    Got the berry acai bowl
    Tiff W.

I came here on a very hot weekend and after workout in Midtown. Had to find street parking near the store front. The store inside was cute and simple. When I went in the cashier took my order and proceeded to ask me to wait outside for my my order. It was a really hot afternoon and they had the AC on. It wasn't a very busy flow but it would have been nice to be allowed to wait inside. Im not too sure if it's a health code reason to have guests wait outside. I got the berry acai bowl which was good. I went home to eat it. Everything tasted fresh and good.

So yummy! The nutty honey smoothie hit the spot. A great place to stop by for a quality smoothie.

Service/Ambiance- A - since this was a door dash order I love the extra care that they made to make sure my food got to me and looked picture ready. The extra cute thank you stickers touches were a bonus! Food- I got the Matcha Almond Latte and the Berry Good Oatmeal. The latte was good but I like more matcha taste. The oatmeal looked amazing, with fresh fruit but the oats were dry and not as soft as I had expected. Overall, I'd like to try this place at the restaurant to see if there is a difference.

stopped on the way to the airport for a quick and light breakfast after seeing the generally positive reviews and I wasn't disappointed. this was my first time trying a pitaya bowl and i really enjoyed it! it's pretty similar to acai but tastes more like dragonfruit (obviously), and is maybe just a tiny bit less sweet (which i liked). quality of ingredients is fresh. cap city is a slightly run-down hole in the wall establishment. you can't sit and eat here; you order to go and the general atmosphere isn't necessarily visually pleasing but it's not like, super dirty or anything either. the person who took our order and made our food had a slightly indifferent vibe to her and she was on her phone for a while before actually making our orders after telling us to wait outside (which could be due to any number of reasons but just thought i'd note it as we were in a little bit of a time constraint to make it to the airport). overall, good spot for acai/pitaya bowls/smoothies if you're craving one!

Capital squeeze is one of my favorite places to get a morning or afternoon bowl. My favorite is the protein power bowl. Filled with açaí, peanut butter and lots of fresh fruit and granola. A great amount for the price. Although I have to ask for light on the Peanut butter lol. The girls are all usually very sweet and helpful when I come in. Many great healthy options from bowls, smoothies and juices. I also grabbed an energy bite which was a good granola, peanut butter chocolate ball. Good for someone that wants a little healthy sweet snack.

I've always had a good experience at Cap City Squeeze. It's my favorite place for acai bowls! I like them better than nugget. My go to smoothie is the beach bod. My partner really likes the volcano!

My favorite place to get a smoothie bowl! Best prices and value by far. Also tastes great! $9 for a small 12 oz, $10 for a medium 16 oz and $12 for a large. You can pick from a preset option or create your own with unlimited toppings. You honestly can't beat that. I used to come by while working downtown. I haven't been able to go since WFH as it's inconvenient, so that's disappointing. But, I'm so glad that they've managed to stay open through the pandemic and most people WFH and stuff. It's tiny, so you're best waiting outside after ordering. Parking isn't too bad..there are metered and free 2 hour parking options.

Other than trying to make my own acai bowls at home this is the only place I've tried them and it's never the same as when I try to make it... Cap City uses fresh and good quality ingredients, it almost feels like they hit up the farmers market daily and bring it to the table. Their blueberries are always so big and crunchy but yet sweet, that honey is like candy, I like that the acai has a good hint of sweet but not overpowering like a glazed donut, and the list can go on about everything they've got. I go after peak hours so I don't wait line for my order. There is also an online ordering option as well. The shop is tidy and only has room for staff to make your goods and some room for customers to order. There is a few tables outside for seating but that's about it. There is street parking out front but limited so you might have to search around depending when you go.

