Taqueria De Anda was my go to spot 12 years ago when I went to community college in Fullerton near that location. A decade later and I'm happy to update that it is still just as delicious as ever. The Whittier location is tucked away off Mulberry and La Mirada Blvd. I was greeted by the friendly staff and aroma of assorted meats and cilantro and onion. The carne asada is some of the best in the taco game: tender and flavorful. In a taco or burrito you cannot miss with the carne asada. I also ordered carnitas which were full of flavor and paired nicely with their tangy salsa verde. The horchata was refreshing and ice cold with hints of rice and spice that was more than nice. I love Tacos De Anda and have always enjoyed the Fullerton location, but I will never return to the Whittier location! After a long day at work and commuting home, I was craving some tacos and remembered liking this place--so I decided to stop by. I walked into an empty Tacos De Anda and was met with three blank stares--one from the cook (a younger female), one from the cashier (a male), and one from the assembler (an older female). No greeting. No acknowledgment. Just silence. As I stepped in, the cashier turned around and said something to the team, though I couldn't make out what. He then turned back toward me and just stared, making no effort to assist me or take my order. At this point, the shift in energy was obvious, and it immediately rubbed me the wrong way. Still, I awkwardly chuckled to break the tension and said, "Hello! How are you guys doing tonight?" Not one of them said a single word. Being in customer service myself, I know how to control a conversation, so I just went ahead and started ordering--realizing that if I didn't, there wouldn't be any engagement at all. I asked for two carnitas and two al pastor tacos. Instead of acknowledging my order, the cashier just walked away and continued packing an Uber Eats order. When my tacos were finally ready, he asked if I wanted anything else. I then had to specifically ask for the grilled onions and peppers--something I had assumed would come with the tacos since I saw them being packed with the Uber order. I'm not sure if they now charge for them or if they're still complimentary, but they weren't offered, and they weren't included in my bag as they should have been. At this point, I couldn't help but feel like they were intentionally withholding standard items from my order. We ordered food for my daughter's graduation party for 50 people. Everyone raved about the carnitas, carne asada, chicken, rice and beans! The food was ready at the time we asked for, hot and in sturdy containers to make transport easy. I would use them for our next big gathering for sure. read more

I wanna say I get food from this place AT LEAST once a month. At first we were in awe of the nachos. Then we tried tacos and they are delicious, and today we tried the burrito. The place never disappoints. The only time I can see someone being upset is if they don't like stuffed/heavy amounts. If you're into watered down taco spots, I can see the flavors being overpowering but overall, a great go to! If I could leave 0 starts I would. I got the lengua and asada tacos and they were so bland and hard I couldn't even eat them. I fed it to my dogs , and even then hesitated because the meat was so hard and dry... The horchata tasted awful as well , like it had chemicals. Very concerned and disappointed about the cleanliness here. I was quite taken it back at that, being I have been coming to this place for years now. Since the name change, I have noticed a lot of positive changes. But these last few visits have not been the best as far as cleanliness, customer service, and portion sizing. With covid-19 in full effect, this level of dirty cannot continue. The limes are fully exposed to any droplets and you can tell the sneeze guards have not been cleaned recently. The floor definitely needs a good sweeping and a deep scrubbing. I wasn't able to get good pictures of the grill, but it didn't look appeasing. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito, It was $5.19 and much smaller then usual. The workers assisting me are very rude and unprofessional tonight, which isn't always the case. Tacos are delicious and hit the spot every time. Tripa is super crunchy! Personally I think it's the best tripa taco around, I highly recommend them. Chicken and Al Pastor is full of flavor. Tacos and burritos are usually packed with meat. The only thing I wasn't impressed by was the beans, I had high hopes since they look delicious. They aren't bad, just not as good as they looked. These tacos never fail, the salsas are spicy, the tacos are full of flavor they're delicious. My top one is Al Pastor it is so well done and spicy. My other favorites are cabeza y asada. What I like about the asada tacos from here is that saben asar la carne they don't use that nasty pellejuda meat that looks boiled that most taco trucks use for their asada. My kids favorite is the combo plate, they really enjoy the beans they have a little bit of spice to them and taste home made and they add a good amount of meat and tortillas along. They're accommodating every time. I've also ordered a large order for my extended family and they loved it!! In total it ended up costing around $45 dollars for six people. I would drive a good distance out of my way, until they opened this location (THANK YOU!) I have to say though, I would drive further because their food is absolutely worth it. Food was ... I already miss Vic's Tacos. My wife and I came here today. I ordered an asada burrito and my wife ordered tripas, asada and pollo tacos. My asada burrito was so dry and had no flavor! I closed my eyes while chewing and could've been chewing on a piece of leather for all I knew. The asada meat was also diced so small it looked like someone pre-chewed it for me. The rice was also dried out. Meh... My wife's chicken taco probably had the best flavor. It was diced to the perfect size and wasn't dry at all. The tripas taco though was overcooked and way too crunchy. I came to the conclusion that lime and salsa is supposed to enhance the flavors of Mexican food, not make up for lack of flavor. If you do end up here, get the salsa on the side and try the food without lime and salsa and you'll see that the flavor just isn't there... read more

