Being in Portland for the first time we had to find a Haitian Restaurant . And We did., this place was cute staff was nice. The Griot was good , the rice smelled like it was made with coconut so I didn't try it- (I'm allergic ) the pickles was hitting !!! I would definitely recommend going.

Absolutely in love with this place! The service was some of the best I've had in a long while. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I had never had Haitian food so they guided me thru the menu and picked the perfect option The black rice was so good I immediately tried to look up ways to make it at home. It definitely won't be as good but I live in Phx and can't take this place with me so I have to figure it out. Their Tap Tap sauce... I want to take a case home it's ridiculously delicious! It's definitely spicy though so beware. I can't say enough good things about this place and can't wait to come back to town just to come visit. :)

Tried this place for the first time and the food and service were amazing. The food was nice and hot and the flavors took us to the islands! The staff was nice and friendly and the tropical music in the background all together set a great atmosphere.

This establishment is truly incredible. I was first introduced to it via a Yelp event, where their samples immediately blew me away. I was so impressed that I made sure to bring visiting friends here to experience it fully, and the visit certainly did not disappoint. The flavors of the food and drinks are unlike anything I have ever experienced. This is one of those undiscovered gems that I predict will soon become a major success. I genuinely loved every dish I tried. Top Recommendations: Drinks: The Bon Bon Milk and The Banana Old Fashioned. Appetizer: The beef Paté. Main Course: The Combo Plate. Pro Tip: Make sure to try a dish featuring plantains and don't miss out on their signature dipping sauce and house-made hot sauce! Beyond the exquisite food, the ambiance features a chill, modern, and perfectly executed vibe. The service was equally impressive--incredibly thoughtful and friendly. I felt genuinely well-cared for, leaving both happy and completely satisfied.

Had heard great things and wanted to check the place out. Evening is nice and cozy, and service is very friendly. The drink menu is awesome and I'd go back for that alone. The food was pretty much all fried, and quite heavy, but super crispy. The slaw was really nice to offset some grease. Not as much spice as I'd hoped for but, all good. Solid comfort food. Will for sure be back to try some other items.

I've now been here a few times, and I absolutely love this place. If you're looking for a unique, warm food experience where you can talk with the chef, this is the place. I love the interior, and I like that it fits every single need. Romantic spot? Check. Solo adventure or first date? Check. Family dinner? Absolutely. My kid loves their food, and you can order custom smoothies to die for. I honestly recommend trying anything and everything. The cocktails are good, too. Come hungry, leave bewildered. Then come back. They've had new menu items every visit (and some important familiars), which will keep us coming back.

Yesterday, I enjoyed a day trip to Portland, Oregon. My last visit to Portland was last June 2024, for my birthday. During that trip, we visited the Tap Tap Cuisine food truck on Williams Street, where the food was exceptionally delicious. This time, I decided to try Tap Tap Cuisine PDX on Sandy Boulevard. I was so surprised that the owner remembered me and my two friends from the previous year. While I find it hard to believe, the food tasted even better than before. Both the food and service were truly outstanding, deserving a perfect score. I ordered my usual Griot (pork), which came with fried plantains and pikliz. Additionally, I ordered a side of rice and beans. To my delight, a container of sauce was provided on the side. I also purchased a bottle of pikliz to enjoy when I prepare my own version of "griot" at home. The brief wait is certainly worthwhile, as the food is freshly prepared with evident care and passion. The generous portions required three sittings to finish the entire meal. Their consistency in the preparation of the food and customer service are two important reasons their brand is growing. I wish you continued success.

This is a wonderful place to come to for drinks and apps. The drinks here all look spectacular and the appetizer menu is where I think the value and flavor is at. We came here as a family and weren't sure if the good is family style or per person so we ended up ordering way too much and it was a lil spendy. So if I were to do it over again, I would maybe stick to their appetizer menu that has some great choices and flavors. I also don't drink but my step daughter had a drink and it was a beautiful island looking thing and will have you dreaming of carribean beaches and sunshine. I had the Fried Yucca as an appetizer and it was sooooo good. I ordered the chicken and was trying to keep it healthy as they offer fried or baked. The dark meat leg was good but the breast was huge and as a result, it wasn't as juicy as I had hoped for. We also ordered the Diri Blan which was an eggplant stew with beef and we had one with goat. Probably could've shared just one of these. We also had some lettuce wraps and some other items but I honestly can't remember the names of them for the photos. I will have to try to look it up and add that. The service here is so friendly and the owner is just the nicest guy and I hope he prospers.

