We visited Tapped Apple Cider & Winery while spending the weekend in CT. It is just a short ride into RI. Lori greeted us and recommended flights as we were first-time visitors. Between 4 of us we were able to sample just about everything on the menu. We also ordered snacks from the large assortment available. We were surprised to find that we had 6 choices from ciders, wines, cocktails, and balsamic vinegars. We were skeptical of those, but Lori assured us that the vinegar combos were favorites. Came here on a Sunday afternoon since we were already in the area. The taproom wasn't too busy and able to find a seat easily. The person working the bar explained the tasting menu and there were more options to choose from than expected. Our surprising favorite of both flights was the balsamic infusions! I hosted a private event this past weekend and the whole process was a breeze. The space is industrial with local art and high ceilings. A few cluster of balloons and some mini flower vases and the space is perfect for any event. The Cider, wine and mixed drinks as delicious. The staff is so nice, knowledgeable and friendly. I highly suggest the Balsamic Cider. So different but really amazing. This is a hidden gem that should be utilized for any event! From showers to birthdays, anniversary's, retirements and more. The ordering experience was a bit confusing and overly structured for a cidery -- you order at the bar but they ask how many are in your party and assign you a table, and the bartender seemed very frustrated that I didn't know the process coming into it lol. I went with a cider/wine flight and it was fantastic. For the price, I'd like to have the wine samples filled up like the cider samples but there might be a reason they serve it that way. We stopped here on our way back to Boston after catching a solid meal at PizzaPlace down the block and we all had a great time! Our server and guide was a lot of fun and very informative for those of us in the group that were deciding to partake in the spirits. The tasting menu is laid out in a clean and logical way as well, making it easy to make selections to match one's preferences. The art on the walls was eclectic and interesting, even if it wasn't really my style of art. And the collection of board games and cards gave us something to pass the time while the boozers sipped their flights and decided what they did and did not like. Really the only disappointing thing is that they don't have any cider that isn't non-alcoholic, as I don't really do soda and am not a fan of seltzer. On our last minute trip to Watch Hill, I saw great reviews for this cider winery and I immediately booked a reservation When we arrived, we were looking to ear first and John at the front gave us great recommendations on where to walk to and told us that our reservation works still be fine when we returned We returned, I had a flight tasting of apple cider with elderberries to apple cider with ginger and even one made in a bourbon barrel. Went on Christmas Eve and it wasn't packed at all. We decided to go with the tasting and I loved it! You get to choose 6 options between apple based wines and ciders. We ended up trying almost all of them and they were all very tasty! My favorite was actually the ciders. The IPA cider was just so good I ordered it again! I had a very good experience at Trapped Apple Winery. The staff were all very friendly, wearing masks and the seating arrangements were definitely spaced out. I would recommend this place! read more

This place just never fails! Super fun place to come spend the afternoon or evening! Everytime we have been here there has been live entertainment and it really puts you in a good mood! We decided to do another full flight tasting with chocolate pairing on this visit and I think all the wines are really good, but I am still sticking with Cerise Noir and Sweet Temptation as my two favorites! This cidery was amazing! Really interesting flavors, incredibly affordable, and the staff went above and beyond! My two favorites were the mulled cider and the blueberry vanilla. The only thing to be aware of is that ride share apps don't service this area so be prepared to drive. I know it'll be hard for a small, family owned business, but I really hope they either move to a popular spot or start distributing throughout NE. Tapped Apple is a fun and different winery experience. They offer several types of Apple wines or Apple-wine blends. They are all great, but I especially love the Cerise Noir. If you want to drink at the winery, they offer wine by the flight, glass, or carafe. The carafe gives you the best deal by far, giving you wine on tap at a fair price. SO and I went in on a Thurs after a vacation beach day. We got there around 5:30, shortly after it opened, and we were the only ones there until we left, when another couple came in. Lori was helpful with tasting flight decisions and recommendations (and also with game picking!). We also ordered a small meat/cheese/cracker platter. We each got flights (6/$18), and with the charcuterie board it totaled around $50-55. I