Came here with my brother! He recommended it. Waitress was very nice and friendly. We order and they brought out the wrong food. So we had to wait a little longer. I'm giving a 3 star because of the wait and wrong food. If they would have done it right the first time I would have given 4 stars! The food was delicious but not to happy with the mistake. This spot has an awesome outdoor dining area. Can't beat the $3 margaritas. I had a veggie burrito smothered in red sauce (bell pepper, onions, zucchini, tomato) it was super yummy. The outdoor dining area is impressive. My honey enjoyed his chicken tacos (very flavorful) and carnitas enchilada. The servers were friendly and accommodating. read more

Love the food and the waitresses have always been kind and attentive. definitely one of my go to places when in Modesto! my favorite so far are the carne asada enchiladas! Very popular place in the evenings and on the weekends so get there early to try and avoid the busy hours. read more

I have stopped going to dos compadres because of the lack of consistency of the food . I went yesterday hoping for the better . The only thing I enjoyed was the waitress and my Cadillac margarita ! I had the torta de carne asada and it was the server was amazing. And the over all atmosphere felt amazing.

Stellar!!! Had one of the best grilled chicken burritos I've ever had! The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly! My hubby had a combo molcajete which he said was amazing and we are driving up again this week and will be back!! We each had a delicious cocktail! The hostess & bartender were super nice! Ordinarily I love the food. However, the food I ordered today was the worst I've ever had here. The orders were incorrect and the food tasted terrible I feel like I got my order from a different restaurant. I tried to call and talk to a manager and basically got blown off saying there was no manager in today and I could call back at three. Went in asked for the special and was told their were none. Paid $50 for 6 tacos and rice and beans on taco Tuesday. Geraldo the manager admitted it was the waitresses fault as well as a discrepancy in their menu and that it will be revised. Asked me to return for a refund which was an embarrassing $6, yelp reviews are more costly to remove , guess they don't care. This was one of my favorite Mexican restaurants until the price increases. I understand raising prices to survive but $4 increase for some dishes with most dishes increased by $2 is a little much. My daughter ordered the Tortilla Soup that was more like "Tortilla SLOP" it tasted like RANCID OIL with a hint of Chipotle. I ordered the pick 2 Combo with a Chile Relleno and Crispy Beef Taco. It's like they were serving me LEFTOVERS from the night before everything MICROWAVED except taco which was crispy and Chewy. I ordered a Fajita Steak for pickup and they didn't put the torillia in with the order. I got all the way and was very disappointed. The menu says it includes tortillas. Went for lunch today but when in restroom to wash hands and soap dispenser was broken and looked like it was for awhile. Wheres employees wash hands? No temp soap dispenser, nothing. I asked the server about it and looked at me like I asked him how to build the space shuttle. Just girls a bad feeling about it so I left just didn't feel good about it. First time here on the recommendation of my brother. I have to say i am incredibly impressed with the incredibly fast and courteous service from all the staff. My drinks were delicious not to even mention the food which really tasted like home cooking. The ambiance is very traditional with a corner labeled cantina with bar stool seating. This is a great place to come by and really enjoy a good meal or duck away from the heat outside with a very good Margarita. A deep gratitude to the staff for making my first visit a very memorable one. read more

This place is very new; like just opened last Thursday new. I really enjoyed it. Very nice open style restaurant and an appealing Cantina;)). I had the House Enchilada with rice and beans, of course. This entree was very tasty and different because the enchiladas were topped with a spicy chipotle sauce and yummy slices of avocado. Very good! Growing up in Modesto, this place also brought back many memories because it used to be a pizza parlor way back in the day called Shakey's Pizza, which was a staple for my family and I. Great times!!
