Absolute worst bar in Chico. Drinks are overpriced and bartender added a digit to my tip charging me 6x more than I intended. Took 25 minutes on a not so busy night to close my tab. Terrible atmosphere and weird crowd. Can confidently say I will never step foot in this bar ever again. Do yourself a favor and go to the bear or frankys. read more

Our first time here. Drinks were perfect. Well iced and right strength. Great beer selection. Food was delicious!! We had the fish tacos. Cod was crispy fried. Nice steamed tortillas with a great cream and Serrano's and crispy lettuce. Ordered the white pizza. My pizza hating husband loved it and so did I. Also had the oriental chicken salad. So good. Clean, variety of menu choices and friendly staff. We (2 adults, 2 kids) went for lunch on a Saturday and it was not too busy. They only had two cooks in back and we waiting 40 minutes before we inquired about the status of our order. We were told that they were starting the food after 40 minutes. Decided to come in last Saturday for my wife's birthday with a group of 4 adults and 2 children at 12:30 in the afternoon, not to mention it was opening weekend of college football, and all they could offer us was a Brunch menu. Service was not that great and what you order from the menu is NOT what you are served. The chicken piccata and steaks were served with angel hair pasta instead of the mash potatoes as presented in the menu and my friends meal was served 15 mins before the other 4 meal were. Wow! What a great experience. We decided we wanted something different for dinner and decided to check out Taps. So glad we did. The menu has something for everyone. One person in our party says it was the best burger they've ever had. I enjoyed the Reuben, the pastrami was very lean and the french fries were outstanding. This was at least as good as Burgers and Brews if not better and there was no hour long wait for a table. Their selection of beers was extensive. The service was amazing. This was my first time coming here. Came in and there was my party of two and another party of two. Completely empty. Ordered the California burger medium and a house salad to go with it. The salad was good. Crispy and cold. The burger came out well well done. It was tough and chewy. Charred on the outside. Not the juicy burger I was expecting. I wanted to say something but cook already had a cigarette in is hand, talking to the server, ready to go out and smoke. We had to ask for utensils and then were only given forks. We then had to ask again for knives. Definitely won't make a trip all the way across town again for the food. Gave two stars because the house salad was good. But how do you mess up a salad? Came to celebrate a birthday and will never be coming back. If I could give a 0 I would. We arrived at 12:30 for brunch and bottomless mimosas and got our food at 2. Bottomless ends at 2 and we got our glasses filled twice while sitting here. It took an hour and a half to get our food and half of it was completely wrong. I'm surprised how attentive the server was and friendly. Bar fare was great. Little dark and noisy but will def happy hour there again. Wings were delicious and was able to get them crispy. Sliders were yummy you get 3 and the fried raviolis were fun to try served in a tomato sauce. read more

I ordered the Mac and cheese and was severely disappointed about the quality and taste. It wasn't very cheesy and it was covered in grease. My 5 Star rateing is for the server Briannah. I'm not one to complain when I don't like something but she noticed I didn't like was I was served and remedied the situation by offering something else. I ordered the Ruben and it was fantastic. She didn't charge me for either the Mac and cheese or the Ruben. Her customer service defiantly means I will be coming back to Taps. read more

Let me start by saying our waitress was great. Very sweet, kept our drinks full, checked on us multiple times. She should absolutely go work somewhere that is going to stay open because there is no way this place will stay open with the food they are serving. This was the worst meal I have eaten in Chico. Upon walking in the tv's are so loud it is unnerving. There is no place to sit where loudness isn't blaring down at you. Even our waitress remarked that you can't hear anything in there. We all orders burgers with different sides. My burger was so over cooked (as were my dining companions.) we all ordered medium, but received hockey-puck. Our sides weren't any better. My sweet potato fries looked and tasted as though they had been sitting inside of the fryer all day. The globulous mass that came out on my friend's plate was supposed to be onion rings but looked like a rat that survived nuclear war. It was just one mass of burnt mess. My stomach is killing me and I just can't believe that anyone has ever received an edible meal here. Avoid at all costs. read more

It was our servers first day (Shauna I believe) and she was awesome checking on us repeatedly through the meal but her coworker Amanda ruined the entire experience. My buddy came and joined us at our table. She immediately came up and rudely asked to see his id. He explained he's not drinking and she walked away making more rude comments under her breath. I said excuse me because I was shocked and she started to berate me from across the restaurant. Something extremely unprofessional that I've never experienced from someone in the service industry, especially to have her escalate the situation so intensely. After Amanda yelled at us from across the restaurant, we told her this would affect the tip and she snarkily said "I don't care not my table." Like u really don't care you'd be affecting your brand new coworkers tip?.. Our waitress (Shauna) handled the situation perfectly and I hope for the best for her! The food was good. The service was okay. No smoking signs up, yet there were 2 guys vaping outside. (Vaping falls under the same laws if there are no smoking signs). Anyways, all the waitresses ignored the fact that they were vaping because they were clearly friends with them, and as they were vaping all the smoke would go to our table. One of the waitresses kept going outside to vape with them and it was very unprofessional. Really ruined our experience there. read more

Prices are good, service is slow, mac n cheese was awful, mozzarella sticks were ok. MAC was good at first but the aftertaste was so bad- I spit it out. The mozzarella sticks were good, not too greasy. However the dipping Nara ara was cold, not sure it was supposed to be. I thought it was a bit unprofessional to see the manager( not 100% sure but my fiancé and I both got the manager vibe from her) order rounds for her friends. I was really pleased with the bartender as he made sure I was ordering something I would like, however, I do not see myself coming back. Way to noisy! If you love quakers you'll love this place. Not planned out well when it comes to ambience. We stopped in to have a drink and we're glad that was all. Friendly, staff and management. Food looked great but just way to noisy. Only about half full of customers. Can't imagine what it would sound like on a real busy night. We will come back to try their food but really we were hoping for a place that we could enjoy. NOT, had a haeadache when I got home but...we will give them one more try.
