This is a cool hangout spot with indoor and outdoor dining, I liked the outdoor setting with fairy lights and picnic benches. When you are in groups you can order rounds of beers and wouldn't know how quickly 3-4 hours went by. Holy guacamole! My date and I came here specifically to try the charcuterie board because it looked like one of the best boards in Santa Clara County. The board alone made this a five-star experience, so the great beer selection, chill ambiance, and awesome customer service were all bonus points. The board was great because it has a good variety of meats, as well as bread, mustard, pickles, and marinated olives. Every element of the board paired well together, and with the beers that we ordered (the names of which I can't remember). They had about 24 beers on tap, with so much variety that it was difficult to choose! There were so many that I wanted to try, I can't remember which ones we actually ordered. There are additional foods and snacks you can order, but we only tried the charcuterie board. The people who came on the night we stopped in all seemed to know each other, despite coming in separate groups, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. There are sofas you can sit on and board games to play, if you so choose. Seems like a local watering hole. If I still lived in this area, I would definitely be a regular of Taplands. My husband and a co-worker of his were in need of some filipino food so we were over at Toppings for dinner. We couldn't help deciding that we would need to grab a drink afterwards at Taplands because of the vibe coming from the place. Their out door patio was on and poppin! So we had dinner and walked over to Taplands. It's a quaint little place that is conveniently within walking distance of Santa Clara University (so is there every a slow time at this place)? Lots of parking all around this place. Easy to get too. Located in a small strip mall. They have some tables inside, bar seating and a patio area that was nice. I guess the place is dog friendly as a few of the patrons were sitting outside sipping on their drinks with their fur babies at their feet. It was cute because I love doggies. We walked in and the line was to the door but the line went pretty fast. They have an electronic menu of everything they serve with awesome and helpful description of the flavor of each drink. Being a girly girl decided on a fruity beer that I think they call Stem Pear. I might be wrong so don't quote me on it just know that it was delicious and I am not a beer drinker. It was not an overbearing pear flavor just a hint of it that kind of lightly lingers on your taste buds after you've drank it. Delicate and crisp and delicious...like biting into an actual pear that has been soaked in alcohol..hahahahaha! Bartenders were friendly and they were clearing glasses off tables pretty quickly which was nice. They have several big screen tv's and had the Warriors game on. We visited Taplands on a Sunday night to enjoy some brews with friends and watch a little football. Overall, it was not very busy, but the parking lot (behind the shopping center) had plenty of space if needed. The bartenders were very friendly and it was easy to open a tab - you even get to keep your card! (Just remember to close at the end of the night) Drinks were delicious and there was a lot of selection, including a few cans in addition to the 24 on tap. Their selection was widespread, mostly from different parts of CA, even some smaller breweries I have been to before. They also have have a beer they make themselves, which is why I have to give this 2 out of 3. Unfortunately, for me when comes to breweries and wineries I give an automatic -1 star when you offer your own stuff but have to use others as a crutch. Its a rule I've made and I have to follow it. Finally checked out Taplands and really enjoyed our beers. The bartender was really nice and allowed us to try a few. We ended up ordering most of their IPAs and liked them all. I was trying to look up the names but the menu is not available online. They were out of the deviled eggs so ordered the olives (just okay) and the pita bread with the dips. The green dip was really good and it comes with a lot of pita. I would have given the place 5 stars but the woman "working" completely ignored us and the other non-regulars. Okay, so this was my first time at Taplands Brewery. I was excited to try their IPA. I'm not a beer drinker but if I do drink beer I'd like a double IPA please!!! :) I'm more of a  liquor drinker over ice. Anyways, I walked in and told the bartender it was my first time here and how do I proceed with my order. He mentioned you order at the bar and take your drinks to the table. In other words It's pretty much self-served. Now his attitude sucked. I was asking questions about the beer and I asked him specifically what the stout beer taste like because that was a 12.8 % which is right up my alley in beers lol.. He didn't really answer me, he had that look like I was annoying him asking questions, so my fiance answered for him and said it tastes like a Guinness but more on the darker side. I asked if they have samples for me to try and surprisingly they did. I mean come on buddy you could have offered it to me all along. I tried it and I didn't  like it, so I decided to order  double IPA which was really good and cold. But because his attitude was a huge Debbie Downer and it rubbed me the wrong way, I decided to leave after finishing my first beer. My fiance ordered a soda because he doesn't drink anymore. The place looks like someone's backyard to be honest with you with a weird vibe. That's the best way to describe it, and your view is the streets and residence with off putting patrons. HELL NOOO!!! This place is nice. It has a very nice atmosphere, tvs, a nice bar, tables and an outdoor area that's also cool. The bad side about this place is the people that work there. They have tall chairs with tables, regular seating, and a longer bar area. Your choice depending on how you feel. I like the longer bar table. The tap is cool-- they have craft beer ranging from your lights to your super hoppy. The bar tender behind the counter was knowledgeable about the beers on tap. Also their sandwiches are good. I had one of their hot pressed sandwich, I believe it was pastrami, and boy was it good. The aioli paired well with the meat and pressed bread. Definitely would get it again. Expect to pay around $7-10. I am a picky drinker. I love fruity drinks and hard ciders. If you like