It is about time a non-sketchy bar pops up in this neighborhood! Not only do they have beers on tap and sell speciality beers but they also have food! Good food! Healthy ish food! Paninis, salads & cheese plates! I hope they offer burgers and soups later. No happy hour yet but they will eventually. Reminds me of the breweries in the East Bay and West Sac so much needed here in the South Bay. I can totally see this becoming that neighborhood spot from tv shows like Cheers (for you old timers) or How I Met Your Mother (for you netflixers). As for recommendations, I had the Die Hard Cider (AAAAmazing) and my partner had the Ovila Abbey Ale (Sierra Nevada). Totally worth checking it out but not if you are the Bud Light kinda folk. Fun little beer garden with a wonderful selection. You can check out their (wide selection of) offerings through Untapped. Street parking is limited but there's plenty of lot parking and ample outdoor space. We got 3 kind of beers here and all of them were good: kolsch, half moon bay vanilla (very smooth taste) and a pale ale. The beer is good and the bartenders are really lovely. The prices are reasonable and good variety of beers. Not so noisy for a bar. Enough places to sit inside ad outside; mostly outside. The only downside was the food menu :( I think it is designed for wine drinker. I am very disappointed, I couldn't get some fries along my beer. However, the combo plate was delicious. This is a nice little bar tucked away in a shopping square. You might miss it if you drive past too quickly - just look for the large "Toppings Restaurant" sign and Taplands is next door. They've got some tables, a couch and bar seating but it wouldn't be the best spot for a large group (no more than 5-6 people). They had a good variety of beers on tap and ciders so you're sure to find something you like. My friend and I also got a cheese plate to try. We asked for no Bleu cheese on our plate and they were nice enough to give us extra of the other cheeses. The plate comes with goat cheese mousse, so delish! Definitely worth trying and a steal at just $8 for the plate. Loved the fig jam that came with it too. They've got TVs up at the bar as well so you can catch a game. After working a tiring event, my friend and I spent the last of our energy driving to Taplands for a beer. We found parking easily and made our way inside. It seemed like there was only one bartender working for such a crowded place. We waited in line for about 15-20 minutes, which was annoying just for a beer, but I'm glad we could spend time together. We sat on the outdoor patio by a broken heat lamp because all the other seats inside and outside were taken. I don't feel particularly compelled to come back here again, but I'm always down to check out new places. I wish I had this place near where I live. I love little local bars like this. Its definitely not a dive, but its not a fancy joint whatsoever either. They will let you bring in outside grub as they just serve beer and wine (I think). All my friends and I had when we were here was beer. It's a really nice beer bar to say the least. They have a number of taps with a myriad of types and styles of beer. The bartender/proprietor was a really nice guy and knew most of the folks by name. This made me realize what a friendly guy he was and where the success of his business was stemming from. Most of the patrons were regulars as well. I mean who wouldnt want to go to a place where everyone knows your name? The outside seating area was really nice to chill in for a while. Someone had their dog out there as well. It was a pet friendly area and the bartender even came over and petted the dog a bit. Like most successful beer bars of late, they will toss you a lil sample or taster to verify what beer you want before you make your decision on a pint. The crowd is very friendly and everyone is chatting with everyone else. The interior kinda reminded me of a coffee shop. A few sofas and deep chairs with a few high stools and tables with chairs. Vibes. Nice laid back atmosphere with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. 20+ craft brews on tap with 3 TVs. Good variety with light abv beers mixed in with IPAs, Double IPAs and boozy stouts. The house brews were small percent of the total drafts (only 2 taps). There is a fridge with some speciality bottles on sale as well. Don't sleep on these - there are some super rare, highly rated ones (i.e. BBA Dark Star by Fremont Brewing). I'll b back here shortly for more brewskis. read more

After really good experience two years ago, my partner and I made it a point to stop here on our way home from a trip. That wasn't the case this time, we came at 11pm when they're advertised closing time was 12am. We were greeted with "we're tying to close early but you can have one beer". I work in the beer industry, I get it, but there was a good amount of people in there, and you could have at least said hi. Ordered 2 pints and a four pack, tipped generously since it seemed like we were holding them up. Not 10 mins after we were served they started putting up chairs around us and kicked out a large table- while talking to two regulars/friends about what bar they're going to meet up at. Why not just say that you already did last pour rather than making paying customers feel uncomfortable and have to chug their beers? read more