Strawberry Thunder & Nutty Honey Smoothies ~ $8 each (large)

Cap City Squeeze Juice Bar is a tiny store that sells juice, smoothies, and acai bowls near the State Capitol. I've been here a few times over many years and have had positive experiences. I have always ordered the Strawberry Thunder smoothie because it's the only smoothie that has strawberry in it. The Strawberry Thunder is a blend of strawberries, pineapple, bananas, mint, and orange. The last time I had it, several days ago, it wasn't too sweet, but still a good, refreshing smoothie. I also tried the Nutty Honey smoothie, which is a blend of peanut butter, bananas, cocoa, honey, and almond milk. It is pretty thick in consistency and reminds me of Reese's peanut butter cups w/ banana. You can definitely taste the peanut butter and banana. The honey is drizzled on the side of the cup so if you are drinking with a straw, you don't taste much honey, but if you are eating with a spoon and scoop on the side of the cup, you will taste the honey...and it does add a nice taste. On previous trips, I have tried the Green Destroyer smoothie and acai bowl, which were both pretty good. The Green Destroyer has kale, bananas, spinach, pineapple, and OJ. It's a good way to get some greens! The acai bowl was very enjoyable as well. Service has always been pretty friendly. After ordering, customers are told to wait outside. The shop is so small and there is no seating inside anyway, but there is AC. There is outdoor seating with a few tables and chairs on the sidewalk. Prices for smoothies are $7 for small, $7.50 for medium, and $8 for a large. Acai bowls range from $9 (small) to $12 (large). They also sell oatmeal, Greek yogurt, immunity shots, energy bites, and more. Cap City Squeeze has been a great local shop downtown for smoothie, juices, and bowls. Check out their menu for more options and check store hours prior to going as they don't stay open late.

Those of you that know me already know that I am a big time meat eater. But I am always open to soy protein and impossible meat options. This takes me to the Arden neighborhood of Sacramento where I had the opportunity to try out "RAW Superfood Cafe". Located in the Howe Bout Arden shopping center, this place has been opened since early-2024 while replacing the once popular "CREAM" which was a surprise since they did not last long in this busy outdoor strip mall. Prior to coming here, I've already heard of RAW Superfood Cafe as they have 3 locations in the Bay Area; San Jose, Milpitas, and San Jose; and 2 locations in the Sacramento area; Elk Grove and this one that I am reviewing. I ended up coming here during the afternoon on Friday 6/5/2026 at around 5:15pm. The inside area is very bright, cheerful, and lively with a few tables with leather booth-seating, bamboo wood paneling, and fake grass with the business name aligned to it. Additionally, there is a large digital kiosk where you can place your order and pay using a card or smartphone. The specialty here are their blended and layered bowls which offer a huge assortment of customizable creations. This is where you can choose a base (for example, açaí, mango, dragonfruit, etc.) while picking various toppings (nuts, fruits, coconut chips, etc.) and finishing it off with a drizzle of vanilla, chocolate, or anything you might be craving. However, they also offer a vast amount of smoothies, protein shakes, wellness drinks, blended and iced coffee beverages, and even a respectable amount of food. When I say food, this just isn't a couple items; this is more a few dozen food items to choose from. Everything from various sandwiches, burgers, breakfast toasts, bagels, salads, and soups. Since I was craving an actual meal/drink, I went with their "Bánh Mì Sandwich" (priced at $13.95). This sandwich consisted of house Asian sauce, caramelized onions, pickled daikon, carrots, cilantro, mayo, jalapeño, and cucumber. I paired this a refreshingly cold-pressed Calamansi juice (priced at $5.50). I ordered this exclusively on the kiosk and paid for it digitally via-Apple Pay. Within 5-7 minutes, my drink and food was ready for pickup. I am quite picky about my Bánh Mì Sandwiches but for them to substitute this with vegan meat was an absolute win-win for me. The 'meat' was well-seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor while the bread was soft and made to perfection. Even my drink hit the spot on a seasonably warm 94°F day. I thoroughly enjoyed this while dining inside a very clean, sterile, and bright interior while the employees were absolutely friendly and accommodating. With that said and done, I am giving the Arden "RAW Superfood Cafe" a perfect and unanimous five-star rating.
