I always enjoy a meal at Capones when I'm back in the area visiting family. This trip back in September was great food wise, however the service was pretty horrible. It was a nice day, so I opted to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Even though there were plenty of other diners on the patio, my waitress seemed to forget about me. It took about 20 minutes after I was done eating to get my tab and that's after I waived down another waitress. Back to the food. The Caesar is always delicious and good go to. It's a decent portion and comes with delicious bread. I love the crinkle cut fries, so I always order a side to go with my salad. I don't remember my drink, but it was super syrupy and reminded me of cough syrup. This was likely just an off day and I'll give them another shot next time I'm in town. read more

Stopped here for on a road trip with my son. We chose it from a list of DDD restaurants in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho that had some variety and was open for lunch. The building is fairly large inside with plenty of seating near or away from the bar...so we chose near the entrance in a booth. There's a lot of pictures, posters and other items on the walls and it was fun to look at everything. A lot of vintage baseball memorabilia including old gloves. They have menus at the table but we used the QR code for the online menu. The menu is huge and they have a lot of food of the month options on pizza, wings, sandwiches and salads at each of their locations. Our server was very friendly and gave us a quick rundown of the menu and also checked if their pesto had nuts due to a food allergy (it does). We both decided to try the 'World Famous Tommy Pastrami' and we each got different fries (one parmesan garlic and the other seasoned with cajon and ranch). The sandwich was in a lightly toasted French loaf stuffed with pastrami shavings (the meat and very minimal fat), pickles, provolone and brown mustard. The mustard was light and not overpowering which helped give a good pastrami taste. The sandwich was really good. The fries were also pretty good...better than most pub fries. One minor detractor is they serve RC cola drinks (no Coke or Pepsi products). I thought I was back in the 80s...haven't run into that in a long time. We also didn't get any straws for our drinks. Definitely a neat place with a large variety of food. If I'm ever back I'll try their pizzas or wings. read more

Stopped in early to catch the 49ers vs. Saints while in town on a work trip. The staff was excellent--friendly, engaging, and really attentive throughout. The cheese curds and boneless breaded wings were spot on, and the spicy sauce had just the right kick. They draw a great crowd for NFL games. The atmosphere was lively, the space is big, and every team's game is shown on assigned TVs, so no one misses out. It's the perfect spot to watch football. Had an awesome time and would definitely come back. read more

We specifically came here for meatball subs. They ended up having a paired down menu that didn't contain the sub, but had other grinders and meatballs as an app. We asked the waitress if she would ask the cooks if they would be willing to make the sub, but she flat out refused. They will serve the meatballs on a plate, but not a plate that contains a hoagie. We instead ordered a pizza which didn't come with fully cooked crust. Super disappointing because the overall setting of the restaurant was nice. read more

What was even better than the tasty wings and pizza was the service. I'll start with the food. My server was Gaby, who recommended either their wings or their pizza, so I got both. She was right: both were amazing and I loved the multiple dry rub options for the wings. I brought my dog and we sat on the patio, which was full of people. I also rode my electric scooter to Capone's, which while very nerdy, was also expensive. When the host told me to leave it outside, I told her I didn't have a bike lock for it and she shrugged it off as she walked me to my table out of sight of my unlocked ride. She convinced me it would be safe, and to my amazement it was. Coming from Seattle, it would've been stolen in a heartbeat. But not in CdA! What a pleasant surprise. They also have a lot of TVs so I watched the Hot Dog eating championship from July 4th which was quite entertaining! Another pleasant surprise was my server, Gaby. I haven't had a better, more friendly experience in ages. She was knowledgeable about the food and the tap list, was very attentive despite a crowded restaurant, and was fun to talk to. Really dug this place for numerous reasons, namely the food and ambiance (service was pretty good too!). Big Red Sox fan so all the memorabilia was a welcome sight, had no idea they had so much. Seated promptly, ordered drinks (full bar, didn't know that either, loved that), and perused the large and varietal menu. We had burgers, sliders, and wings, really great flavor and hearty portions. Pretty sure this is a staple in CDA and totally understand why. It's predictable in a good way, very welcoming, and unassuming. If I lived there, could definitely see this being a happy hour or weekly dinner place to stop at. Worth a drop in, even if for only a drink. The stuff on the walls is worth a look and the entire staff was friendly and warm, great job Capone's! read more

Wonderful. Just wonderful. And this is from an out-of-towner. This place looks like they have a lot of locals, but that's cool, too, right? It's a pub. It looks and feels like a pub. If you don't want a pub vibe, this is not the place for you! They do have a lot of taps. And that's why I came in. They have a good selection of beers on tap, and they were good and cold. Great service from the waitress while we were there, and she even managed to get the baseball game I wanted to watch on the TV in front of me. Excellent stop, I would absolutely come back again (and will next time I'm in town for sure). read more

