is best ate with utensils. Flavors are wonderful for both dishes. Boyfriend also found a seasonal craft beer on tap - the Pumpkinhead. It was served with a cinnamon and sugar rimmed glass. I had thr Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin. Very hoppy. Overall great experience and a good hangout place I am sure for chilling out with a couple of pints and watching some sports TV. I'm hoping this is growing pains. Our visit was honestly 2.5 stars at best. But I'm giving 5 to not hurt a small business and hoping they read this and make some changes. We went on a Saturday for lunch when they opened at noon. I got their first and waited for my husband and daughter to arrive. They brought water but after 15-20 mins I had to flag the server to ask to put in some chips and salsa because I was starving. Fairly certain the salsa is Tostitos brand. Family finally arrived and we ordered pretzel, a burger for my husband and the strawberry salad. Pretzel was yummy and my husband said it was a really good burger. I got a cucumber vodka drink which was refreshing. Here's the not so great. They didn't or don't have sparkling water so I ordered a seltzer with lime. It had a strange sweet taste to it and definitely wasn't good - not sure if the line needs to be cleaned. The salad said it came with candied walnuts they were just plain but the kicker was almost 1/3 of the mixed greens shouldn't have been served they were starting to get slimy and withered looking. I placed them on the plate the pretzel came with because it was inedible - I even ate a piece by accident and it tasted rancid. When it opened on their website it said to download the bekind app and if you spent $75 they'd give $25 off. Well when we went to pay the bill and use the app lo and behold the Huntington location isn't set up. We asked the server if the manager could do anything. He came back by himself and said no. Honestly the manager should have come over. Asked how the meal was - at that point I would have mentioned my greens and attempted to do something. Instead she couldn't be bothered and sent him and there were less than 10 people in there so it wasn't as if she was swamped. I'll probably give it another try in a few months and hopefully the kinks are worked out and they get their service together (although the service team seemed to be the same from the craft room). read more

I'm fan of their other locations so I'm happy one opened closer to me. It's pretty spacious inside, not sure if it's packed on the weekends but it was a decent crowd for a Wednesday night. My friend and I split the spicy pickles and dragon wontons for apps-the pickles were not spicy but still good. The wontons were excellent tho! Very flavorful and a little spicy! I got the chicken alla vodka sandwich with truffle fries and it was as amazing as it sounds! It was huge so I took most of it home but immediately ate the rest of the fries when I got home. It came on garlic bread which added a nice touch. My only complaint was the drinks, both were disappointing and weak. I tried the strawberry basil mule and a rum with Diet Coke, I didn't even taste the rum. That was a bummer but I'll still be back. Our server was very friendly and attentive! read more

Love this place and wish it was located in Babylon village! Watch out for their BOGO offers on ubereats every now and then for deals you seriously cannot beat! Some of my favs are their spinach and artichoke dip served with warm pita bread, their Mac & cheese balls and their strawberry salad. I love that you can add a speciality salad for only +$2 on the side of a sandwich instead of fries. This place is a total rip off. Ordered a cauliflower salad through Uber Eats. For $12 I received a box full of spinach with 4 pieces of cauliflower, and a couple pieces of cheese. There was no dressing included, and when I called the restaurant, the hostess asked if I wanted to drive to the restaurant to get dressing after waiting for an hour for the order to get to my house. For $12 I could buy 4 bags of spinach from the grocery store with ranch dressing from my fridge, which is essentially what Tap Room served. My second time eating here. It's a bit noisy but the food is why I love this place! The first time I went I had a cheeseburger and fries. It was like I never tasted a cheeseburger like this. It was so delicious. The fries came with a dipping sauce that was out of this world! I went again this past Saturday before going to the Bolton center for a concert. I had the Philly cheesesteak! It was my second time back to this location and what a different experience. We were greeted right away by two girls who gave us options on where we would like to be seated and sat us right away. I had the beer flight and was able to pick 6 different beer. All were cold. We ordered a few apps to share and they were so so good. The spinach dip came with such a big portion. We were weary of the pita chips that came with it but they had paired really well. The boneless wings were cooked perfectly and had just enough bbq sauce. We also tried the Bavarian pretzel. On the crispier side but ended up being very good. Different dipping sauces as well. A few people checked on us while we sat and ate which was nice.
