The quesobirria tacos really hit the spot- crispy, pan-fried outer shell, melty cheese, and tender meat inside served with a side of meaty broth and hot sauce. There is a toppings bar here so if you're a bit of a germaphobe you might want to keep that in mind. I like that you can load up on onion/cilantro, and have your pick of salsas. I've drove by this place many times and finally decided to go there one day when I was craving tacos. I'm glad to see they had lengua tacos so I ordered a couple of those along with menudo. My gf got birria tacos and then got a carne asada taco. You place your order at the counter and when your buzzer goes off you get your food and then add your own toppings and sauces from the bar. That's the end of the service provided. I was also hoping to get a homemade agua Fresca by they only have bottle Jarritos. Don't be fooled by the pictures as these were probably the tiniest tacos I've ever had (this includes all around the US, Cali, TX, Mexico etc). Legit 2 biter. The flavor of the tacos were decent and I do like their green and red sauce better than many of the surrounding other places. The fried jalapeno and onions is a plus. The menudo was slightly on the bland side. I was disappointed that there wasn't any hominy in it. Not worth the price. Out of what I ordered the birria tacos were probably the best in terms of flavor and value. 3 in an order. Overall the place is pretty average. For the price and what I got, I would rather go to a local sit down full service Mexican restaurant. read more

Walk into this little spot for some authentic Mexican food. It's always bustling during lunch time due to lunch specials. You can dine in or pick up but I prefer to pick up since they're always quite busy. Dependent on the staff at the cash register, there can be good service. Prices are cheap which I love and you can get the most bang for your buck. What's lacking is the presentation of the plates, seems to me like they are rushed and don't put much love into the food. I ordered the birria tacos and the meat and the consomé were delicious, only thing that wasn't up to par is the fact that the tortilla was a little burnt which takes away from the birria tacos. If I could give this restaurant a 3.5 I would. For the price of the tacos, I would come again. read more

Great tacos at a good deal! They have legit yummy salsas and toppings for the meals. If you are really hungry, I would recommend to order the quesadillas or more than 3 tacos because they are pretty small. If you haven't been before, please try going before sunset. This place is the real deal. For ages I've been craving tacos that were half as good as the ones I ate for every meal in Santa Ana for a week straight, and by god does this place hit the mark. The quesabirria is godlike. I would take a bath in that consommé if I could. I also got two of the asada tacos, which were great. The Taqueria Ameca Jalisco that we visited is not this one. The one I reviewed and loved is at 3558 S. Orange Ave. I don't know for sure that the two places are run by the same people, but they do have the same name. The photo I put on the South Orange Blossom Trail one is actually of the South Orange Ave place. Very confusing with all the Oranges. I wish the owners of the two places would straighten this out. For what the South Orange Ave place serves, this is still a five star taco place. Fine dining it's not, but it serves mighty fine tacos. read more

Small & quaint. I found it to be authentic and perfect. Hand made corn tortillas. Very small tacos that fit in the palm of your hand. Mexican coca coal is available there as well. The place over all is small but the staff is friendly and they offer many varieties of tacos such as lengua,al pastor and even cows head. The best tiniest taco I've ever had. It takes about 5-6 to feed a hungry person. Between my dad, my husband and me we tried about 6 different meats. All were nicely seasoned and had great flavor. Top faves were Asada, Cabeza, Barbacoa and carnitas. Their tortillas are homemade and have great texture and just the right thickness. We also got an order of sopes. Again homemade masa, had extraordinary flavor, topped with beans, meat of your choice, cabbage mix, sour cream, cheese, onions and tomatoes. We got no tomatoes and no onions because I think it can distracts from the flavor of the meat and the masa if you end up with too many veggies on top. The woman behind the counter was very nice despite our difficulty communicating. She gave me a free tres leches cake on the way out. This is a cute hole in the wall. Located on OBT across the street from sweethearts. I must have passed this place a million times and never noticed it. Parking lot is small but you can find a spot. There open pretty decent hours. When we first walked in it was packed. They have seating inside, a small toppings bar with grilled onions different salsas, cabbage, onion& cilantro to name a few. Very friendly staff. The menu is small but decent tacos go for $1.25 each & they are small indeed. (Probably a circumference of a pt/qt soup top) we ended up getting 12 tacos 6 for each of us to try different meats. Our order ranged from carne asada, tripe, chicharon, cabeza, carnitas, Barbacoa. I truly enjoyed the tripe. My boyfriend ended up eating my cabeza (head) taco and mistook it for carne asada (but he loved it, so I got another to try myself) I think they make the tortillas there themselves because it retains a lot of the toppings you might pile on and are not soggy at all. The meat was hot and tasted good not spicy or over bearing. We also got drinks everything comes in a bottle (no fountain drinks here) They also sell soup and tortas and have a small breakfast selection. They different Mexican candies and chips along w Mexican popsicle in various flavors. Decor inside is cute, Mexican Heritage throughout. Hands down best Tacos in town! The mini tacos are $1.25 a piece. I usually eat 4-5 of them. Great price for amazing food! I usually don't eat corn tortillas, but these homemade tortillas are amazing! Only place I'll eat the corn tortillas! You may need to brush up on your Spanish before you arrive, they speak minimal English at this place. Also, it would be helpful to have a working knowledge of the different types of meat. A real Taqueria in Orlando. Easy to get to. Exit OBT, make a left at the first crack head, turn right at the next hooker and make a quick uturn at the second homeless drunk. OK so its not in the nicest area, but the tacos are amazing. They are like true taco cart tacos in Mexico. They offer barbacoa, carnitas, adobado, asada, legua, cabeza, chicken. I use to love going there,my family use to love going there,we loved it there.(Its in a bad area but my family didnt care,the tacos WERE good) But as time went on,their quality starting lacking.They raised the price by a quarter for each taco,no big deal.But then started making the tortillas smaller.Ever since Ive been there,their small store did look a little unclean sometimes.That was a bit of a concern but it didnt really affect the food (I hope).They could have a bigger bathroom and farther from the seats.Anyway,my family has stopped going there after seeing TWO DEAD FLIES mixed in with the toppings at the toppings bar.It was pretty disgusting.Definitely wont be back.Each visit just kept getting worse after a while.Im done with that place.I really would not recommend due to the uncleanliness.The tacos tasted good but Im not taking chances. read more
