Really cool place to hang out while passing time in Coeur d'Alene. Usually I hand out at a Brew Pub at the end of the street but I decided to bar hop and this was my second stop. It's a bicycle theme bar with tons of beach cruisers and other type of bike parts. Based on the poor service and portions of the dinner at Taphouse Unchained being unsatisfactory we were given a complimentary meal by GM Josh at either TapHouse or Tito's Italian Grill. Both restaurants owned by the CDA Resort and next door to each other. We chose having dinner at Tito's which turned out very well. My wife had a pasta dish which she enjoyed. The steak frites was flavorful, cooked medium rare as requested with a nice herb and garlic taste. The desert was exceptional, peach Crostata. The service was exceptional. I hadn't eaten here since 2015, and unfortunately, my recent visit was a huge disappointment. What happened to this place? My wife, mother-in-law, and I came specifically for the elk burgers and all ordered them medium rare - because that's how elk should be cooked for proper flavor. When the burgers arrived, we cut them in half and discovered that every single one was well done. Not one was prepared correctly. Either they were pre-cooked and reheated, or the kitchen simply didn't care. When our server checked in, we explained the issue and said we'd prefer not to eat them. She called the manager over, and that's when things got worse. To his credit, he offered to have the kitchen remake them, but knowing how kitchens react when an entire table sends food back, we declined. Then he held up the burger and claimed, "When burgers are thin, it's hard to cook them correctly." The problem? These burgers were clearly not thin...which I pointed out to him. Finally, he stormed off saying, "Fine - this is on me then, and we won't charge you." Charge us? Really? As if that was even an option after serving three inedible meals. We left and went to another spot up the street that knows how to cook a proper medium-rare burger. read more

We had a very frustrating experience at this restaurant. After being seated, we waited an unreasonably long time for our food--and watched five other parties who arrived after us get their meals first. It felt like we were completely forgotten. To make matters worse, our server never once came back to check on us or refill our drinks during the long wait. We had to flag someone down just to ask about our order. The only reason this isn't a one-star review is because, after we complained, the restaurant comped our meal. We appreciated that gesture, but honestly, the evening was already soured by the slow, inattentive service. We won't be returning. read more

Let me get my complaint out of the way up front, so I can spend most of my time talking about the good stuff: The food came out way too slow. The appetizers came quick, but we were waiting on the meals for a while. Now, with that being said, the servers were always attentive to our drinks, the appetizers were darn good, and my burger, when I got it, was hot and juicy. Think juices dripping off your fingers and you're licking them clean because it tastes so good. Plenty of different beers on tap. TVs playing but the volume is down so you can have a conversation with people. If the meals had come out quicker, I would give it five stars. read more

This was my second visit to this business. I arrived between 5 and 6. The place was crowded. Seemed the only seat was at the bar. A number of employees were pacing back and forth behind the bar. After sitting there for ten minutes I asked an employee what s man had to do to get service. He replied something about how busy they were, but I didn't see him do anything. He talked to the woman that was to be my server. I gave my drink order. She poured my beer. The man that didn't seem to be doing anything got me a glass of water. I inquired how long the wait was for food. She replied with excuses why it might take a while, asked what I wanted. I replied a pizza. She said those took the longest... but she would check. She reported about 20 minutes, a not unreasonable amount of time. I ordered. A kitchen staff member delivered my pizza. It looked good and tasted good. Toppings were a bit on the skimpy side. By this time most of the tables had cleared as did most of the bar. Like I said a kitchen staff person delivered my pizza. No plate... no silver... no napkins! No question, "can I get you anything else?" Soon my beer was empty. Still not a single employee asked how I was doing. Then finally she asked if I wanted another beverage. In all fairness she seemed to be the busiest waitress/ bartender. Finished my dinner and my beer. A second waitress asked if I wanted more water... finally after a long time with pizza gone and beer gone, after sitting there with my wallet in hands on top the mostly empty bar she asked if I was ready to close out. Oh and the pizza, well the crust was not fresh made, that was a big disappointment. Service in my opinion was miserable. Edited to add: upon reading the comment below by Cortney I sent the email requested. As of 6-20-25 @10:20 am I have not heard a peep from them. My guess is they care far more to show that they care than to actually do anything to demonstrate that they care. In my opinion this is a bigger customer service failure than the poor service during my visit. This time they want you to believe that they are doing something about the issue. I 100% do not recommend this restaurant or the larger group of businesses under the same management. read more

