Love that it's not too huge and overwhelming. Great selection of pumpkins and activities for kids. Very family friendly.

Lions & Tigers & Bears, oh my!…read more Ok, that's not quite what Critter Squad Wildlife Defenders (CSWD) is all about... BUT...... Wouldn't that make for an interesting kids birthday party! Imagine this... Billy's older brother: "Hey, Mom, Where's little Billy?" Random party goer: "He was last seen petting the Tiger." (Tiger looking extra guilty & licking his lips) Billy's Mom: starts crying hysterically, "Not my Baby boy" Suddenly, Billy comes around the corner licking his own lips while holding a shaved ice from the shaved ice truck at the party and says, "'mommy, why are you crying?" Phew!! (Crisis adverted) Wait... Where's suzie? (Billy's little sister).... (Que to the dramatic piano) Dun, Dun, Dunnnnn Moving on shall we! Thankfully, for your sake and for little Susie's sake.... Critters Squad Wildlife Defenders only has birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, porcupines, snakes and other fun, cute, furry little animals/reptiles that won't harm you.... Just make sure to follow the directions of your assigned wildlife team member. For us, our first and only encounter with CSWD was at a recent birthday party that we attended for one of our daughter's fellow classmates. Like most kids birthday parties, all the usual suspects were on site. A bounce house, a birthday cake, snacks for the kids, a table for all the gifts and of course those wild and crazy kids running around having fun. But this party had some had special guests. Some scaly, some a bit pokey, a few that were soft to the touch and others that had 8 eyes and 8 legs! So as everyone arrived to the party and got acclimated, the host of the party got everyone's attention and had us all set up on the grass for the "special surprise." Kelvin from Critter Squad enters that chat. Yeah, Kelvin was super cool and was very knowledgeable about all of the critters and reptiles he brought out to show. He was great with the kids and parents in attendance and everyone who wanted to participate to touch, hold or get a closer look of the different animals, were all welcomed. At the party we attended, the package included a few different Snakes, a Tarantula, a Porcupine, a bird and a few other critters that were all definitely the stars of the party. Although it was not my party, I witnessed what a great addition this could be for a kids birthday party, especially if they love animals or you want to do something unique. Definitely check out their website for pricing, packages and availability. And don't fret about little Suzie, she was located in the bounce house =)

If it wasn't for my kids who actually enjoyed the petting zoo experience I would give zero stars…read morebased on custom service alone. I want to also mention booking required multiple emails, voicemails etc but eventually we were booked to have a one hour petting zoo for my twins 5th birthday. When booking and speaking to someone on the phone to confirm details I was told I needed a shaded area for the pets bc of the heat which I then mentioned I gave a shaded area in my backyard covered by a gazebo. No other questions were asked regarding if the area has grass or pavement . During the event the animals pooped all over the fenced off area which was on concrete . The person who was in charge did not bring a tarp or offer a tarp and my concrete was covered in animal feces . After it was done I asked if he would clean the area before he leaves and he said usually events are on grass and we don't do that . I see you have a hose over there and I have to go and pack up the animals and leave. I was mortified at this and I emailed to share my experience but unfortunately was met with loads of deflection . " you need to suggest it or let us know since most petting zoos are on grass ." when asked about tarps. I think it should be the responsibility of the vendor to confirm the details . It would have been appropriate to ask me when confirming a shaded area for the pets. Otherwise I would assume that as professionals they come prepared for any setting . A tarp was not brought nor offered . When I mentioned in the email that I had a convo with the staff about clean up I was hit back with " he did not hear you say that " . Very unprofessional.

It's right off of Carson Street across the street from the Town Center more so across from Sam's Club. It is hidden and it's a perfect hidden gem for little ones. It seems that you are able to have picnics and parties here of course with reservations ahead of time. The animals and the petting zoo were so sweet and the staff was very friendly. The highlight of the trip was the pony rides.

I smell like a barnyard? Of course, because I was feeding goats & sheep at Barnyard Buddies…read more For $6 admission (at the time)(Groupon deals, as well), visitors to Barnyard Buddies can feed goats & sheep, and pet various animals. Buying a medium sized container of feed was more than enough, IMHO. Visitors are required to feed only the goats & sheep from the other side of the enclosure. Without feed, visitors can enter the closure & pet/brush the animals. Besides the goats & sheep, there are 2 pigs, chickens, and in a separate enclosure, emus & a cow. No access allowed to those, however. Pony rides are an option for little kids. The ride is around an oval track. There is also a playground area to burn up some energy. A few handwashing stations on premises to stay hygienic during your visit. Barnyard Buddies is an accessible nearby barnyard experience. I was lucky enough to grow up around chickens, so I'm not new to livestock. It's my firm belief kids should be around animals, and know where their food comes from, whether it be eggs, milk and/or meat. While not a place I'd recommend traveling large distances to visit, for those nearby or whom happen to be in the area, Barnyard Buddies is a wonderful opportunity to feed enthusiastically hungry goats & sheep, and brush plump piggies. Highly recommend!