Taplands completely disappointed me. My friend and I went there week before last Friday 7/10/20 and we got 4 beers, pita with triple dip, pesto Italian and a traditional sandwich. That time we spent $73.16. Their food was ok. Beers were on the expensive side for how much you get. A few days later, I was walking with my dog in their neighborhood. I was thinking before I go home, I want to stop by Taplands to buy a beer because I also needed to use the restroom. I asked a Taplands employee if I can use their bathroom before buying a beer. The employee said we only allow a customer to use it. I said I am a customer because I will get some beer to go. He said you need to go to the other side of the door. I asked him before I went to the other door, can I use the bathroom? He said to me I don't know! You need to go to the other to-go door then you can ask another employee! I went to the to-go door and the lady there came over and I asked her can I use the bathroom before buying a beer? She said the menu is here. I said I want to get the CAN beer to-go then I asked her again to use the bathroom. Then she didn't answer my question even though she could hear I wanted to use the bathroom; she looked at other staff I guess because she didn't know what to do. I felt miserable and uncomfortable, and unpleasant. She said you need to look at the menu and the QR code. So, I thought they meant I have to order then they would allow me to use the bathroom. I checked the menu and the only cans were for $16 because they are 32oz. I said to her I want to buy one can. Is that ok? She said you have to buy 4 cans. I told her I don't need to buy 4 can ( I had just gotten some beer shipped to me). I don't need 4 32oz cans and spend $64. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy a beer and they didn't allow me to use the bathroom. I am not a fan of this place. Pretty expensive beer and the staff was not very friendly or helpful unless you are a regular I guess. I don't plan to come back!!! No way!! read more

Good beer, good service, and surprisingly good food! To be honest I was afraid the sandwiches would be mediocre, but no, I had the traditional and it was cheesy, crispy and flavorful. We had the reserve ipa and that was delicious! Also staff was attentive, cautious, and nice. Parking was also easy even on a weekend. Although they don't have much of a food menu, their charcuterie and quesadilla is delectable. This place has a very tame atmosphere. Parking was quick and convenient, the bar wasn't too full, and the noise level was pretty low. I'd recommend it if you're going to have a beer or two with some friends, but nothing crazy since it's in a quiet neighborhood. What really won me over was the price, because I was able to get two food plates + two drinks for way less than other tapas/beer bars. A+++ read more

I came here to watch the Super Bowl and I loved how not crowded this place was. Don't get me wrong though, it was really busy. ALL the tables were full. The bartenders and regulars here are so friendly! There was literally someone handing out Girl Scout cookies for free. I wanted to try the quesadilla, but they had a BBQ menu that day. Ended up getting a burger and pulled pork nachos. The burger was pretty good, just wish there was cheese or some kind of sauce on it. I ended up digging into my hot sauce stash for it :) My favorite thing had to be the nachos! The plate was kind of small but the pulled pork was delicious! So SO moist! They also had a variety of beers to try. Mango habanero cider was definitely my go to! I don't know if they do this often, but they had $3 beer can roulette. So worth it! A good place to hang out, drink craftbeers, and watch sports. They usually have 25 craftbeers on tap, ranging blonde ale to stouts to sours/cider. You can also ask for a small tasting before making a commitment. The staffs are nice and happy (it's probably hard to be grumpy while working with tasty beers). Came here after work with a coworker and the vibes were really nice! Located on the corner of a shopping plaza, this brewery is a little dark at times so it may be a little hard to see. The brewery has a ton of TVs around and one even projecting on its window which I thought was pretty cool, so if you are looking for a place grab some drinks and watch sports this is a cool spot. They are super heavy on IPAs (not a huge fan) but lots of options for your everyday beer drinker. I got the classic cider as it's a favorite of mine and can never go wrong! Overall this spot is a nice little brewery to go with friends but music is eh, not my first choice. read more