This place was very mid. The cheese curds were good and had a good chipotle ranch. They were crunchy and tasted like a cheese curd. Maybe not as squeaky. The pretzels were good. Salted very unevenly. The cheese sauce wasn't a sauce. It was coagulated and thick. It tasted ok though. The Mediterranean pizza. Oh man. We had three slices. I ate one and my friend ate two out of the 8 slices or so. No flavor. All we really tasted was the pesto base of the pizza. The other flavors didn't come through at all. Even the feta cheese on the pizza didn't have much flavor. The refill of soda I got was warm. The ice didn't even make it cold. The menu is on a tablet. That is pretty handy. Would I come here again? That's a hard no. I think the food comes from Tito's Italian grill right across the way. read more

The place was not very busy and yet it took 10 minutes to get a menu. Another 25 minutes to get our drinks. 45 minutes to get our dinner which tasted as if it had been sitting on the counter waiting for someone to deliver it. The appetizer of steamed clams came out with our meal and was also cold. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Very over priced for horrible service and cold food. Will not be going back. Great location right at the lake end of Sherman street. We sat close to the opening to the outside seating (rather than out on the sidewalk) to limit road noise and it was perfect because we could hear the restaurant's music playing as well as take in the outdoor experience. Service was very quick and servers were friendly. Menus were iPads which was a nice touch, allowing you to click on each menu item and explore for more details. The bicycle theme was perfect for us as we came in from our of town and had just done a bike ride on the Centennial Trail before dinner. We had calamari as an appetizer, which I thought was great but my wife found a bit bland. Dipping sauces added much flavor. We had the mushroom pizza which was delicious and worth every penny. We also split the pear gorgonzola salad ($19) with grilled salmon on top (additional $16) which was quite pricey but after having this same combination at a fine restaurant in Spokane last night, offered an interesting comparison. T. Unchained offered MUCH bigger portions, Salmon cooked and spiced to perfection, and a delicious vinagrette. I only gave 4 because there is always room for improvement. However, my husband and I came to this place during the bars PAR courses which is fun to see! Their pizza was delicious, we had a lovely waitress, the drinks are tasty! The tables were a little sticky but that's about it! It's a pub though! What can one expect! Poor service is likely due to the fact that there was only one waitress at first. Additional workers arrived but my friends ordered a tuna melt at 12:40 pm and it's now 1:34 and there is no Tuna Melt on the horizon. It was told to us that it would be off the check; however it's now been nearly an hour and "it's being checked on" Is simply not going to cut it. Another 3 folks from our trip arrived after us and we combined tables (but ordered the food before they even arrived) and the 3 some received ate, and paid for their food before the "tuna melt" arrived. The tuna melt was cold, the cheese was not melted, the order asked for tots, not french fries. And it was basically over an hour of wasted time. Also why can I pick a beer from the fridge, but it takes 15 mins to get to my table? Y'all need to review the SOPs cuz something is a miss. One star would not recommend. Came with a party of 4 on a Thursday night. Restaurant was pretty empty - located in downtown cda. Service was pretty slow overall. Our party ordered the pretzel bites, Mac & cheese, and burgers. We also ordered an assortment of cocktails. I was sorta shocked when I received the bill and it was $150. The food was ok - I finished my burger but I was literally starving. Nothing to write home about - the rest of our table only ate half of their entrees and didnt take their leftovers home. It was ok and we had a good time but the price and quality just don't match up. Thought it was a pretty cool spot after a lake day, but guess not! The server did not introduce himself and also it TOOK AN HOUR AND HALF for our food to get on the table which we thought was RIDICULOUS! Especially it was not a full house! I never like to give bad reviews, but sometimes the truth hurts. This place isn't the worst but there is a lot of room for improvement in the food. However, let me say this, it did come out super fast!!! I ordered the tuna melt which I thought would be a nice warm sandwich on a cold October day. The bread was burnt and the tuna and cheese were cold. It was not great and it is simple so it could have been better with just a little more time and attention. The burger was a burger so not much to say about it. When we were there on Sunday afternoon the place was dead, so it should have been better. Waitress was nice and helpful with all the beer on tap. Hopefully they can work on the food so it doesn't seem so store bought and thrown together. read more

