The good- one member of the staff ( I wish I got her name) she was genuinely caring and super kind and accommodating when we asked to move outside as the inside was way too loud (big crowd at the bar and super loud music to go along with it) and overstimulating for us. The food was also very good. My son loved the churro fries for dessert! The not so great- our waitress, while pleasant, disappeared toward the end of our stay (when we were thinking about maybe ordering another round of drinks, needing boxes for our leftovers and eventually, ready to pay the bill). It was the same situation for the couple across from us as well. Getting someone else to help was not an easy task. Not the best look. Overall, it was an alright experience. What a gem! It's a small place, but they can seat about 30 people indoors during the winter. In the summer, they add outdoor tables, which creates a really nice and lively atmosphere. I ordered the bowl and it was absolutely out of this world--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly put together. The service was just as great. Came for happy hour while watching the live music on the green. I put my name down and was able to get an outdoor table within 5-7 minutes. The Parking was free in the nearby public garage for up to 3 hours. We enjoyed the margaritas, loaded nachos, and pork & chicken nachos. Our hostess and waitress were both kind and attentive. I love the vibe here. I went on a Friday night. They had a DJ towards the end of the night. The DJ was hitting, he was really good. He played 90's r&b and hip hop. Lucharitos, a chain restaurant on LI, is a brand new restaurant in the middle of the newly constructed Station Yards in Ronkonkoma. Went there on a Monday afternoon for lunch which as expected was quiet so I really got to see the operation of this place not under any pressure. I'm cautiously optimistic! There are many great points to make. Walking in we were immediately greeted by a very friendly server. After she sat us, she walked us through the menu, made recommendations, and was very enthusiastic. Our server, Lauren definitely takes pride in this place and the product which was refreshing. The menu looks great, and a bunch of exciting items. Our first outing, this is what we ordered: Appetizer: jalapeño poppers Tacos: Carne Asada Taco, Grilled Shrimp Taco, Crescent Farm Duck Taco (2), Coconut Shrimp Taco, BBQ Pulled Pork Taco. Drinks: classic margaritas (2) The jalapeño poppers were incredible. A must try! According to them, it's made fresh every day. Judging this, I would have to agree. Really great start. The tacos overall were tasty and we enjoyed them. Are they the best tacos out there? No, however we enjoyed the fresh ingredients and flavor. There are a bunch more we haven't tried yet so we'll see. Notes to make: The carne asada taco was delicious but was very light and not a great size portion unfortunately. Another note to make was the duck taco. Was intrigued, but it sadly was a bit of a disappointment. Although the toppings were on point, the meat was dry! Duck is hard protein to hit. Overall the construction of it was a bit messy as well. Classic margaritas: ON POINT! Great size, clean, and good tequila! I think the value is there for what they provide. Very satisfied! This Lucharitos was pretty nice. It's right next to the Ronkonkoma Train Station, making it really convenient to grab a good bite if it works out with the timing of the train schedule. If you aren't taking the train and plan on parking at Station Yards it can be a bit of a pain to park on the street. There is a parking garage at Station Yard for residents and guests, but all parking is paid parking both for the garage and the street. The food here was good and menu what you can expect from a Lucharitos! Service was friendly and quick! They've got about 6 tables and some bar seats, so the place is pretty small and filled up quickly when we went at 2PM on a Saturday. We started with the chips and guac which was tasty. My wife got a fresh veggie taco & a thai chili cauliflower taco. I got the BBQ pork burrito. Our mains were tasty too, but my wife did say that the mixed veggie taco was a bit basic/bland (okay if you're seeking that, not what she was looking for today). I think we'd come back, especially because of the convenience if we're taking the train. read more

Went here for Grooves on the Green today. The food tasted good, and our waitress was nice, but the food took FOREVER. My wife and I ordered an app, burrito & one taco for a meal. It took an hour for our burrito and taco to come out and 50 minutes for our app. When asked, she explained they only had one cook. On an event day nonetheless!? We had our baby with us so it took so long I asked for our meals to-go. Got the bill and our app (wings) was $22 for 10 wings, which is just crazy to me. Least she could've done was comp something for the hour wait for a burrito. There's too many well known places at Station Yards for them to mess up service so badly. Came in to catch up with friends. The food was really good which was surprising because I've been to the Melville one and it was HORRIBLE. The station yards location was really small. Smaller than I expected, but very nice! We got a table right away during happy hour which was AMAZING! $6 margaritas and draft beers. For 3 people with food, appetizer, and alcohol it was $80 before tip. Really surprised at how good the prices were (for current inflation standards ) Out waitress was nice - a little overly attentive stopping by every few minutes - but I rather that than not at all. Came here hoping for a fun night with the girls--margaritas and good food--but it didn't really hit the mark. The service was very slow, even though the staff was friendly. We waited about 20 minutes just to have our order taken, and the food took a long time to come out. On top of that, we were waiting outside in the cold with the wind blowing, which made it even more frustrating. As for the food, we weren't impressed. The empanadas were overly oily, and the tacos barely had any meat. The sauces were pretty bland, which made it hard to enjoy the meal. The drinks were just okay--very sugary, and even after having three each, it still felt like there was barely any alcohol in them, just a lot of sugar. Overall, the restaurant has a nice vibe and seems like it could be a great spot, but between the long wait times and underwhelming food and drinks, it just didn't live up to expectations. read more

The coconut shrimp tacos and the classic shrimp tacos were bomb! The ingredients were super fresh. The shrimp wasn't over cooked. My husband had the el pastor too. He said it was yummy. My daughter had a chicken and cheese quesadilla. The chicken was super delicious and I took a bite of it. We opted for both desserts. The churro fries and tres leches cake was also really good. Can't review the food, because we didn't get to that point. The service was terrible. Went in for a table, was pointed to a table, and told somebody will be right over with menus and to help you. Sat at the table for 20 minutes. Servers are walking by us the whole 20 minutes, but nobody stops at our table, brings us menus or takes drink orders. Wasn't crowded or very busy, and now I know why. Finally just got up and left. May try one of the different locations for the food, but will never go back to the Ronkonkoma location. read more

We ordered the pollo loco burrito, chips with queso and 3 fried chicken tacos. Everything was bad. The chips tasted like Tostitos and the queso was not even queso it was yellow melted nacho cheese, which also had no flavor. The 3 tacos were chicken tenders with hardly any cheese on them in taco shells you could buy at the store. Chicken in the burrito was dry and the rice was hard like it was undercooked. I usually love this place as I work near one of the locations out east but not only is the size too small, the service is slowwwwww. Went today with my sister and son. No one came over for about 8 minutes from sitting down. I knew that we should order everything right away as I had a feeling it would be a while even though it was NOT busy at all. We sat outside and no waters offered, no utencils or napkins unless we asked for this all. 3:27 exactly was when we gave our order - drinks came 3:40. Sour and too sweet. Food came 4:05!!! Nachos came out right away but we only had two tacos each and a bowl of rice for my son. Nachos soggy and overall just disappointed in how long we waited. I get that maybe short staffed or still new location but even when food finally came, never asked if we even wanted another drink which, at that point we didn't and just wanted to get home. Bill was a lot but still tipped well but I'm sad to say won't eat there unless a weeknight maybe or just for a quick drink. We live close by too so I was very bummed. Patio will be busy in the summer and I hope service improves. Everyone was super friendly but slow!! Usually don't complain but was my sister's first time and it definitely turned her off and I was so bummed how long we waited. Not a relaxing fun experience - lots of waiting.
