I had ham and eggs with a piece of toast and you have a choice of large or small ham. I don't have a big appetite so I ordered the small ham and I'm glad I did because it was huge best breakfast I've ever had. My girlfriend had eggs Benedict and it was also excellent, I also had melons in for once they were ripe. Josh was a waiter and he was excellent ambience was great. Rarely give five stars but today was a good day! We came in around 1:35 and they close at 2...place was PACKED, which is always a great thing. We were seated right away. Perused the vast menu and decided on the Hermosa Chicken sandwich which was a nice sized chicken breast with sprouts, avo and bacon. Not a tomato lover, so I opt out. Nice size sandwich on whole wheat grilled bread. Honestly, it could have used a nice garlic, or basil/dill aeoli or something, but overall a good choice. The decor is Southern California based with surfboards, beach photos and pictures I recognized as Huntington Beach (I'm a native Californian, now AWOL). I loved the SDSU pennant on the wall - my college Alma mater in Arizona! Atmosphere is light and friendly, service attentive and food ample and satisfying. First time here and it won't be our last. Super cute cafe. We were quickly sat and drinks brought promptly. I had a reuben sandwich which was delicious. It was very flavorful and the meat was perfect along with a good serving size of crispy French fries. Others at the table hand french toast (said it was delicious), a breakfast with deep fried hash browns. Again, I was told it was delicious. We also tried the I17 breakfast. It was OK, not our favorite item but not bad. The menu has so many options that looked great. If you're in the area definitely worth a try versus the chain breakfast spots!! read more

I was looking for a place to have an early morning Saturday breakfast before heading over to Heather Glen alpaca, my favorite spot in AZ! Good mix of different ages and friendly vibe. Great to see staff joking around with one another. I love the portion for a half sandwich. $10 got me a half turkey and cheese with generous portion of delicious, starchy fries! Definitely a happy camper! Highly recommend stopping here! It's just off a main road tucked by a bunch of RVs, easy to miss at first. Love all the quotes everywhere! Certainly didn't hurt that the manager said I look like Uma Thurman! I'll take it! The influx of returning loyal customers definitely validates that this is a family spot where people feel welcome and I love seeing that, well done! read more

Been twice - got the burger eggs and potato breakfast and came back for a patty melt with sweet potato fries - both meals were perfection, awesome quick personal service, quality ingredients served up piping hot. Found this place while staying in town. Being from the South Bay, Cali, I recognized some of these dishes from growing up. Places like Unky Roy's, Eat at Joes, Roy's Place, Roy's Mill. Breakfast was killer! We're talking 3 eggs over medium, over corn tortillas, Spanish sauce covering sausage patties! Was called the John Wayne at Joes in Redondo Beach. Amazing. Chilequilles was also good, could have used more tortillas inside though. Great service, everyone here is busting their ass including the owner! read more

I wanted to give this place a five but I couldn't. Chicken fried steak chopped up in the dish was way overcooked and tasted like the oil was old. My French toast had a skin on it and it made it very tough or it could just be the bread they are using, but I would not order that again. Cute little spot up near Prescott valley . We stopped off on our way to Sedona for a day trip . Perfect way to start the day . Really clean and good amount of food for the price. Our server was very kind and attentive as well as patient as I sometimes have lots of questions lol. Some friends and I visited after a morning hike- there were quite a few people waiting, but we were seated quickly! Service was lovely, so I would give five stars for the waitstaff, but food was not the absolute best on earth- the pancakes look amazing and huge and golden brown, but they had almost zero flavor and were quite tough. Everything else was fairly standard breakfast fair- nothing outstanding, but it got the job done! Maybe we just didn't order the right things. Portions were absolutely amazing, though- I would say overall a great value for money, just maybe steer clear of the pancakes. read more

We were seated right away, even though it was busy, lunchtime service. Not too noisy, I am HOH and dislike overly loud noise. Lots of folks there with families. They're only open for breakfast & lunch. Server was friendly, and attentive. Food was great, very tasty biscuits, great portions, gravy was yummy good too (great customer service by server I thought because they let us know that the gravy was made using sausage) probably thinking we were true vegetarians, nope we're just eat-a-tarians. I had the vegetarian omelet, was in the mood for veggies, it was packed with them, home fried potatoes tasty too, seasoned great, were crunchy. Coffee strong and tasty. Freshly squeezed juice lovers rejoice I saw the hand juicer they use. Lovely Cali Surfer decor with lots of quirky/cute signs scattered about, conversation starters, a fabulous hidden gem of a Mom and Pop Diner. This is for all of the out-of-towner's such as myself the Jen's store front might be easily missed because it's directly to your right when you turn the corner (using cell GPS directions) Jen''s has two large handicap parking spaces in front, (no offense to ADA crowd, I have my own placard) so Jen's can easily be blocked from sight so that you might pass it (we did). But hey it's easy to back track (we're not quitters we're vacationer's)! Note to Jen's : I'm no marketing genius just a busy body but maybe a little bolder larger colorful signage for the cafe and some flags somewhere out front to catch the eye over the RV's lot next door. Food wasn't bad, pancakes are boring. I had been told it was the best ever but I disagree, still really good though. Waiter was good. The place itself is cool, the brick and wood interior is unique. I'd go back, but only a couple times a year and not worth the 30 minute wait. read more

For quite some time I've been seeking the perfect Reuben sandwich in the Quad Cities area-- well, make that the United States! When I saw one on Jen's menu, I ditched my plan to have breakfast (for which she is famous). I asked the waitress how much corned beef was on it and she indicated "a lot." I told her to give me HALF of that-- I like a balance of meat, dressing, Swiss cheese, and (most important) sauerkraut. The search is over. That was the best Reuben sandwich I'd ever had. And? Went to Dewey, AZ for Thanksgiving weekend to spend time with family. My aunt suggested this cafe & that it was her favorite café. The wife & I decided to check it out for ourselves. Upon arrival there was a line as expected but saw there was room at counter so we took advantage if that instead of a booth & a longer wait time. Waitress was friendly & immediately took our drink order. Shortly thereafter we ordered the Chorizo & eggs & the Chicken Fried Steak w/eggs plate. This place gives a generous serving so be hungry when you come here. I finished mist of my meal & the wife could only eat half of hers. The food tasted great! Service was great & basically had to roll ourselves out of here we were so stuffed. Hey, after Thanksgiving day this was a big feat! Ok, so if you haven't been here do yourself a favor visit & enjoy! Everybody who lives in Prescott Valley knows how bad the water is, taste-wise. I've had both good and bad experiences with asking for a glass of water in restaurants. Most restaurants use a filter for their tap water, but many fail to change it regularly, as seen at Jen's. I know that some restaurants don't care about the taste of their water, hoping that you will order a drink item off their menu. And that is what I did. I ordered a cup of coffee. Most people who have coffee with their meal will drink a cup and maybe even a second cup. I feel that with your meal, coffee should be a lower price than those who come in and sit at the counter and order just coffee. $3.50 for coffee is ridiculous, especially when your average breakfast on a menu is $16.00. On to the next item. I was happy with the French Toast Breakfast I ordered. My wife, on the other hand, ordered the Breakfast Sandwich. She wanted salsa to come with it. She has salsa with all breakfast sandwiches as well as with all Mexican food, and has become almost an authority when it comes to salsas. She was not happy with Jen's salsa. For those who order an item that salsa is also wanted, I would recommend that you sample the salsa first, not only at Jen's but any other restaurant. Secondly, the hash browns were flat, with no seasoning whatsoever. Going back again, I would see what the up-charge is for adding onions, peppers, and diced ham. One of Jen's breakfasts has this as one of their menu items. Don't like being picky, as I know Jen's comes well recommended. And for that reason I did not give only a one or two star. read more
