Was hungry last night and decided to try this place for some roll tacos. The fresh roll tacos were crispy and the meat inside was nice and tender. The guacamole was creamy with little chunks of avocado and had a great taste with a kick to it but, wasn't too spicy. Mmm writing about this is making me hungry. we're from CA where we had lots of excellent Mexican restaurants and Alfonso's has the best breakfast burritos in town. they are super generous with their portions and the guy who works the cash register is always wonderful. the young gal at the cash register is always rude but that's o.k. we just try to show her kindness anyway. read more

If you get a crane asada burrito where the steak is cooked fresh, it would be one of the best burritos on the planet. Alas, they make it in batches so the meat becomes rubbery and loses all the spices. So I stay away from would be a favorite. The guacamole can be iffy as well. It's often a little watery In fact, sometimes I think it's been watered down. It soaks the rolled tacos when it's watery. So if you stay away from carne asada and guac, everything else is outstanding. I wish they would add another cook and make that crane asada fresh. I bet they would sell enough burritos to justify the labor. read more

We stumbled upon this place while visiting Prescott. My kids wanted some good authentic Mexican food and we don't like southwestern Mexican food. This was very authentic, and reminded us of the restaurants in California that we love. The chimichangas are delicious and so was the Carne Asada and the chorizo plate. Definitely not a fancy place, but the service was good. read more

The beans are fresh and home made, delicious. The carne is great. We get tacos and they are also very good. We live in the neighborhood, and go to Trader Joe's quite often, but continually bypassed this place. Wish we had started going in there sooner. The people working there are also very pleasant. I highly recommend this place. Only wish they were open on Sunday. read more

We thought we would try this place since it was near us but only had a couple reviews. Machaca burrito was bland except for the few carmalized onions in it. The Chili Relleno was worse, instead of a nice relleno sauce it simply had enchilada sauce that tasted like the usual canned supermarket stuff. My wife's chimichanga was over fried and she said it tasted bland. The fountain drinks tasted watered down. This is seriously some of the best Mexican Food hands down. This place is a nugget nestled in a small shopping strip. My husband wanted to go out and have a couple of drinks and I just wanted to go back to the hotel. I literally walked in about 15mins from closing and the smell instantly reminded me of home (Abuelita's) and all of a sudden my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I wanted to be quick as to not hold the employees up but they were beyond gracious allowing me not to rush. Now let's talk food: AUTHENTIC and so delicious. (We had the Steak Rancheros, Beef Taco Combo and a Tamale) I live in Phoenix and nothing compares to this place. I would definitely make the over an hour drive to taste this yummy goodness again. This use to be my favorite place to go because the prices was right. Tonight my wife and I ordered our usual and the price was $6 more than normal. I will most likely not go back if they keep raising prices. Over the last 4 years burritos have gone from $4.95 to $7.95 and they even made them smaller. Good food but not for the price. read more

I am visiting Prescott and staying at a nearby hotel, so I called to place an order because it said that they delivered, well they don't..... Since they were close by I decided to go in a place an order thinking I had an hour before it closed. When I got to the restaurant it was 7:00pm and even though the restaurant schedule said it closed at 8:00pm and nowhere else did it mention that they had adjusted the schedule to COVID, which is understandable, they were closed. The reason for the review was not to point out the glaring discrepancies but as we were looking at our options another family tried to enter the restaurant making the same comments that it was only 7:00 the staff inside were laughing as though it was a joke that they were closed. We have eaten here on average twice a week since they reopened, always enjoying the food. Today I went in 4:45 standing in line as usual with 1 person in front of me and 1 behind. After taking the order of the 1st person, a few orders for pickup were handed out. No problem so far but then she started preparing and sorting a few more take out orders with no one ready to pick them up, completely ignoring both me and the lady behind me. Meanwhile the cook was waiting for something to prepare. It would have taken what 3 minutes to take both of our orders? Finally she came to take my order but by then I lost all desire to eat there today and in the future. Perhaps it would be better to service the customers in front of you? I'm really sorry this happened but there are plenty of other Mexican restaurants close by that deserve our business more than this one. Sad. read more

One of our favorite Mexican food places to eat. They have great breakfast burritos and their other food is just as amazing. We are so glad they are across the street from us now. They have one in Prescott Valley as well which we used to eat at all the time. They have one in Prescott also but we didn't like that one as much. This one is just as good as Prescott Valley. We are from San Diego California living in Prescott and finally found a good Mexican food taco shop place. We ordered a California burrito and rolled tacos with rice and beans. The beans were excellent and rice was great. Rolled tacos with the guacamole and cheese are good.. They hook it up with a lot of carne Asada in the burrito, it has great flavor... would for sure recommend this place to anyone who likes good Mexican food. Prices were also fair!
