Went to Taqueria Doña Julia in Lynn for a quick bite. Food was good. Tacos were very good and authentic. Would have liked to be able to add to it, but they don't really have a menu. Menu is written in chalk on a board and not super helpful. Ordered a cheese pupusa, too. Pupusa was meh. I've definitely had better. I would probably never order a pupusa from here again. Horchata was very good. My one complaint is the music. It was so loud, you could barely hear anyone; including the server. So I really couldn't have any kind of conversation with my friend. I've now had food from Dona Julia twice. My first experience was takeout and the food was good but not memorable. I had ordered enchiladas mole and it was just okay, honestly the sauce didn't taste homemade. I also remember that there was some confusion when they took down my order, but I get this since I speak essentially no Spanish. In any case, I was looking for a spot to grab tacos with my daughter yesterday and quickly set my GPS to Dona Julia not remembering my first experience. When I walked in, however, I immediately recalled that this was the spot I had taken out from. I figured I would give them a second chance and decided to try something else. I ordered a torta and 2 tacos (pastor and steak). It was all amazing - so much so that I ordered a third taco (chorizo), which was also really good. The food is amazing! I have been meaning to come by as they had signs up for a while. I ordered pork tacos and chicken torta. As I waited, I got free chips and salsa and got the Casita Margarita. OMG it knocked me off my feet! I also tried the Cadillac Margarita and it was so yummy! Food came quickly and oh so much flavor! They also brought authentic salsas in addition to what was at the table. I feel as if I've been awakened to new tastes and flavors - Mexico is now at our door! Great customer service from the wait staff, friendly and accommodating. Nice decor, full bar, nice Mexican music in the background. I'll be here as a regular. read more

Best tacos I've had in Massachusetts! I'm from California where tacos are a way of life.

I have eaten here over a half dozen times. if you want authentic Mexican food this is the place in downtown Lynn. My favorite was the Loco Burrito after a couple visits until one night I went with my wife and daughter and my wife ordered the Camarones a la Plancha loved it and let me try it, two days later I ordered it and again it was outstanding. A couple days later on a return visit I ordered the Camarones Mexicanos and all I can say is that I'm craving it as I write this because it was the best Mexican meal I have had there yet. Order out of the online menu and presentation was horrible. We order the Carnaza 3x order that online stated came with shrimp,steak and chicken tacos, we only received 3 steak tacos. We also ordered 1 al pastor taco and it came inside of the carnaza tacos plate so when we opened up the plate it was al mixed pork with steak. When calling to complain they said the carnaza is only steak tacos and we had to state that we wanted the combo, meanwhile in the menu it doesn't say combo. We have had takeout from here twice and it is great. We love our Mexican food and this is the new spot! The Beef chimichanga and Plato Don Jose are our favorites but looking forward to trying more. read more

THE MANAGER TRIEDDDDD ITTTT!!!! The food in this place is sooo good but the service SUCKS. I came in with my friend we decided to come here instead of the normal place we go to. Let's just start like this, so I'm allergic to onions right and specifically told the waitress this and asked for none on my sandwich. Of course it came with onions. So I tell her this and instead of her being apologetic she says "oh my bad" shrugs and walks always to order me a new one. But the time my food cane my friends food was done, I ask for guacamole and sour cream thinking they came with the tacos my friend ordered after the menus were taken away. And instead of the waitress letting me know it's extra she just gave them to me. We get the check and it was an extra 6$ dollars on our tab for the guacamole and sour cream if you seen the size of that 4$ guacamole you would laugh lol. But if she states it was 4$ I would of never ordered it because of the size. After messing up my order that's the least you can do. She then takes it off the check and the MANAGER decided to come to tell me I had to pay for it AFTER I PAID ALREADY. I had to let him know 3 things.. 1. Not authentic Mexican food. The menudo was colorless, no flavor and very salty. Asked for chilaquiles and I was given tortillas bathed in plain tomato sauce. If you're not Mexican and open a Mexican restaurant you should at least do your research on authentic Mexican food. I'm tired of seeing these restaurants try and do business with our food but have no idea what they're cooking. read more
