My husband and I stopped here before going to the movies for a cold refreshing drink. We haven't had a lot of boba tea before. But we can say the tea here is delicious. We both got refreshers. I had pineapple and passion fruit with traditional tapioca pearls, and my husband got strawberry lemonade with strawberry jellies. Both were delicious. I got 25% sweet, and that was definitely sweet enough for us. He got 75% and said he would go lower on the sweetener next time. Checked out their new location at the Pointe at Barclay. It's located next to waxing the city. Inside there are four small tables, three countertop stools, and comfortable couches for sitting and outdoor 2 tables. This would be a nice casual spot to catch up with a friend over boba drinks. They have a sign at the front door that requests you to fill out an order form before going to the counter. There are some snack items, including Pocky, Yan Yan, Hi-Chew. I tried the popular special-tea slush tea drink called White Dragon, which is a mixture of white peach and passonfruit flavor with your choice of tea. I chose black tea and added boba and mango jelly for an additional cost. I only had to wait about a couple of minutes for my drink to be done. The drink itself was good and sweet, but not overly sweet. The boba was good, chewy. The mango jelly was also good-they were shaped as cute stars. My only complaint is that I could not taste the black tea. Otherwise, it was a refreshing drink to have on a hot day. They have other interesting drinks that I look forward to trying next time. read more

This was our first time visiting a tap tea bar. I loved the screen ordering that made ordering easy and customizable. I stopped up at the counter to ask about cross contamination for specific allergies and they informed me they keep their tree nut peanuts in one area and use clean containers on every tea. I love that they do this. This is located right in the historic district of Wilmington and the business is I one of the old brick buildings. It's small but cozy. read more

I had never tried Boba tea before so this was my first experience not only at this place but with this product. I came in the side door so missed the sign where it explains you fill out a form and turn it in to order. The girl working was very nice. There are a lot of options and being new to this it was slightly confusing and overwhelming. I decided on their strawberry shortcake milk tea drink using green tea. I missed some things so when I turned it in the girl working asked me a few questions to help finish my order. There were strawberry bubbles/poppers in my drink, which was a fun new thing. The space itself was welcoming with a few tables, a comfy couch and bar seating along the window. I'm glad to know about this place and have a new drink option nearby. There were a lot of interesting menu items so i definitely want to go back and try and few more things. read more

What a neat find @ Barclay Pointe , it's located near Crave HotDogs and Barbecue. It's cozy inside , a few tables and chairs . The staff are super friendly and helpful . I had no idea what to order , but I got walked through the menu options , came away with a milk tea, classic , it was an iced beverage. I love the top it came with , not a snap on , it was a sealed to the cup . It was super tasty and dreamy . A place I will definitely return to . read more

Locally owned in Wilmington!! Support small business. Love the variety of options and it can't be a bit overwhelming with the paper pad menu. It doesn't really explain what a Frostea includes so it's ice cream with their nondairy creamer so you can help gauge your sugar level if you order that option. I've only been to traditional bubble tea places with either milk or slush tea, so that was different . Also the poppers added will make it extra sweet as well, I've only seen those at FroYo places. We ordered vanilla chai twist with n classic milk tea with tiger brown sugar drizzle and boba-25% sugar and it was just right not too sweet and so full of flavor. The other frostea was blueberry vanilla chai with blueberry poppers at 25% sugar and soo sweet so next time would do 0% sugar due to poppers are pretty much 100% sugar. Love the decor and atmosphere. Firstly, I love Tap Tea. I've been going there since they opened over on Racine. Now, I usually frequent the Barclay Pointe location. I found out today that if you order a decaf tea, you don't get tea. Their decaf tea is water. Yes, water. I think they should disclose this fact on their menu or order some decaf tea. And, they should not be charging for tea when it is just water. What in the world? This won't keep me from going back, but if anyone in my party wants decaf, we will now understand that they aren't getting tea...just flavored water. read more

The tea is so yummy. My family and I came to visit over the weekend and we stopped in 3 times. The owner is a very nice young man who takes pride of what her serves to his customers. We will be back every time we visit Wilmington. read more

I am so so so happy there is a Tap Tea Bar location near my house! When I need a quick pick me up or treat, this is one of my go-tos! I had an Attractions Book coupon to use one day that was a BOGO for any size tea, so I was super excited to choose two different teas to enjoy. When you go in, there are pads of papers on the right side with pencils so you can select how you want your boba tea made- sugar level, caffeine level, flavor(s), type of tea, add-ins, etc. It's a bit overwhelming at first, so one thing they offer is a board up front hanging above the cashiers with different specialty options you can choose. Then you don't have to worry about knowing all the different options if you don't want to create your own. I like creating my own, so I decided to get lavender vanilla chai as one of mine and pumpkin spice as the other. The great thing is that these stay pretty good in the fridge overnight so I had one in the afternoon and the other was breakfast the next day! read more

Have gone to the Tap Tea Bar in Barclay Pointe many times and have always had a great experience. Today, however, was much different. I placed an order online and when I picked it up they couldn't tell me which drink was which (they were made of the same base). I explained that we are not going to drink after each other plus there are allergens in one of the drinks that one of the consumers could not have. I asked the girl to remake the drinks because this was truly the only viable option. She informed me she could not and would not remake the drinks and suggested I sniff them to differentiate. The rudeness and audacity of this young girl truly took me by surprise, as I have always had a great experience here in the past. read more

Recently I was turned on to Boba Tea / Bubble Tea...whichever way you want to call it, so I took a trip to Tap Tea Bar at the Pointe for lunch. I wasn't hungry but I knew my body needed some energy and figured this would be a great spot to try out. Walking in, it was quaint, homey and decorated nicely. The staff assisted me when I tried to figure out how to fill in the order sheet since I had no clue what a few of the "toppings" were all about. I made the choice to go with the cookies & cream frostea (regular size) and asked the kind barista to make it the way she would. It was delicious. I'm still trying to get used to chewing on tapioca balls after I take a drink, but they are incredibly flavorful. I was more than pleased with this beverage...especially for just $6 and change, and I'm looking forward to trying out another one of these from Tap very soon. Jacob and Mars are incredible. Not only do they provide great customer service but recognize us and I always make the best drinks. We did pay the $35 to get the cup and appreciate the discount that comes with it, however I don't think All staff are properly Trained as half the time when we order a large, we get half a cup. The thing that bothers me the most is that the hard-working team doesn't get the tips unless you provide it with cash. Certainly the owner can figure out a way to divide the total tips electronically received with the team. This is a mixed review because we do love the product but we would love consistency and we would like the staff to be paid for all of their efforts especially those that do such a great job. I used to come here all the time and loved it until today, I went in to try something different and the girl working suggested a drink for me to try, after I tried it I realized it was way too sweet for me so I kindly asked if I could exchange for a different drink and she said I would have to pay for a whole new drink and management told her to do so...
