i found a hair on my food! super unsanitary clearly the cooks aren't wearing the correct equipments when cooking. I did call the restaurant and they ask me if i wanted something new but after finding that long hair i was just disgusted and disappointed.

These were carnitas nachos. I can't find near or chips. Disgusting.

This is the worst Mexican food I have ever seen! My hubby wanted Mexican breakfast. It was so disappointing. Tasted off, super dry , I even ordered the eggs over easy and they came scrambled and dry. I ordered a nacho plate for my kids to try. The j's hos were soggy and buried under tons of something wet and separating from itself anddddd lettuce. Large chunks of peppers and onions also hit barely any meat. Just a soggy, awful looking mess. I will never order from this place again and I hope they close for everyone's safety. Awfulllll.

    Plastic in cemita

I stopped by with my boyfriend and food was not good. We purchase a picadita($5) and a cemita which is 11 according to the menu. We also purchased a bong and a small drink. According to the menu fresh drinks are $4 and bongs are 3. Adding 5+11+3+4 = 23 but yet I was charged $25. I expected my food to have the best quality but ended up being alright. My picadita looked like a big tortilla with all the toppings mixed. Also, on my cemita there was a plastic, I will NEVER STOP here again.

Taqueria Acatlan feels like a homey place. There isn't a lot of seating but good for part of 2-4. The portions are big so it's worth it even if it's on the expensive side. But still pocket-friendly in a way. We mostly get tacos when we go there and they don't disappoint. Perfect food before or after a night out with friends. They aren't shy with their ingredients and the food tastes authentic!

We tried a burrito which itself was good. It was a substantial size too. But we received a salsa verde only half full (definitely not enough for an entire huge burrito) but the reason we will not be returning was the side of vegetables and pico that we received; the tomatoes were slimy and had a thick film on them like they've been sitting around for a LONG time. Wasn't able to really capture it in a photo but I assure you, the consistency was NOT normal.

Imagine a taco truck that has no wheels. That is Taqueria El Paisa. Yes there's a building but you order at a sidewalk facing window and eat leaning near it (or the at the one tiny table). Since I was riding my bike, this was perfect as I didn't have to lock everything up, but instead ate curbside. The lack of restaurant space is also reflective in their pricing... two heaping meat tacos and a coke cost a mere $5. Everything is cooked to order and I was encouraged by the two men prepping cilantro. I really liked the carnitas but the beef was a tad salty. Still, the ladies cooking were nice and the men got a little worried when I snapped some photos, but I assured them I wasn't "The Man." I'm a tad jealous there's no permanent sidewalk Mexican place near me, but then again, i might never buy groceries if there was. If nearby, check it out.

Never seen enchiladas like this - yum!!!

Best enchiladas! We were wandering around on New Year's Day and this place was open and looked good. The service is a little bit slow but they make all their tortillas fresh and the enchiladas are the best I've had. I got barbacoa with green sauce. Tacos were also great. Extra thrills added when the staff pop out of a trap door in the floor.

I always want to give a fair review and I am a easy customer. This is my Second time ordering and same thing happened. Listen to this; I ordered at 12:01. I ordered 5 tacos and my house is 15mn from the restaurant... I received my order at 1;25! Do the math; 5 tacos, not even a full meal. I gave two stars because at least they picked up the phone but if you plan on being hungry at 12(sacarsm) order ahead of time otherwise you will be pissed. My husband had the time to sleep, I had to wake him up to go take the order. Please be aware of the "almost two hours" delivery.

What is this? Super minimal effort, and never deliver on time. Can we get more Mexican restaurants delivering in Crown Heights already?

The nachos were soggy and the meat made me feel sick. And honestly, a little bit pricey for the style of food this is.

Everyone that works there is super attentive and for how busy they are they always make sure to check up on your table. Their tacos are extremely delicious, they don't hold back with make sure each taco is full of any kind of meat that you get! Full of flavor and just looking at them reminds you why they're the best. Some other notable things that you should get is the quesadillas and the nachos they have. I'll have to keep coming back to try other things. This neighborhood gem offers an industrialized minimalist form of decor with pops of color and art. Cozy but roomy, the bar area had mostly 2 seater tables and a few with high chairs. We recently went for a birthday brunch. Restaurant Week was still in effect but we decided to choose from the regular brunch menu. Place was low key and giving neighborhood vibes. The service was 10 STARS! Our waitress was extremely attentive and kind. We were also checked on by a second staff member who I think may have been a manager but cannot be certain. We started with cocktails and they serve chips and salsa gratis. I had the Jalapeno and Hibiscus Margarita and my friend ordered the Pepper Margarita with Strawberry and Chipotle. Mine was a bit on the sweet side without a hint of tequila. My friend's drink definitely was the better of the two. Not overly sweet and definitely a flavor of tequila was present. We also ordered a guacamole. I must say it was quite small and barely served 2 people. I suggest if more than 2 guests are part of the experience, order more than one. For my entree, I requested a market salad and 2 veggie tacos with a side of birria consume. Salad was very fresh and I am sure was made to order as opposed to premade a week prior and waiting in a fridge to be served. My tacos were average but satisfying. The consume was a bit disappointing as it was more of a water/broth based and not of a typical gravy consistency. It was not exciting. My friend's entree was the highlight of the experience. She had the brisket quesadilla. Never have I seen a quesadilla with a crispy outside such as this. A culinary masterpiece indeed. She consumed it all and not one complaint afterward. Delish. We did receive a complimentary Churro plate for the birthday celebration. They were drizzled with caramel and berries. Served warm, they were a dream for the palate. I did use the bathroom which was a single stall. It was clean enough but not well lit. The biggest downfall of my experience was the temperature of the restaurant. I understand it is summer, however, there was no A/C and the inside was extremely hot. I sweated through my entire experience. Even the bathroom felt like 100 degrees. We did not complain but our waitress noticed and brough a fan out to circulate the air. They do have ceiling fans but honestly I did not feel them. The management/owner should consider more temperature control methods during the hotter months as it was quite uncomfortable. To sum it up, I thought this experience was mostly positive and would patronize it again.

Most of all, what I really appreciated with every bite is that I wanted more and that it was so unique compared to anything else that I had ever tried. I thought the tasting menu was a really good deal, but you should also consider booking just a la carte because everything was so solid. You can tell when the chips served alongside the guacamole are so delicious and so unique that the rest of the meal is going to be incredible. I will say that it did seem slightly understaffed. Our waiters did the best they could, but dinner took longer than expected. It was still a great experience for both those on dates and those there with friends!