beer with hints of....beer, they got you covered too. I got a Mission Trail Peach Coast. The peach taste hit you a few seconds later, and it was not as sweet as I usually go for. I wish they had a more expansive food menu. With fries!! I need fries. I almost don't want to share my favorite spot. This is a fun neighborhood bar owned by a brewer and self proclaimed "Beer Nerd" who's real name is Matt. There are 24 taps of rotating beers ranging from sours, lagers, West Coast IPAs, hazy IPAs, porters, and stouts all kept at about 34 degrees. Don't rely on Untapped for the beer list as it is not updated as quickly as they run through kegs of beer. You will not find Bud, Coors, or Modello. You will find great craft beers like Pliney the Elder or an Eclipse Stout on tap, or in the case. When a keg is emptied, you will get a different beer of similar style on that tap. There is an in house kitchen that serves some great bar selections. My faves are the deviled eggs, pita points, a charcuterie board, or the panini sandwiches. Always delicious food. They will sometimes have a food truck parked out front or a pop-up food vendor in the patio. Outside is a canvas covered area with picnic tables, and some high top tables with bar chairs. Reminds me of a Biergarten. It is not considerd rude to ask to share a table with other people. They have trivia on Monday nights and between rounds the bar service area will get busy as players come in for refills. There are also board games available to play. Patio has both infared and portable gas heaters. 4 TVs are inside and 1 additional one facing outside. On big sports events another portable large screen comes outside. Local games or big events get audio, otherwise there is background music playing over the house speaker system. Parking is easy. My partner and I visited here on a Sunday afternoon. We were very impressed when we went there. The servers were very knowledgeable and polite. The Panini's were warm, fresh, and clearly made in-house. I felt that they had the right amount of meat, cheese and pesto. The bread was baked crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were a great value and very filling. We will definitely be back again. My partner doesn't like beer very much but she loves cider. They have at least one Cider on tap and it was very good. There was a total party of 6 throughout the night and only three of them got asked for their ID. I did NOT, I repeat, I did NOT get ID'ed by anyone - which I am totally fine with. But if you're under this false averment of "we ID EVERYONE" in order to protect your business, livelihood and license - let's come out right and agree that you do NOT in fact ID everyone. Your employees choose and pick who to ID - at doing so you're literally profiling your customers (whether it's based on looks, characater, demeanor, etc; who truly knows). Once you guys caught on that we were aware of this fact, you indeed started IDing everyone THEREAFTER. Our friend that joined us late in the evening, ironically forgot his wallet too - (as to why this happened more than once on the same night is explained further below). We did NOT do this intentionally but we did use the opportunity to test out "your policy". Second - by you bringing up the cameras I hope you had a chance to review the footage before replying. Everything my friend and I have mentioned is not a lie. Your manager had zero sense of courtesy that night. My friend clearly states that we've gone multiple times and this last time was terrible - the main purpose was to enlighten the customers, the public and establishment of the unfortunate events - a call to action sort to speak. Third - how entitled and condescending can an owner be? Asking "What adult leaves their home without identification?" is one of the most closed minded questions by a so called "adult" and business owner. You don't know what our day consisted of, you don't know where we came from, our whereabouts professionally and personally. All I'll say in response to your futile question is - "if only you knew." I am not one to go and try to "flex" our professions in order to get some sort of incentive or "gratitude", special favor or an apology. Lastly, our intention is not to get anyone fired, livelihoods hindered, or licenses revoked. Stop preaching the law in order to prove your point or when convenient. Because from what we've witness in our last visits, we can confidently say you're establishment is managed by hypocrisy. This review won't do much to your reputation and won't cause us to lose any sleep at night. Gotta give Taplands an update! By adding another star :) Been here a couple more times to get a better feel of this spot. Their service has most definitely improved with having more knowledgeable taptenders and staff! What I love is still their selections of beer! From kolsch's to stouts, you'll definitely find some beer on tap (or in their magical refrigerator) for everyone. They're still working on their own brewing part. I came by a few weeks ago and was looking to get a growler for a friend. Unfortunately, they only sell growler's that are of their own brew. Makes sense. Except, they didn't have any that they could tap at that time. Everything else is still smooth and wonderful, from their wifi to diversity of seating choices, so I'm just waiting to get my hands on some of that Taplands beer!! read more

Came here for a friends birthday on a Friday night. I really loved the vibe here. You can just chill, hang out, and they have board game you can play as well. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside. The outside patio has heat lamps to keep you warm. I ordered the following: Apple cider: I prefer drinking ciders more than beers so I was happy to know they have cider. The Apple cider was delicious! Spicy deviled eggs: These were definitely spicy because they were topped with a jalapeño. However, these were so good. Pita points: I loved the concept of having the pita chips and 3 different dips. It is about time a non-sketchy bar pops up in this neighborhood! Not only do they have beers on tap and sell speciality beers but they also have food! Good food! Healthy ish food! Paninis, salads & cheese plates! I hope they offer burgers and soups later. No happy hour yet but they will eventually. Reminds me of the breweries in the East Bay and West Sac so much needed here in the South Bay. I can totally see this becoming that neighborhood spot from tv shows like Cheers (for you old timers) or How I Met Your Mother (for you netflixers).
