They have a frequent buyers card and you never have to wait too long for your drink. Their boba teas are consistent with tapioca pearls being the right texture. A small comes to about $3.35 with tax or so. Noticed interesting little signs posted throughout like "Don't play with the skewers!" and "Don't touch this water, it's poisonous!" (it's posted close to their water fountain). Makes me wonder what kind of clientele they must get. Whenever I drop by, it's full of professionals and workers in the area who are getting their boba drink quota for the day. However if I ever have a stressful day in the office, I might drink the water and skewer myself. read more

I'm addicted and there is no other explanation for it. I've drop by at least once a day and that's just show you how crazy I am. 198 calories only for a regular size drink. Its like drinking a can of soda but this definitely taste better. I have a new favorite now for those who read my last review, I love the chocolate milk tea with boba. Now its all about the Lychee Green Tea with Lychee jelly. I think its better than the chocolate for sure :) its not as sweet of course and very refreshing. The 90-100 degree weather in Sacramento is crazy so a large cup of Lychee Green Tea with Lychee Jelly will just do it. People say I'm addicted to Tapx because... I would order a large cup of my favorite drink to go, take it home, freeze it and have it the next day at work. =) It still taste amazing. Tapioca Express has always been my favorite boba place! It doesn't matter if I have to commute to Elk Grove and Natomas from Roseville to get it, it will always be worth it. In my opinion, I think they just have better quality boba. I don't know if it's different, if they cook it a certain way, or what, but it tastes great! It has flavor and it's cooked! Most boba places fail by undercooking their boba, and it tastes like chewing on an eraser. Tapioca Express has never had this problem. Their tea/slush/smoothie flavors are just right , not too sweet and not too bland. If you get a chance to visit one of the locations, makes sure to try their mini boba and their fish balls! I had a taste for some Honeydew milk tea tonight,searched on Yelp, read the reviews, hopped in the car to get my fix! Many had mentioned in their experiences that there was a mean lady at the front. I had no such experience. I did come in knowing no matter who the cashier was, was going to get a big genuine smile to start off with from me. She was nice guys! Thumbs up. It was quite strange that they had NO BOBA/TAPIOCA. I mean come on, your name is TAPIOCA EXPRESS. The equivalent of Burger King having no burgers. #EpicFail The prices were higher than any other place I've been, 3.50 for a regular size honeydew snow,and had they not been out of boba, it would have came to about $4.30. I bought my two kids with me, so I just bought them their own. I'm not paying 12 bucks for some darn ice. With the steady pace of these places closing (Like Lollicup etc), they are taking a risk of losing customers to their higher prices on boba teas. I came here for the first time. It was a hot afternoon, end of May 2020. I had read the low reviews and hoped those were just bad days. But my experience was comparable to the low reviews. I tried calling first to place an order for pick up because I was picking up food nearby but nobody answers. Then it seems to be a fax line. I decided I was already there, so I walked in. There were four teenage staff behind the counter not appearing to be happy to be there at all. The girl at the register sluggishly entered my order. I asked for no ice in both drinks I ordered and they still put ice in (they were definitely all operating on auto-pilot even with the slow business). The jasmine milk tea was really sweet. Too sweet No flavor is jasmine. The taro thai milk tea tasted like... Some other drink and not even sweet. Customer Service: Poor Product quality: Poor Would I return? No Recommend? Been here a few times and it's a hit or miss for me. I love how this place has been opened for so many years, so it goes to show that people love this place. Anyway, Drelin is such a sweet girl, she always smiles, she's friendly and greets people who come in even though she is busy she will still address people who are in line and she knows how to make some awesome Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee. Her customer service skill is up to par!!! The miss part for me is since this place has been around for a while I feel like it could use a little interior update. Also, there is another worker here that is not friendly at all, I believe her name starts with a M (I didn't get her name but she has long hair and may be a team lead or something). I went there on my lunch break to get me an afternoon pick me up Vietnamese coffee. As I walked in, I noticed her behind the counter and only a group of 3 people in line. They already ordered and were waiting, I asked them if they were in line and they said that they were waiting. So I stood in line and the M girl did not acknowledge me at all. Like she was busy, she could have said "hi welcome in, I'll be with you in a