While in the area, we stopped in Capones for a beer and a bite. We requested to be seated on the patio to enjoy the beautiful weather. Shortly after, a waitress brought us waters and a beverage menu. There were so many beers on tap to choose from so we eventually made our selections and ordered an appetizer. We chose the loaded waffle fries which were perfect. Then we shared two different entrees, the taco salad and the famous Reuben. Everything was great! Oh and this place was featured on DDD. read more

We visited Capones on July 4th for lunch & were able to grab a table on the patio with our 2 dogs. It was busy! Despite being busy, service was great. This place is so big, lots of seating area, love all the decorations the restaurant has to offer. The food was okay. It's a bit of a fast phase. So the food quality is more of like a fast food but not really. This day was super busy. It took a while for the food to get there but the good thing once we got the food it wasn't cold it was fresh made and hot. The burger was tasty and the meat was cooked nice. So much good stuff. One of the best Italian grinders I have had not on the East Coast. They also have dry rub flavors for the fries, but they also do it for the tots! Cajun Ranch, so good. Great wings with flavors and heat levels for just about any pallette, bone in or boneless. And the boneless wings are not just glorified nuggs. The service was prompt and friendly, and our server was knowledgeable about everything as well. Great beer list, although I laughed when they noted two Canadian beers as "domestic". Sport bar vibe but with a historic flair too. I wish Capone's would put a location in Spokane, but I will definitely be willing to make the drive again. read more

We were visiting from out of town and meeting up with some friends that recently moved to the area. It was suggested here because we really wanted to watch the world series. There was 8 of us total. We got there early and had no problem finding parking. We got a table right away and waited for our friends. Our server was amazing! She got drinking going. She kept checking up on us. Our friends arrived and we kept catching up. Our server came by to take our order twice and we apologized for not being ready with food but got our friends drinks. The second time she came by we ordered 2 baskets of fries. When she delivered the fries we were ready to order. The pizzas we good but not the best I've had. We did get to watch the baseball game while visiting. All in all it was a great place to get together and have some great service and good food. read more

Roasted garlic chicken pizza and a side salad. I wouldn't say I tasted roasted garlic. The crust was crispy and thin. But it wasn't very flavorful. It was ok, but nothing special. The side salad was good. Our server was not very friendly at all. The walls were filled with cool memorabilia. Just meh, overall, though. read more

Huge dive bar with large menus. Cocktails are strong but not well crafted. Food was good, but also it's a dive bar so don't expect anything fancy. Service was a bit slow for it not being busy. read more

We just arrived in CDA and got a couple recommendations to try Capones - 1) for their pizza and 2) because it was showing the game we wanted to watch. We sat outside and ordered the potato skins for an appetizer and the blue ribbon pizza! Both were awesome! There were TVs outside so we were able to enjoy the fresh air and catch the game. read more

All the other neighborhood places closed and it's not even 7 PM. Not this kid he's making delicious American cheeseburgers. Make mine a triple hungry like a wolf. So good to see you doing something other than playing Xbox. And the burger awesome. read more

Absolutely amazing! From out of town, my husband and I stopped by here after reading reviews that were iffy and we couldn't be happier! The arsenal of beer they have on the wall is incredible! The list of cocktails is endless. Signature monthly dishes. The bar staff was kind and attentive. Our drinks were made correct. The FOOD! Phenomenal! 10/10 highly recommend for locals and out-of-towners. The prices are even tremendous. Made out with happy full bellies within an hour of arriving, spending far less than we expected. Definitely coming back next time we are in town! read more

Capones is a place that I haven't been to in quite a few years. Few meaning about 15. Forgot how much I enjoyed this place. Pretty dark but I like a bar setting like that. Our service was great. Lady was very attentive and outgoing. That goes far with my family. Wings were amazing. Crispy and saucy. We did the sweet hot sauce and it was perfect for my liking. Each of us had a sandwich and of course had to get the world famous pastrami. I would definitely eat it again but also want to try the 10 other things on the menu that I couldn't pick between. Waited an hour and half for 1 pizza to go! Don't waste your time. Place is a joke. No service no info just hungry people

First off I have been coming to Capones since 2013. This was the absolute worst food service I have ever received. My hostess was very gracious and she tried to help with the situation. I watched over 15 tables come and go, as I waited on my pizza. The last straw was when I saw pizza being delivered to customers that had arrived 1 hour after me. I won't be going back any time soon. read more

