I like this location and I like the vibe of eating out in the courtyard which I did both times as well. Parking is annoying, but that's to be expected at the train station. Been to this location two times so I'll be writing my review on both experiences because I ordered the sliders 2 times. Staff is friendly and the service was great. The first time they were delicious and what I expect from the quality of a Tap Room location. The second time they were not, overcooked and dry with little juice. My friend ordered 2 Mojitos each visit and both times they did not muddle the mint in the drink, taking away from the full flavor I will return to this location and update the rating based on averages because I know you guys can do better! read more

First things first, I do want to point out the inconvenience of parking at this establishment. The parking is on the pricey side just for a couple hours and the app/website to pay for parking is extremely inconvenient. I do not think that the restaurant has control over that, but the plaza area that it's placed makes it such an inconvenient place to eat. My rating makes it clear that it also was not worth the time, money, nor the inconvenience of eating here. So you're just better off going somewhere else. Furthermore, trying to find the right door to this place is like trying to find Waldo within a minute of looking in the book. I was going around the whole building until I found the door. 1. The Cheeseburger Egg Rolls: this was actually the best dish out of the bunch. I enjoyed the flavor of the egg rolls and the sauce along with it was quite nice. 2. I had The Smokehouse Smash Burger and my friend had the Chicken Avocado Wrap. -The Smokehouse Smash Burger was extremely lackluster. No juiciness in the burger at all. Either I'm just not a fan of Smash Burgers or Smash Burgers just generally are bad because it was not appetizing whatsoever. My fries were excessively salty (in case the photo doesn't do much justice). We have salt and pepper seasoning on the table. Why does the chef feel the need to douse my fries in a ton of salt? I had to scrape off the salt piece by piece just to appreciate the taste of the fries. -The Chicken Avocado Wrap my friend had also came with sweet potato fries. Which again, were just as salty. The wrap was falling apart. The chicken inside the wrap had a bunch of tendons in it. Definitely not what a wrap should have. The Service was mediocre. Our waitress was nice, but not at all attentive. My friend couldn't wait to get going and leave so she had to leave without me because of how much pain she was in from sitting too long. She reported about the bad sweet potato fries and then it took forever for the new batch to come out. Not sure if it's the fault of chef or the waitress, but she was already done with her wrap by the time the waitress arrived to say the fries are coming out soon. So my friend told her they're not worth it anymore. They did refund for the fries I believe, but if the waitress had been more attentive to who she was assigned to, maybe the fries would've been handled in a timely manner, but I digress. The chef is also to blame for this lackluster meal that my friend and I had to tolerate. I'm sorry, but with The Tap Room, I am Tapping out! I will not be coming back to this place. Not just the fact that the food was mostly bad. Not just the fact that the service was poor. The parking! That's another batch of money I will never get back. Very comfortable pub. The wall was open to invite you into the bar area. When we arrived there was a guitar player. We were seated in the dining area quickly. It was Friday and a party of 5. The review of the drinks is mixed. I enjoyed the mocktail, 'Spice up your life'. The Moscow mule was a disappointment, but the Bees Knees got thumbs up. The beer menu is extensive and the beer drinkers were happy with their options. We ordered the Crispy Dragon Wonton and hot honey Brussels as appetizers. Both were delicious! It was a beautiful summer afternoon today here in Long Island. I've had a long hard work week. I wanted to hit up happy hour. So I was looking for places in my area. I decided to try Tap Room. Mind you this was my 1st time at any Tap Room. I went as early as I could for happy hour it starts at 3pm. I arrived by 3:45pm Ish. The bar was packed. On a Monday afternoon? I decided to get a table instead. I would have been the oldest person at the bar at 47 and probably the only woman. I think I'm officially old. When does Gen X happy hour start? I kinda knew my visit wasn't gonna be good. Especially when I got water and it was body temperature. I was already sweating from the heat and the change of life. The water glass could have been run through the dishwasher again. My silverware was dirty. Good thing they had linen napkins for me to