It's quite dangerous this shop is close to my home because the boba tea is addictive! Delicious flavors to try and mix together and their ability to cater to specific taste buds is wonderful. The staff is always friendly and prompt, and even when the line is out the door I don't have to wait too long. I've never seen the place less than shining clean (and that goes for the bathrooms as well). Their addition of games is really neat for people who go to hang out, and there's desserts and drinks other than boba as well. Overall, one of my favorite places in Wilmington to go and strawberry-matcha boba always makes my day better! read more

I've been here several times to give it a shot. The tea and drinks are amazing. The workers? They're rude as all hell. Slamming cigs on a counter snapping at customers taking too long, sighing and rolling eyes and making my and my friends stay really uncomfortable. They don't smile, they basically toss the drinks at you and hardly give you any second thought. Normally I don't care much for lack luster service but to talk to blatantly rude to my friends and I right in our faces is really stupid. I saw the rating and thought this place was going to be decent and I was terribly dissatisfied. The shop was cute and a cool hang out spot but the tea was terrible. It doesn't even taste like they brew any leaves in their tea. Just straight water with soggy flavorless bobas. Also, all the flavors are either powder or syrup. If you're going there for the first time and you don't know if you should get boba ask to try it first because it's very unique and in my opinion, great. whatever you do don't get the flavor lavender it's very gross my favorite is blue Hawaii or mango, blueberry is delicious as well. You can get frosteas which are like tea milkshakes they're cold and thick and really great. If your thinking about trying this place out but don't know, I 100% recommend. I recently moved to the Wilminton area. I am used to having lots of bubble tea options. So I was happy to find one place in the area that has great bubble tea! Tap Tea Bar is great. They have a great menu with lots of options from milk teas, to regular teas (green and black) and some sweet drinks as well. They also have lots of drink filling options too. My favorites are the pearls and rainbow jelly. Highly recommend this place. Its on par with a lot of the ones I've been to in Los Angeles. read more

I want to preface by saying I have never had boba tea, however my sister and her friends frequent this shop and will no longer be doing so. I am only in town to see my sister and I never have had boba so she wanted to take me to her favorite spot to let me try it for the first time. My sisters normal drink consist of a Lavendar Milk Tea with Blueberry boba poppers. However, today when I went with her and ordered the drink she recommended it was rather.... gross. I don't say this from my verdict alone, as my sister and her friend were with me and tried the drink as well. They both shuddered and made faces of disgust after sipping the drink. They relayed to me that the drink has never tasted like that and that we should go back inside to get it fixed because maybe it was made wrong by accident. Upon walking back in we told the workers there that they must've made the drink wrong and kindly asked for a remake. We sat the drink on the counter for them so they could trash it or do whatever it is with it. The two workers stood there for a moment staring at us and then went to look at the ticket which clearly said "Lavender Milk Tea w/ oolong base and blueberry poppers", the worker who had made the drink looked at the other worker and said "i made a lavender tea" and no further questions were asked. They walked back over to us with a furrowing in their eyebrows and said "we made a lavender tea, no exchanges." We just stood and stared, wondering how making a new drink in the correct way would be considered an "exchange" and not just fixing a mistake. You can go to any place such as starbucks, dunkin, heck even a normal restaurant and they will fix a drink for you if it's not correct. For a first time it wasn't that great and my sister and her friends have informed me they won't be going to that location any longer but instead will go to the Tap Tea by the Pointe in Barclay because they make their drinks correctly and they are kind (we went to this location and had a lavender tea correctly made after the first location declined to right their wrong) . After the experience we had with the workers at the racine drive Tap Tea we no longer support that location. Hope this review is helpful for anyone new to boba tea because it can be hard trying new things and even harder when the workers are rude. read more

He explained the menu to me and recommended a wonderful strawberry kiwi refresher, made w/ oolong tea and strawberry poppers. I am a huge fan of bubble tea, so when I saw that Tap Tea opened up in Wilmington I knew I had to try it. My first visit to Tap Tea was awful but I figured since they were a new business I would give them another chance. The next couple of visits to Tap my drinks were delicious. However, after my visit on Saturday, I will not be returning. A friend of mine and I arrived at Tap around 8:50. Right when we stepped into the door we were informed if we wanted boba we would have at least a 15-20 minute wait. Seeing as we drove 40 minutes to Wilmington, we agreed it was worth the wait and paid for our drinks. A few minutes later the extremely rude male barista informed us that our drinks were done. They had no boba in them like we ordered. When we reminded him *for the third time* that we had ordered boba, he said "Oh yeah I'll throw your drinks in the freezer while you wait". Well, at 9:50, we finally received our drinks that were extremely watered down and melted at this point, with a small amount of soggy boba thrown on top of our drinks. We were in disbelief at how disgusting our drinks were, and how rude the customer service was. This is not the first time I have had a negative experience with this male associate. He and the female that were working were very rude and were slinging things around and acting angry that we chose to wait for our drinks. If the business closes at 10 pm why did they not make more boba when they ran out hours before closing? It's very disappointing that I have to go to Charlotte for good boba but worth a trip to avoid this place. read more

Been waiting for a good bubble tea place to pop up in Wilmington for a while. The inside is very spacey and the decorations are nice. This is a great place for anyone new to bubble tea because I've been bringing some friends who have never had something like this before and the staff will walk them through everything with the utmost patience. Price wise, it isn't too bad - compared to how much people are willing to spend for a drink at Starbucks. I went in and the barista suggested the flavors almond and torra milk tea so I ordered it and it was horrible not to mention the hair I found in it as well.