Service is nice. Found out the burger patties come frozen. The fries taste gamey because they put the fries by the goat cheese. If you're sensitive to that game flavor (sheep, goat, etc.) you might wonder why the fries taste off. Well that's why. The burger made me sick. Halfway through eating i got a stomachache. Experienced this place because of participating in the Mac N'Cheese Festival at the resort. What a unique little spot. We only tried the Mac'N Cheese (which is on their regular menu as well) and it was great. The dish we had was the buffalo mac n ' cheese which wasn't very spicy and had just enough tang. Stumbled onto Taphouse Unchained while checking out the Coeur d'Alene resort area. The bike themed space is pretty cool and something I hadn't seen before. The restaurant is large with big doors that open onto the sidewalk. Great for people watching. The decent tap list was not printed for the customers. But, there were large TV's with the day's selections and they were on Untapped, so I could checkout the beers from the App. We had a couple of snacks which were pretty good. read more

The food was very good but the service not so much we did not get to see the waiter that often.

Great outdoor seating area where doggies are allowed. The waiter was quick to greet us and get a bowl of water for our worn out doggie. Our drinks came out fairly quickly. My husband had a beer from their pretty decent selection while I had a refreshing gin drink. So they have a full bar, which can often times be hard to get a liquor license for in Idaho. Wonderful atmosphere, as the outdoor seating area is right on the main strip, so you can people watch for quite awhile. When it is warm outside, they have the garage like doors opening into the indoor area, so your gonna get flies. This place is right next to the resort shops, so there is a lot to do in this area. Our burgers only took about 10-15 to get out to us and they were very tasty! The outside has a nice bit of char but without drying out. Very much enjoyed these well seasoned burgers. Fries were crispy and well seasoned as well. Will definitely return to try out some of their other options that looked good. read more

Holy smokes my girl and I were really expecting this place to be really good... not so much, probably worst service I've ever had, they just forgot the appetizer completely then brought it out after the food finally came out 30 minutes later, forgot the side salad as well so they brought out the saddest ceaser salad I've ever seen basically for desert. Never asked us for a second drink. As for the food ribs were ok, chicken in the "Buffalo chicken Mac" was absolutely frozen strips and lacked any different taste and color from the normal Mac and cheese. We came for lunch on a warm Sunday hoping for a cold beer and some yummy bar-style food. I always take into consideration that anyone working in the service industry these days are working HARD and with little support. It's easy to take a check without getting off the couch. The woman who served us was clearly exhausted. She was sweating, running around, and overall just didn't seem happy to be there. She very quickly asked for our food order when we hadn't yet had a chance to look at the menu. When we finally did get a chance to order, we waited quite a while for the food. It arrived and most was correct, except for one meal she failed to put into the system correctly (of course it was the kid's meal). In addition, we had ordered an appetizer that made it's way to us after our meals had already been at the table for quite some time (and was honestly, some of the worst pretzel bites I've ever encountered). I can see how this place would be fun and well run with enough staff, but with little staff, and those that are there exhausted, it wasn't a great experience.
