When entering I saw what appeared to be either two entrances or two exits, and tried my luck on the right side first. Big fan of the Nutty Honey! If you're not a huge fan of super fruity smoothies like me, the Nutty Honey is a great option. Big plus if you're coming down from a sore throat since the honey helps with that. Friendly service and the workers were very helpful identifying which menu options are non-acidic. When I went in the cashier took my order and proceeded to ask me to wait outside for my my order. It was a really hot afternoon and they had the AC on. I have visited Cap City Squeeze three times, and each visit has been a major disappointment. While the location is ideal just a two minute walk from my home the young woman working there has consistently been rude and disengaged. Each time I ask a simple question about the menu, she looks at me in a dismissive way that makes me feel unwelcome. In fact, I have asked her the exact same question twice now on every visit, and she still hasn't provided a clear answer. I even asked if she could call someone who might know, and she just rolled her eyes and said "no." Also on one occasion, she asked me to wait outside for my drinks, despite me having a baby in my arms and it being 90 degrees outside, I asked if I could stay inside while waiting for my drink. She looked at me, rolled her eyes, and said "sure," even though no one was in the shop at the time. Also, each time I've gone it's around 4pm and i notice she always puts the "closed" sign up, even though the shop is still supposed to be open until 5. I find that very fitting for her attitude. Otherwise, the ambiance of the shop is actually very nice, but her unpleasant attitude completely ruins the experience. I strongly suspect she is a relative of the owner, given that all these poor service reviews have been ignored. Unless this changes, I will not be returning, which is unfortunate because I do enjoy a nice walk and a smoothie. read more

Capital squeeze is one of my favorite places to get a morning or afternoon bowl. My favorite is the protein power bowl. Filled with açaí, peanut butter and lots of fresh fruit and granola. A great amount for the price. Although I have to ask for light on the Peanut butter lol. The girls are all usually very sweet and helpful when I come in. I was doing a little fresh green juice fast this week. Yesterday i walked from my office near the Capital and couldn't wait to enjoy my nutrient-rich liquid lunch. I ordered the Green Machine and stepped outside to wait. After 10 minutes, I went back in and watched the young woman prepare my drink. She piled celery, cucumber, 1/2 an apple into the press and it filled the large cup. She then dumped the juice in the sink. I literally gasped and asked why she dumped it and she said, "because it's not green and your drink is called a green machine." I have always ordered the Strawberry Thunder smoothie because it's the only smoothie that has strawberry in it. The Strawberry Thunder is a blend of strawberries, pineapple, bananas, mint, and orange. The last time I had it, several days ago, it wasn't too sweet, but still a good, refreshing smoothie. I also tried the Nutty Honey smoothie, which is a blend of peanut butter, bananas, cocoa, honey, and almond milk. It is pretty thick in consistency and reminds me of Reese's peanut butter cups w/ banana. You can definitely taste the peanut butter and banana. The honey is drizzled on the side of the cup so if you are drinking with a straw, you don't taste much honey, but if you are eating with a spoon and scoop on the side of the cup, you will taste the honey...and it does add a nice taste. On previous trips, I have tried the Green Destroyer smoothie and acai bowl, which were both pretty good. The Green Destroyer has kale, bananas, spinach, pineapple, and OJ. It's a good way to get some greens! The acai bowl was very enjoyable as well. Service has always been pretty friendly. After ordering, customers are told to wait outside. The shop is so small and there is no seating inside anyway, but there is AC. There is outdoor seating with a few tables and chairs on the sidewalk. Prices for smoothies are $7 for small, $7.50 for medium, and $8 for a large. Acai bowls range from $9 (small) to $12 (large).