If you enjoy craft beer, this is the spot for you!! They have a large selection of rotating taps of craft beer. Their bartenders are always knowledgeable of their wide selection, so let them know your preferences and ask for a recommendation if you're feeling indecisive. I am a sucker for clever design, and once I saw the hops-shaped hanging lights, I knew this place was gonna be legit. Ordering is easy, their rotating taps are listed on a printed menu or on their mounted screens. Pricing is fairly typical - prices ranging due to ABV or size of the pour. I would say the ambiance is in between a brewery and a bar. They have a small couch area and a decent amount of seating indoors and outdoors. Service is a little inconsistent. The bartenders are usually super helpful and friendly, but I might've just caught one on a busy night/grumpy moment. Oh well.. as long as they got my beers right, didn't bother me too much. Wow. What a breath of fresh air after a bad experience at another craft beer place I went to the other day. After what happened last time, I realize I need to start learning more about beer. I was fortunate to sit next to a guy who's a regular here and also sell beer, helped explained more about beer and all the questions I had regarding it. I found out that I do love a lot of beer, especially IPA. When I thought about beer I don't like, I think of Guinness. That is a very acquired taste. It was great to learn a lot more about different types of beer. I ordered the combination cheese and charcuterie plate. It was Brie, fresh mozzarella, Soppressata, and olli calabrese I think. I told them my love for prosciutto and since it wasn't on the chef selection, it wasn't on my plate. To my surprise, they brought out a small plate of it for me. Wow! +2 stars. Service was excellent and the female who worked there really know her beer. She's works in sales for Mission Trail which I end up having to try one of their beer. I had the something galaxy, duck duck juice, and mission trail die hard. All were tasty. Love the ambiance and vibe there. Most are layback and just wanting to enjoy some great beer. I was checking out the new scene since my move. Maybe it was because it was over 100 degrees, or maybe they could tell I wasn't a local. Either way, this place is small and cliquey. It was obvious that the locals get better service. And I don't disagree! They most likely have earned their status. I loooooooooove me some Taplands. I love me some bartenders that already know what I want/like to drink when they see me walk in the door. I love me some purse hooks underneath the bar. I love me some Pita Points with the dip. I love me some clean bathrooms and tables. Indoor and outdoor seating is plentiful and if you dont want to sit, there is plenty room to stand. Dog friendly on the patio, kid friendly too, but I probably would steer clear of toting your tot on a Friday or Saturday, if at all. The beeeeer - Always different, always the best and always fresh. You can get full pints of most beer, and half pours if you ask and always competitive pricing. The food - The menu is more along the lines of appetizers and warm sandwiches, which are always tasty. They also have chips for purchase to snack on, and soda and water available too. If nothing as far as food here strikes your fancy, you are allowed to bring in your own food. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. They also have a cold case FULL of bottles and cans to go. Make sure you grab a 4-pack on your way out!! Love love love this place. My husband and I live really close and come a few times a month. It's a small place but we always manage to find seating. They have a good selection of beer for my husband. I don't drink beer but they always have at least one cider on tap and a fridge full of ciders and wine. The paninis are fantastic (especially the turkey one!) and they have games...we usually grab ourselves a drink, a panini and a deck of cards. Staff is also always really friendly. Taplands is a gem. My girlfriends and I had a great time in their patio. Everyone was super nice and helpful. We didn't have a reservation on a Saturday and we were seated right away. They offered to tilt our umbrella so the sun wouldn't hit our eyes. We enjoyed the Fieldwork Hazy IPA and the Mission trail Pera de sol cider We got the pita points to share, they were deliciously seasoned and served with three different dips. Seating can be limited inside when things get busy, but the outdoor tables are kept toasty under heat lamps during the winter. Wow. Taplands is amazing. Pleasant bartenders, great beer selection, and huge cheese plates! Friends and I were just planning to kill a little bit of time, and happened to stop by here. The place isn't too large, and I'm sure it would have been better in terms of space had it not been raining (there was some patio seating outside...), but there are some great taps from within California and outside - I had a cold brew coffee stout, which was delish. My friend's Nitro porter was even better, though - so smooth. What really got me was their cheese plate. I was wondering why it costed more than the prosciutto, then it came to our couch/table, and then I knew. They give really decent portions - ours had brie, mozzarella, goat cheese, and blue cheese, with raisins, walnuts and bread. All of the cheeses were fantastic, and they even gave us more bread when we asked, since there was still more cheese on our plate. Well start off by if you are a brew hopper you would know it is a kid / dog friendly environment . Been coming here now more than a hand full of times - parkings great , customer service is knowledgeable and helpful .. but today ... I GOT SOME TIME. We brewery hop in different states and up the coast many times and make it a point to always check out anything down the road because it's close by the house and the rotating selections are good. Now every other time we have come ABSOLUTELY NO COMPLAINTS - mind you we come with our frenchie who has been to just as many breweries as we have - never has been a problem . We attended the 3 year tapland anniversary today because we have always felt apart of the family -In line waiting to order per ush - we get our regular bartender which was going to take our drink order then from left field Matt runs over like we have a damn dog infested with rabies and keeps saying" this is a place where we sell food no dogs inside !!Go outside " As if we are trash bags that don't understand the English language we acknowledge him and say" okay we're just about to order" : Matt tells us someone can order and I need to go out side .. whatever rules are rules -and most places that have selections of beers do sell food , where u can order inside with no problems .At this point Camino brewery sells 3 tacos instead of 2 for same price and what do ya know ... they sell food and dogs can be inside . Though some could argue that I'm biased to this place as a former Santa Clara University student, I can say in hindsight that this is a truly awesome place with a pleasant atmosphere, delicious food, and a wide variety of really good drinks. It'a reasonably priced and it's especially nice that they allow you to taste drinks when ordering. I really enjoy all their ciders and in terms of food, the cheese plate, pita pockets, and deviled eggs are really good. I think this place was 4+ stars for me for a while, but I was there this week and found out they BREW THEIR OWN BEER. Solid. I've been coming here pretty frequently since I've decided it was time to provide moral support for my brethren who are still studying for the CA Bar. We love beer, so naturally this place was a huge hit. They have a phenomenal beer list, always something new, and the bartenders are fun! Now that I've been a few times, they know me, as well as the kinds of beers I like to order, so sometimes they will just toss me a taster of something new and ask me what I think of it. They also use digitalpour so you can check in all you want on untappd and get that glory (gamified drinking, who would have thought)! It's too bad they close at 10pm although I've outstayed my welcome and left at close to 11 before chatting with friends and closing up the bar. Superb! read more
