Me and my friends were actually at Avant Garden for a poetry slam (Every Wednesday night) and we saw this taco truck posted right outside the venue and decided to give it a try! I got the ground beef tacos - although I definitely meant to get the asada - and they were delicious! My friends got chicken tacos and they said they were a little spicy, but they enjoyed them too. Each taco was about $3 (shrimp is $4) and they had an assortment of chips and drinks as well (chips were $1 and drinks were $3). I got the lime hot Cheetos with a mango drink, which went perfectly with my tacos! Great food for a great price, I definitely recommend b

Taqueria El Palomo makes the best tacos I ever have had! I've been to multiple states even different parts of Louisiana, Texas, and California. Of course my taco journey will forever continue but do not sleep on this taco truck! My family and I ordered carnitas, campechano, chicharron, and huitlacoche tacos. The tacos were so good, that I ended up ordering a delicious pastor quesadilla afterwards because we needed more! The tacos and quesadilla came out so hot, we all did the chewing motion where you let exhale fire out just to eat the food. It was so good I was willing to eat it at scorching temperatures! The chef keeps bottles of fresh salsas to add to your food and you can never go wrong with their salsa verde. Overall, I would definitely bring my entire family and close friends to grab tacos from here. I am already thinking about when I am coming back when I am in town. Need more convincing? Let's taco bout it!

CASH ONLY! In the Avant Garden parking lot, I think they have an ATM but not 100% sure. Was at Avant Garden on Wednesday for Poetry Open Mic/Slam. Shameless plug. Y'all should really check it out cause it's such a cool event. Convenient to grab a quick bite and bring inside to continue to enjoy the show. I got one PASTOR TACO and one CARNITAS TACO. They were $2 each but they were bigger than I expected! I used to paying like $1.50-$1.75 a taco at other stands but they're a little smaller. There was plenty of meat and the flavors were good. I was satifised with my two but I could have eaten more. The sauces weren't laid out so I had to ask for them. Neither of them was spicy in my opinion. I wish they had little containers you could put the sauce in. I see myself frequenting Avant Garden often so this is my new go-to place when I'm there.

    It's must kind of experience

Great tacos. Enjoy drinks and atmosphere at Avant and let the tacos be the icing on the cake . Wednesday and Thursdays are great nights

BEST tacos in Houston!! --This coming from a legit Mexican. