    Car seat

I had a front seat in a 2012 replaced as it was ripped. I cannot believe how good it looks. Leather matches perfectly. I cannot recommend this business highly enough. Done in one day and came out beautifully. Extremely helpful and nice staff that helped me understand what was possible. Will be back for the second front seat at some point. Thanks again.

my new tonneau cover on the '56 MGA

Had a really good experience last year with their work making new leather seats on my Toyota so brought my 56 MG roadster in requesting they make a new tonneau cover. I like to buy my old car a Christmas present every year. Glenn's folk did an excellent job making and fitting the new cover. Careful work and no creases or wrinkles! And price was extremely reasonable.....surprisingly so. Appreciate having this standard of workmanship available in today's world.

    After in leather

We had my late Dad's 1960s recliner repaired and reupholstered in leather by Ray's (now Tapia's - same crew) upholsterers in Watsonville as a Christmas gift for our son; something of his grandfather's to cherish. It's beautiful. The workmanship is outstanding!

I've came here twice now, both for restoration on old (1960 era) bench seats for my trucks. Excellent craftsmanship & great price.

I had a chair reupholstered at Ray's and it was done quickly, beautifully, and for a fair price.

Ray's reupholstered 4 chairs and 2 ottomans for me. Spectacular job at a reasonable price. I'm using them again in the near future.

Without boring anyone with what happened to the seat, I seriously would not trust anybody but Ray's (especially Glenn).

On the blue section, and there was some over-spray and it has a yellowish green tint. It took him a few quick minutes to mix some dye and he didn't really spot check for match. I asked if he could match it better but he said it could make it worse. There was also over-spray. Frankie just blocks off the untouched spot by holding a piece of cardboard. It wasn't precision and care. Also, deep scratches could be sanded, smoothed and polished to match, but he doesn't go to this level of service. He just applies putty over it and lets you know it will leave a lump. However, the match on black was very good, almost perfect. But it felt rough due to the over-spray. Overall, I had expected a more precise hand polishing process and care for matching, but it was just quick spray paint. Deep scratches really didn't get resolved. The car is now a collectors item. I was hoping for a level of quality that matches the prestige. EDIT In response to the owner; I do not use Yelp much and do not write many reviews. But they are bad experiences that are memorable enough to share and I provided evidence (invoices and pictures) to support it. The owner's lack of accountability in his response should be a concern. I've had someone asking about his work the past few weeks (2025: 9 years later) and it prompted me to help this person and update the review and even tone it down a tad for the owner's benefit. 1 and 2. The pictures uploaded appear the same quality as the original but resized. Don't believe otherwise as the owner leads you to believe. Many of you have uploaded pictures and know this is is a lie. I believe Yelp will also dispute the owner on the quality of their site. 3. As for repairing scratches, I had no issues and mearly shared the level of service ($350 - in 2016 dollars) for the community, but the owner has a problem with me sharing it. 4. The car was just as pristine in 2016 as today 2025, 1,500 miles later. I have the invoices on the work, dated before Frankie's job. In fact, I should probably write a review on it since the owner seems to have a problem with me not writing good reviews, especially if it is redundant to many other good reviews. 5. The owner is lying about the date of the job and timing of my review. The job was done on 2/6/2016. My review was dated 5/7/2016. I moved away from the area June 2016 and was very busy with preparing for the move and finishing up my life there. 6. The owner claimed he could make it right, but as he mentioned during the job, he did not want to fix the mismatch. I had no reason to contact him further. I moved to a different area a few months later and had more important concerns than the owner's job and was fine with just writing a review. The owner needs to own it.