We were not sure what we wanted for dinner so we came to a place that had a variety. We ended up with splitting a large french fry, an order of sliders (4) and a medium pizza. The fries were exceptional and done perfectly. They pared well withe the sauces they brought to the table for the sliders. The sliders were terrific small cheeseburgers and provided us the ability to have burgers and pizza. The pizza was phenomenal and showed off why this is such amazing place. The ranch chicken pizza was loaded and one of the best I have had. Overall an amazing choice for dinner and both the burgers and pizza are winners. read more

Pizza was marginal. I asked if they put a decent amount of olives on their pizza and he said yes. Pizza came out and olives were ok but red onions pretty much non-existent (see photo). We were there on the patio over an hour and 4 tables around us who left right when we sat down, were never cleaned. New customers had to wait a long time to be seated and 1 group even left. The waiter dropped a receipt and saw it then proceeded to walk over it probably 30 times, as well as the host (10+ times) without picking it up. Take pride in your workspace people!! So overall I had not been here in about 10 years. The person I was with said that she thinks Capone's think they are a Cd'A institution and don't think they need to raise the bar. After today' visit I totally agree. The loaded potato salad was tasty though! read more

I've had this pic in my phone for a half a year because it was important I left this review. The mac- SUCKSSS. Legit. Non edible. See that pic below? Ya, that's the third time I've come and my dumb butt ordered it FOR THE THIRD TIME because I kept forgetting how absolutely horrible it is. It's noodles. That's it. There's no cheese flavor or flavor at all. Disgustabug. I've ordered pizza and a burger with those three visits too and they were subpar at best. I have to leave some pros here: Location Waitstaff- friendly and checked on us enough to fill my water Ambiance- It looks like it could be a fun place for some drinks. (21+) I was surprised at how many families were in there on st Patrick's day with the "hole in the wall bar feel" Ok ok I'm done. Now I can finally be free of this mac! read more

Excellent service and food. Beer over the top. I had a Firecracker burger, my wife built her own burger with cheese and jalapeño, both awesome. Cajun fries with a good kick, just like I like them. I've been to the post falls location once and this was my first time at this location and the experience was great. We ordered a medium pizza with pepperoni, feta, and cold pickles.. yes cold pickles, don't knock it til ya try it! We also ordered the idaho nachos and the pastrami sandwhich. Everything was fresh and hot... and delicious! The pizza was soft but crispy if that makes sense, high quality ingredients for sure. The fries could've had more cheese maybe or even a beer cheese sauce would've taken these to the next level but they are a must try and a huge portion for $14. The pastrami had no fat.. at all! I hate pastrami but theirs was not all dried out and full of stringy fat like most places. I want to order this for myself next time and i never thought I'd say that about pastrami! The wait staff was friendly and attentive, plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. I will definitely be back! This was honestly the best pizza I've had since living in Spokane for the last 3 years. The bill came to $76 for the sandwhich, idaho nachos, medium 3 topping pizza, pastrami sandwhich, a hard cider, and a non alcoholic beer. A bit pricey but I won't blame this place since they have quality ingredients and inflation is not their fault obviously. Oh we also liked that they do have a couple of NA beers and a mocktail list for those who want to have a drink but can't have alcohol so bonus points there! read more

In Coeur d'Alene spring 2021, we needed an outdoor place to eat since we had a puppy. Most places either didn't have outdoor seating, or hadn't opened it yet. Neither had Capones, but they said we could sit out there if we wished. When we arrived, it was indeed a bit cold, but we brought light jackets. Once people saw us out there, they obviously got permission to sit out there as well rather than wait for a seat in the restaurant, given social distancing. At least three parties joined us, still social distancing given the large outdoor space. Our puppy didn't social distance, she nosed another dog with another party. We had french dip, thai salad, and two beers. They were really good, but the beer selection stood out. I did go inside and was impressed by the bar area. I asked about the selection, and was generously allowed to taste quite a few beers. I got two growlers to enjoy back at the hotel. We decided to go back two nights later, and sat at the same outdoor table. This time we had "The Q" (pork & pineapple sandwich), philly cheese steak sandwich, and a "Lillian" and vanilla stout beer. I think we started something, because Capones had spruced up the outdoor area, and it was mostly full (again, given every other table, even outdoors). I mentioned the "not really warm yet" bit to the next party, and the reply was "better than waiting in line in the cold to get in". The food was good, the beer was better, and everyone seemed in good spirits. Next time we are in Coeur d'Alene, we will be back. read more

Sat for a hour and half with no food no explanation from server, asked server if I can just pay for drinks and leave she had no care no apology nothing just ok here. As a cda native it's sad to see what used to be a great establishment go to down hill. I've held out long enough supporting local businesses but with this service I'll take my money elsewhere. read more