clean them up with. The food and drink were lackluster. I ordered the mussels marinara with a side of truffle fries. My mussels were lukewarm and the fries were cold. They were both delicious but not the right temperature. I ordered a side Caesar salad and balsamic brussel sprouts. Caesar salad really isn't hard to mess up. But the sprouts. I thought they would be crispy with a nice balsamic glaze. They were just boiled disappointments tossed in balsamic vingear. Please tell the kitchen staff to get it together. I washed down this dreadful meal with what I thought was a passionfruit sangria. Everyone's a sucker for sodium drenched, sub-par food, even me at times; that's exactly what tap room is, cholesterol inducing delight. The vodka chicken sandwich is good with its parm-laden sauce, okay quality chicken, sorta dry-ish bread; always immediate indigestion, but the good kind..? Doesn't compare to the galleria, but nothing does. I recently had the steak frites and loved it, again, it was salty but it hit the spot, there's about an entire sack of potatoes on the plate, but they taste fantastic. The mussels and wings are always a solid bet, but I realllllly miss the strawberry fields salad... the new salads sorta blow. This locations about my favorite with what they did to the interior, but it's a typical Tap Room experience you'd expect. I'm in monthly maybe, with the convenient location, but I like having conversations with my bartenders and this just isn't the typical vibe there. We were seated right away (because there was barely anyone in there) and the place had a sour smell to it. It's unfortunate to see negative experiences at newish Yelp locations. Looks like there was some questionable stuff that happened one night at this new Tap Room in Station Yards as per the reviews and low score, but I wasn't there for this and hope it's an anamoly. Instead I have my own experience to write about that was honestly a superbly solid four star evening with glimmers of five stars on the horizon. My buddy and I met up and headed over to Tap Room at Station Yards where there is indeed free parking in the garage for up to 3 hours. The interior of TR is pretty big which is great because a place like this right at the train station is definitely going to bring in the crowds. Luckily, we snagged a table before there was a wait and were promptly greeted by our very personable and friendly waitress. She told us about some exclusive menu items, seasonal stuff, and her own personal favorites (which I did order one of them, but more on that in a sec). To start, my buddy and I each got a beer from Tap Room's reasonably respectable tap list. It's not the most in depth or eclectic group of craft beers, but they have some local goodies and a nice variety in general. From there, we shared the birria egg rolls which were meaty, cheesy, crunchy, creamy, and...well...tasty! My main dish was the shrooms and bulbs burger (you can guess what was on it, but add Swiss cheese) along with Cajun sweet potato fries. The burger was good though I'll say it definitely could have been a little meatier and maybe needed a bit of sauce to help spruce the flavors up. The fries were fantastic with a sweet sauce on the side which was a nice addition. Rounding out the grub, I took the advice of our waitress and ordered the hot honey Brussels sprouts to try as well. These did not disappoint and were probably the best part of the meal. Crisp with pieces of bacon and apple to create a bitter/sweet/tangy combination that I would gladly order again (and again). Yum. Overall, Tap Room of Ronkonkoma at Station Yards is a legitimate spot to get your grub on with a few food winners as well as some items that could use a tweak. Service, setup, (and I'll throw in pricing) are all superb and that creates a formidable location to fill your belly. It's unfortunate to read the reviews posted for this establishment and whatever happened to create a negative situation for any customers, but hopefully that is not the usual and you see more positive experiences occurring to get things headed in the right direction. First time coming to this location for the tap room! The restaurant was beautiful, very laid back felt comforting there! Bathrooms super clean (my 4yr old even said this!) our waiters name was Tyler and he was fabulous, super helpful! It is upbeat, lively, and has a great energy that makes it easy to relax and enjoy yourself whether you are there with friends or just stopping in for a drink. The staff was friendly, attentive, and kept things moving smoothly without making us feel rushed. As for the food, it was good across the board. The Tap room is huge , Went there on A Friday afternoon that became a Friday night . If you're into meeting people this is the place to do it . There's tables and a huge bar . It's partially open to the outside . Bartenders hustle and are friendly as well as efficient . Ordered some bar bites and Mussels and everything turned out great . The service was very slow, menus were dirty and sticky and the staff was inattentive at best, finally the food was horrible. My kids ordered nachos which they said were good. My whiskey burger was cold and sweet potato fries were cold, my mother ordered a wedge salad with chicken, came without chicken then they put in a "side" of chicken and it came out 15 mins later, after she was done with the salad. My wife's order was a hot mess simple fried chicken cutlet on a roll with mayo and pickles. 