Authentic ethnic food! I recently came here for a solo date to write, it's gorgeous inside and the ambience is very posh, but still down to earth. The food was amazing and so flavorful and so well seasoned, it took me back to the island. They have great vegan options as well.

The food the chef-owner and his mom and even a visiting friend/artist of all the in-house art were warm, friendly and couldn't be nicer! Our friend who had been there a few months ago highly recommended this place n since I'm the only one out of the three of us who has not tried Haitian food we thought why not an added adventure to the already fun day (we're a group of 3... 2 from Seattle n 1 from Boston) We had the fried taro from appetizers, the chicken pate l, the beet n potato salad, the perfectly grilled pompano and green savory plantain - n we ordered more taro sticks n pates to bring home as well! Ohhhh n chef makes his own hot sauce!! Look out for it! It's delish!!! We brought some home too... ok we bought six bottles home lol!

I really wanted to like this place and have no idea how it has been given so many 5 star reviews. My creole chicken was dry and extremely oily. I tried eating most of it because I was so hungry after being there a couple hours wait. Everything that my friends group was served was dry, and didn't look like the pictures people have shown. One of my friends literally had to spit her food out because it was so disgusting. Upon looking at it more closely, it was bubbly which would have meant it had gone bad.

Great food, service and ambiance. I had the creole chicken with a side of rice and beans. Started with the lettuce wraps and Akra, which were both excellent choices. Definitely coming back again.

You would see that it's going to a motel, you would think to add the silverware. Fortunately, I was able to get silverware from my motel's breakfast room. The lumpia were very good. They were not greasy at all. They are smaller than standard eggrolls, but because they use more meat and less veggies than your standard eggroll, they pack a lot more flavor. Everything inside was seasoned well, and I really enjoyed them. They came with a vinegar based dipping sauce that I liked The "garlic Ponzu" salmon poke? No, not nearly as good. For the price they were charging, it was not a very big portion. Besides that, it just wasn't that good. A good salmon is normally pink to orange. This salmon was barely pink. I couldn't taste the garlic or the Ponzu at all. The veggies were crisp, the rice was a good quality, but there was just no seasoning. The salmon was very bland. I didn't know if it was just because of the seasoning, maybe they used a low quality or a previously, frozen salmon. I love good salmon. This was not good salmon. For the price I paid, not counting the DoorDash fees because those are added in anyway, I just felt I didn't get my moneys worth. Next time I'm in the area, I will find another place. Thanks anyway.

We were warmly greeted, seated in a booth, and promptly served a basket of crispy tortilla chips and homemade salsa. The family-friendly atmosphere had a cozy neighborhood destination vibe. We shared a carne asada platter with a chile relleno and taco al pastor. The carne asada was amazing! Generous portion of grilled meat that was perfectly seasoned. All the sides you would want...guac, pico de gallo, sour cream, grilled scallion and jalapeño, rice, beans cheese plus your choice of tortillas to wrap it all up in. The chile relleno had lots of melty cheese and was thinly battered, just my style. So much yummy food, plenty for two. We had grapefruit Jaritos and n/a Corona but the margaritas look to be very popular, we even saw several huge ones with two straws being shared. Cannot comment on dessert, not enough room. We will definitely be back. Perfect pre-theater dinner and looks to be a great spot for family dining. We'll be back!!

Chips and salsa were both weak. Most restaurants at least heat/refry the chips. The Chile Relleno is the eggy batter kind, with low-end chile like you'd find in a can. If this is the only familiar style of chili relleno then do yourself a favor and try the version at Salsas Locas in Southeast. Now that's something to brag about. The lunch special taco is only available in hard shell with a limited choice of ground beef (yuck), chicken or bean and cheese. The whole thing is topped with shredded iceberg lettuce (double yuck) then drowned in old school ranchero sauce with gobs of cheese. Very 1980s like. That said, the soft taco with carnitas was very good! So it seems like they have a mishmash of gringo Mexican and some authentic dishes. The interior is very inviting while the service was friendly and fast. Only saw Mexican staff and Mexican customers, a good thing. One and done for me, but many will enjoy this type of venue.