Even while taking our order, they continued to talk to each other. My husband asked to order drinks and the employee disappeared to the back room for no apparent reason and returned after a few minutes. My husband is very chill and he was the first to remark how unprofessional the employees were. Stopped here because consistently is usually a plus for chains. What a let down. Usually I have no issues ordering a quesadilla without the tortilla. How hard is it to put the meat you were going to use, and the cheese you were going to use, in a to-go box? You literally saved money on the tortilla. Didn't have to cook anything. Honestly, just that one detail would have made my night. Ended up paying for 4 tacos with just the meat in a tiny container. Didn't even bother asking for cheese. When they finally decided I could have meat without tortillas, they failed to ask what kind of meat, but by now I just had to accept whatever they deemed available for my dietary needs. They gave my partner the wrong kind of meat, and the lengua he DID order was chewy and overcooked. The "whatever" meat they gave me was too chewy for my daughter to eat, and definitely not enjoyable for me. Can't speak for all locations, but this one absolutely sucked in every way. Rude oblivious staff, unaccommodating manager (who sat there lazily, agreeing that I was required to have a tortilla in order to have a quesadilla) and not in any way apologetic for not meeting special dietary requirements. Never had any location tell me that is wasn't possible. Some locations have talented cooks who will even use the cheese as it's own tortilla! Delicious. Not here. crumby service. Crappy meat. Too bad too, location is relatively clean and ample seating. Try a different de anda spot or support a mom and pop shop in the area. Service is bound to be better. read more

They didn't even give me the option of green salsa, and non limes included. Meats sit a while in warmers and tend to be on the dry side. Al pastor is my favorite here..carnitas are mushy..carne asada is tough and gamey. Tacos are 99 cents on Taco Tuesdays. Horchata here is very good. Last visit, I called in a takeout order, they said no problem. I get there and no order is filled and all of a sudden no one speaks English. No one had a clue who took the order. Came here to try this place out for the first time. It's not far from my home and I was in the mood for tacos. Boy was I left down. I ordered Asada and Pastor tacos. Not only were they almost cold to the touch, they lacked flavor big time. They didn't offer any sides like jalapeños, or cooked onions. And I was welcomed by two individuals who seems bothered that I was asking to have my meal at the restaurant rather than taking it to go. Overall this has been a pretty bad experience for tacos. Aside from being flavorless, the meat was dry and over cooked, and cold. This will be my one and only time coming to this place. We decided to try this place since I love street tacos. A few things struck me right off the bat. First of all, there was a spit for the al pastor. (Some of these places are not legit because the meat is not spinning on the trompo) Secondly, the place was spotless and air-conditioned. Yes, I am a wimp but it's been really HOT these last few days. And like most taquerias around here, on Tuesdays the tacos are only $.99. I had three tacos including the al pastor. They were delicious and every bit as good as my favorite taqueria in the area, Cilantro Tacos.
