Stopped in at Cap City Squeeze for the first time, mid afternoon during the week. It was. Ice and quiet during my visit, since most people were at work. The outside building design/mural is really eye-catching and stand out amongst the neighborhood businesses. The inside mural of the Downtown bridge is a nice touch to the inside environment as well. When entering I saw what appeared to be either two entrances or two exits, and tried my luck on the right side first. That area happened to be for the superfood bowls and things like that are prepared, while the left side of Cap City Squeeze is for the smoothies only. The lady making the smoothies for really helpful with my questions, as far as what was most popular which helped me decide to get the Strawberry Thunder smoothie. I came here on a very hot weekend and after workout in Midtown. Had to find street parking near the store front. The store inside was cute and simple. When I went in the cashier took my order and proceeded to ask me to wait outside for my my order. It was a really hot afternoon and they had the AC on. I have visited Cap City Squeeze three times, and each visit has been a major disappointment. While the location is ideal just a two minute walk from my home the young woman working there has consistently been rude and disengaged. Each time I ask a simple question about the menu, she looks at me in a dismissive way that makes me feel unwelcome. In fact, I have asked her the exact same question twice now on every visit, and she still hasn't provided a clear answer. I even asked if she could call someone who might know, and she just rolled her eyes and said "no." Also on one occasion, she asked me to wait outside for my drinks, despite me having a baby in my arms and it being 90 degrees outside, I asked if I could stay inside while waiting for my drink. She looked at me, rolled her eyes, and said "sure," even though no one was in the shop at the time. Also, each time I've gone it's around 4pm and i notice she always puts the "closed" sign up, even though the shop is still supposed to be open until 5. I find that very fitting for her attitude. Otherwise, the ambiance of the shop is actually very nice, but her unpleasant attitude completely ruins the experience. I strongly suspect she is a relative of the owner, given that all these poor service reviews have been ignored. I was really excited to try Cap City Squeeze a local business in Sacramento but unfortunately my experience was pretty disappointing. The customer service was lacking, felt flat and almost disinterested. I saw a couple being told to leave the restaurant and stand outside, which was awkward as we were the only people there. When I asked for recommendations and had questions about drinks and textures, I didn't get any guidance, and just went with what I thought was popular. I have always ordered the Strawberry Thunder smoothie because it's the only smoothie that has strawberry in it. The Strawberry Thunder is a blend of strawberries, pineapple, bananas, mint, and orange. The last time I had it, several days ago, it wasn't too sweet, but still a good, refreshing smoothie. I also tried the Nutty Honey smoothie, which is a blend of peanut butter, bananas, cocoa, honey, and almond milk. It is pretty thick in consistency and reminds me of Reese's peanut butter cups w/ banana. You can definitely taste the peanut butter and banana. The honey is drizzled on the side of the cup so if you are drinking with a straw, you don't taste much honey, but if you are eating with a spoon and scoop on the side of the cup, you will taste the honey...and it does add a nice taste. On previous trips, I have tried the Green Destroyer smoothie and acai bowl, which were both pretty good. The Green Destroyer has kale, bananas, spinach, pineapple, and OJ. It's a good way to get some greens! The acai bowl was very enjoyable as well. Service has always been pretty friendly. After ordering, customers are told to wait outside. The shop is so small and there is no seating inside anyway, but there is AC. There is outdoor seating with a few tables and chairs on the sidewalk. Prices for smoothies are $7 for small, $7.50 for medium, and $8 for a large. Acai bowls range from $9 (small) to $12 (large).
