I've been coming here for a few years now and have had nothing but good experiences. That is until today. A younger white lady with a bunch of tattoos who was taking our order seemed like she did not want to be there. (I think she is new)Not to mention I always felt like Tom's has been generous on most occasions when it came to portions sizes. Not this time. The food is good! I've had it a couple times at my work since they cater food from here and I think the chicken is marinated well. Hard taco and soft taco options... it's build it your own style, but you can also check out their deals Monday - Friday. I really enjoyed their crispy tacos. chips are yummy. I wouldn't say it's authentic Mexican food, but still hits and I do enjoy the option to build your own food and they have a bar on the side so you know the place can get pretty packed. I would say for large parties... call ahead of time because it doesn't seem to be that big inside; also cashier said at the time beers were $4, but the bartender was ringing up $5. Food is really great, would come here more if not for the bad customer service. The younger male workers always look bothered or annoyed by your presence as if they wished they were anywhere else. Finally!!! Found a great burrito/taco/chili cheese fries place. Great price, service was excellent. Food was prepared right in front of you. They even fried my taquitos, fries, and puffy taco right on the spot. The burrito was a very healthy size and it was not $17 dollars and puny like other places. Have been a craving for a while. They offer lots of options from loaded fries, nachos, and other standard fare. They have also made changes inside with digital menu boards and a bar with several hi-top tables. I had the half order of nachos which is plenty. The chile verde and shredded beef with habanero salsa. Yum ! So why three stars you ask ? The service was slow. I am patient and understanding but when I see a suboptimal processes and then people standing while you have a customer line 15 deep. Well not good. My opinion they kind of need to define what experience they want customers to have. Maybe take the order and then run the orders to tables. I am glad they survived the pandemic and I like the quality, but just need to tighten up the experience. read more

I'm not sure what is going on at TT? This is the 2nd time in a month I've placed an on-line order and when I show up 10 min after the ready time I have to wait another 20/30 minutes. I thought the last time was a one off but I guess not. The food preparation person was nice and told me to just go to the register, when I got there and gave them my name they were dumbfounded, I could tell by the way they huddled up and had a LARGE stack of orders in their hands that something was wrong. The lady with the glasses was nice and I heard her tell another customer who was waiting for 30 minutes for his order that the fat girl had not been pulling the orders. The lady with the glasses was nice and apologized to everyone and showed remorse, the fat one thought everything was funny, didn't say anything to anyone and started rushing out orders. When I finally got mine it was a mess, I ordered 2 hard shell tacos and when I checked the order the bottoms were cracked , I'm sure because of rushing. I just left because I did not have another 40 minutes to wait nor did I want to make a scene. Bottom line this place is a mess so make sure you allow for EXTRA time if you place an on line order and double check it before you leave. Located in a small plaza in Whittier, is hands down the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. The menu is very simple with classic dishes like burritos, nachos, tacos, etc. and the price is very reasonable. All of the ingredients are very fresh and the meats are grilled perfectly. The staff here are very welcoming and there are plenty of TVs around the restaurant to catch a game while you eat your food. Highly recommend ordering the fully loaded nachos, it is only like a dollar more than the half order. The tortilla chips are very crispy and made fresh, and they do not skimp out on the toppings. They added tons of shredded cheese, pico, carne asada, guacamole, grilled onions, a grilled jalapeño, etc. all for just a little over $12. I had a few bites in the car before heading home, and despite the trip back home taking 20 minutes, the chips did not get soggy and retained its crunch. Group of three went for a lunch after playing indoor sports in the morning. One of us recommends full size nacho because it's so tasty and size is shareable for 3 of us. And we order 4 soft tacos and 2 drinks. If you answer yes to add cheese to tacos it's up charge $1.00 You pick what you see and what you want on Nachos and Tacos.