moment" or something like that. I waited and waited and she finally took my order. So I sat and waited and another lady walks in and the same thing happened to her. She was not acknowledged at all. That girl needs some training. I was first introduced to Tapioca Express in Davis where I fell in love with caramel snow bubbles and medium hot crispy chicken bowls. I have since been frequenting the Lollicup in the same parking lot but today I went to Taste of Thai next door for lunch and had this insanely intense craving for the crispy chicken bowl. Yes, a pig I am. LOL. So while we waited for our lunch to arrive I slipped next door and ordered crispy chicken. First problem: no rice. They dont sell rice - not sure why except he said it was a problem at that location and they had tried it before. So all I had was crispy chicken. It was $3.49 for just chicken, which I swear used to get me rice! Luckily I had a side of rice waiting for me next door. I got a mango milk tea, which I believe was premade because I saw him pour it out of a pitcher in the fridge. No matter, because it was delish! Once again, it was about $3.49, which is still more than Lollicup and more than I'd prefer to pay for Boba. I give it 3 stars for quick service but of course I was the only guest. Whenever I go to a Kings game with some friends, we stop here to get some parking by getting boba drinks. It is way cheaper than paying for parking at the arena. Today I went after I was checking out a place in the area. I am thankful that it was cool inside because the temperature outside was in triple digits but my order came really slow. How I know if a boba drink is good: I usually order green apple tea and if the bottom of the cup still tastes like something it is good. Wonderful staff. They are extremely patient, helpful, informative and accommodating! I came here with my friends from church after attending the Women of Faith Conference at the Sleep Train Arena (practically next door). My friend wanted Boba and to be honest, all I wanted was a bathroom. I am not a huge Boba person (so, I thought). However, this place was inviting, clean and the people were so nice - so I decided to try it. And I am SOLD on it! - If you know what I mean. I loved it. It was refreshing, tasty and fun to drink. I had the Mocha Latte with the Large Tapioca Pearls. Yum! So if you are in the area I definitively recommend this place! Just tried this place. All we wanted was smoothies, one avocado and and one banana/mango. To start off the establishment is filthy. Lounge chairs just inside the entrance are so grungy Gordan Ramsay would flip his lid. The floor was sticky and the menu boards were covered in a static cling dust and difficult to understand. I'm sure its intended to hip and fun but come on...a smoothie is a smoothie dont give it a weird name like a "snowball". As for the service it was awesome. The young man that helped us was very nice and polite and patient with my questions. My "snowball" was disappointing. Tasted no banana and the mango was watered down and nearly flavorless. I did discover that they don't use any fresh fruit at all...so if artificial flavoring is you thing then this is your place. read more

I've been going to other Tapioca places & the portion of my popcorn chicken was small size :( wasn't as good as the one on bruceville in Elk Grove. The chicken was soft & mushy that I didn't even had a crunchy sensation in my mouth. I was disappointed. The drink I order was a mocha milk tea. Now if your craving a water down chocolate taste, this is the drink for you. I ask for an exchange for the drink but the lady said "we don't not exchange my order." I've come here a few times.I get the taro or Thai tea. I like them strong, I feel they are on the weak side & milky. Today I tried the medium spicy butterfly shrimp & a mocha with added double shot . They were wonderfully spicy leaves a tingle on the lips after. I watched the employee in the back look at my face as I ordered lol. That told me spicy would be spicy which I could tolerate . If it had a 5 scale of spiceness I'd rate it a 4 out of 5 . Excellent . They were tender & lightly fried tempura battered crispy with chili flakes . Perfection. Not impressed by the coffee. The coffee had a nice mild nutty flavor a fair medium blend of coffee & mild chocolate flavor. I might? Feel the caffeine..nah.employees are kind but very low key almost too so. This is the best tapioca express I've ever been to. I'm not sure if it's because of its location, but it's better than most in the bay area. Since its located in natomas it doesn't get too much foot traffic. They also always seemed to be staffed pretty well, 3 people in the front and appears to have a cook in the back. This makes things move efficiently. The drink menu is relatively standard for any tapioca express. But what makes them stand out in my opinion is the chipotle cheese fries. They're great. Overall I enjoy going to this tapioca. But I am used to packed bay area tapioca express where they actually have to give out pagers when your food is ready. It's less crowded and that give them time to make much better drinks. read more
