Brussel sprouts

We were almost fooled by the tinted windows! We thought it was closed, nope, just a bit dark. We really enjoyed our dinner here. We started out with the brussel sprouts and they were perfect, just what we wanted. I had the chicken club which was huge and delicious. My boyfriend had the Umami chicken sandwich, he really enjoyed it. We shared the duck fries. So much food, but so good. If we lived closer it would definitely be our regular spot. Also, the peach cobbler cider and Travis, our server, was great!! Definitely recommend!

Don't let the tinted front doors fool you, it's open! Service was fantastic and the dinner options are well thought out and paired I had the Parmesan garlic wings and fries, they're gluten free and absolutely delicious I also enjoyed the cinna citra drink- light and crisp with the perfect mix of citrus, whiskey and cinnamon flavors

Good food, good drinks slow service and don't order the brussel sprouts. In defense of this establishment, we were there on December 22. Friday. It was noisy, but my crab cake burger was incredible and my husband loved The Q with Duck Fries. The brussel sprouts were very underdone...hard and difficult to chew. I ate one, barely. Sent them back. They ran out of dessert. But the price is good and for the most part a good experience. Recommend it. ( Don't eat the brussel sprouts)

It's hard to see, but the sandwich was massive! Everything was really really well done. This was our first stop on our Sioux Falls trip and the staff was super welcoming and helpful. Tons of great food options! Inside was nice, clean and relaxing.

I had the deluxe burger with fries. My husband ordered the same. Fries are $3 extra. You can share and save. They had one cider. I ordered that. Not my favorite but good. It was the middle of Monday afternoon and far from busy. Service was good. You are allowed two tastings. Restaurant was modern.

Great beer selection. First time having "duck fat fries". Nice and crispy with a little of a different flavor. Would recommend if you've not had them. I had the Ortega burger with the duck fat fries. The burger was really good, especially with the sauce. The Ortega chilles were perfect and gave the burger a good mild pepper flavor. The "queso" sauce was just the right combo. The pickled onions gave it the right punch. Could do without the corn chips. Did not add to the burger and was just meh. Suggestion to the owner, leave the corn chips out.

Good service. The burgers were excellent (although slightly overcooked for my preference). Overall, a good place to eat.

The food is a burgers/chicken and fries and tots. Ranch and Roost. It's a window service when u walk in and order from them when u want. They grind their own beef daily and it's smash burgers. We had just some fries but it was a huge cup of em'. If you've never had Mead... just try the fight choices, as it is super sweet and high alcohol content. Watch it:). They also have tap beers too. The space is surprisingly big and open. Lots of light with views of the Lake Lorraine. We will get the burger next time and go on Wednesdays.

We swung in on a Thursday evening and were immediately greeted by the couple behind the counter…read more She is the manager and he is the full-time bartender and you couldn't have a better pair serving customers! They were attentive, took time to explain the choices to us, and made recommendations. Most of us did the mead flight ($12.50 for 3 samplers) which was a great way to try different flavors. I also tried one of the cocktails using the mead (the one that had coconut and pineapple in it) and it was delicious!! It was a great place to spend ringing in my 40th birthday. The only slight negative is the tables out on the patio have seats for 4 but if you order food, most of them aren't big enough to fit 4 people. However, I did spot some larger tables down below the deck that you could seek out if you have a bigger party and want to sit outside.

Chicken sandwiches are also available. I got a burger with cheese, onions, and special sauce, a big order of sea salt fries (choose your seasoning) and 2 craft beers for $24!! The bar has about 20 seats and there's several tables for table service. Not great for a big party, but perfect for a quick, but hot delicious lunch or dinner! The bartenders were attentive and kind and I will definitely be back! I'm sad I didn't get to try the root beer float with on tap root beer for less than $5! I'll just have to go back!

One Sunday afternoon my husband and I found ourselves wandering around DTSF -- which, for…read morenon-locals, is the commonly used shorthand for Downtown Sioux Falls -- looking for a good burger place. And somehow we stumbled right into JL Beers. Or perhaps more accurately, the scent of burgers guided us there like a pair of hungry travelers following a greasy North Star. Either way, what a fantastic little find this turned out to be. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and properly satisfying in the way a good burger should be. Not overcomplicated. Not trying too hard. Just well-prepared comfort food done right. The fries were excellent too -- crisp, well-seasoned, and dangerously easy to keep eating long after I was already full. The service also impressed me quite a bit. Even on a busy Sunday afternoon, the staff remained attentive, friendly, and efficient without making us feel rushed. One unexpectedly fun part of the visit was trying non-alcoholic beer options for the first time. My husband and I are not really drinkers, so this was a little adventure for us. The sparkling hop water was surprisingly refreshing and delightful, while the Athletic non-alcoholic beer leaned a little more bitter than my personal preference. Still, I appreciated finally getting to try some of the newer NA options people have been talking about lately. And honestly, this place wound up becoming one of our gateway restaurants into exploring more of DTSF afterward. We have returned several times since, usually combining it with walks around downtown and trying other local spots nearby. Now, of course, every local already knows the true final boss battle of downtown Sioux Falls: Parking. At some point you simply accept that you are either going to circle the block repeatedly like a confused migrating bird or surrender gracefully and use one of the nearby parking garages. Which honestly is not the end of the world. The walk is good for us. At least until winter arrives and the sidewalks become an Olympic slipping event sponsored by snow, ice, and regret.