2 cold chicken tenders no mayo and what looked like a handful of chopped pickles. We've been waiting to go to the New Tap room and we were not disappointed. It was busy as you would imagine it would be on a beautiful Friday night. We sat outside in their outdoor patio area. The food was great the service was great and the ambiance of the outdoor seating area was nicer than you would think being so close to the train station. We ordered a number of menu items and everything was cooked perfectly and came out timely. We are excited to have this place so close to home. I'm beyond disappointed with my experience here. This restaurant claims to offer gluten-free options, but that is incredibly misleading. After asking specifically about their gluten-free items, I was reassured there were "safe" choices--only to later find out everything is fried in the same fryer as gluten-containing foods. That is basic cross-contamination, and for anyone with celiac disease or a gluten intolerance, it makes the food completely unsafe. This isn't a small oversight--it's a serious issue that can make people sick. If you're going to advertise gluten-free options, you need to actually understand what that means. What made this even worse was how it was handled. The general manager came out and seemed like he could care less about the situation or the fact that I have celiac disease. I explained that their menu is misleading and unsafe, and he had nothing to say other than a quick "I'm sorry" before walking away. No accountability, no effort to fix the issue--just completely dismissive. Staff either didn't know or didn't care enough to give accurate information, which is just as concerning. I trusted what I was told and ended up paying for it later. If you truly need gluten-free food for health reasons, do NOT rely on this place. Very misleading and honestly irresponsible read more

Dropped off some friends at the train and having heard so much about the Tap Room I figured I had enough time to stop in for a beer. It was either the Great South Bay brewing or Tap Room. I chose the Tap Room but an hour later I regretted it. I sat towards the end of the bar as the bar was mostly filled up with guests. Amy quickly welcomed me and offered me a drink menu. Amy continued attending to her guests and after a few minutes, presented me with a menu. After about ten minutes, Amy returned to my end of the bar and as she retrieved some drinks from a cooler, asked if I had decided and I told her. After about ten minutes, Amy served my beer. In that time, I met my bar stool neighbor Frank, who was clearly intoxicated drinking Dewars and Budweiser. Observing the bar, I could see numerous tickets printing from the POS. Amy was clearly overwhelmed. After some time, the bar manager, decided to help. Slowly, with no sense of urgency, he pored thru the pile of tickets that had been generated and started working through the pile. Several tap beers, Mic Ultras, and there were a number of specialty drinks. One which included a red syrup poured into a martini glass at which time, bar manager noticed bugs in the bottom of he glass and then, upon inspection, in the bottle of red syrup. As he worked through the list, a female guest approached him asking if her drinks were coming that were ordered thirty minutes ago. She said she was seated outside on the patio and thought the order was lost. Anyway, you get the idea. I asked for a check and after another ten minutes or so, got the check and handed a ten dollar bill to Amy. Amy returned with my change minutes later after bar manager asked me, "did she bring you your change yet?" All in all, I left very disappointed prompting me to submit this review. When my friends come back from their trip and I pick them up at Ronkonkoma, I'll certainly suggest we go to GSB. read more

I usually go on Sundays to watch football and eat mussels, and I was very excited when they opened the Ronkonkoma location, but I won't be going anymore. The bartenders were not friendly and didn't give me the points I earned. We ended up leaving and ate at Vespa instead, which was awesome. I'm so upset and wanted to let people know--stay away.