bet it's a cool place to go for a weekend evening night out, and I'm sure it'd be quite a bit busier. It was such a nice day I wish they had some outdoor seating, which is the only reason for the non 5 star rating. I loved Tapped Apple Winery! My friends and I visited on a cold Thursday night over winter break and we are happy we did! The staff was incredible and the options for flights were endless! The flight is $2 per wine/cider up to 5 options and then $1 each after that. I opted to try 6 for the $11 and I loved the Apple Pie Wine so much I ordered a glass after! I wouldn't be alarmed if the place is empty when you arrive as the cider and wine is most definitely worth it. The decor is cute and the village in Westerly where it's located is quaint. The bartender we had was lovely and she provided us with a lot of knowledge on our samples as well as pleasant conversation. 100/10!! I was visiting RI from out of town with my cousin and we decided to stop in. Tapped is located in the quaint downtown of Westerly and features a delicious selection of ciders. The servers are knowledgeable and will give you the run-down of the menu. Definitely do a flight before choosing one, the ciders we thought we'd like the least were our favorites. We were recommended the maple balsamic cider and it was unlike anything we've ever had- absolutely incredible. Don't let the balsamic deter you, I ended up taking an entire growler home with me. The apple pie wine was equally delicious and just like the maple balsamic cider- taste was right on par. The other aspect of Tapped that I love is their features of the local community. This was not only reflected in their ciders by using locally grown apples, but also in the art they have on the walls. Tapped is a true local gem and I look forward to watching this spot grow! We also ordered a small snack board but it wasn't all that impressive, so I would forego that unless you really need something to snack on. My husband & I had this lovely Monday off of work so we decided to make a day and try some wineries on the Connecticut wine trail. We had to stop at the Tapped Apple Winery on the way. I think it's awesome that all wines are made from apples. What a fun little spot! We were the first customers so it was very quiet when we arrived. We wanted to do the tasting to get a feel for all of the wines/cider. To be honest I am definitely more of a sweet wine kinda girl but my husband enjoyed most of the wines and cider. I first tried the fruit wines at a fundraiser and was impressed. So we stopped at their store on the way to the casino. What a lovely area Westerly is with so many interesting stores and restaurants. We tried a few wines and each chose one to buy one by the glass. I really enjoy the fruit wines and it was a difficult decision but I loved my choice. We chatted with the owner and found out that there was entertainment regularly and that we could either buy snacks there or bring our own food. My gf mentioned this place and I really expected it to be your run-of-the-mill tasting, but fortunately I was pleasantly surprised. They are located in what looks to be a renovated old brick building which retained some of that old look while containing a modern bar area and some storage containers and stills toward the back. It's clear they are very proud of their product, and speaking to Adam, they aren't going to be content with the status quo and have plenty of improvements in the works. What I liked most was their variety and unique offerings. I expected wines with slight variations, but instead encountered very different creations that alone were surprisingly good when paired with their locally made chocolate truffles, adding an additional flavor wrinkle to the experience. All of the offerings were good in their own way, but the two most unique that I also enjoyed the most was a hopped wine called Hoposite Attraction and a smokey flavored wine called Light My Fire. The first smelled like an IPA but didn't have that biting hops flavor an IPA has. The latter was a smokey flavored wine that hints at a scotch. They have some really interesting changes and collaborations coming and I would strongly recommend checking them out and trying the really cool products they've created. read more

Let me start by saying my husband and I have been to EVERY current winery in Rhode Island. This one we spent 2+ hours at, comfortably conversating with customers and host alike. Dont worry if you are in a hurry, they can accommodate your needs. Adam behind the bar was a delight. He was funny, the perfect host. So much so that I wanted to hire him to host my cocktail parties. On to the apple wines, I did not dislike one... not one. My husband and I shared a flight of all six wines they offered. Their top seller, Light My Fire, was my "least" favorite, but still very tasty. We enjoyed a carafe the Sweet Temptation, five glasses for $20, can't go wrong there. It was such a wonderful time! Very friendly and attentive to our needs, we were able to sit and have an amazing visit and never felt rushed even as the time flew by.
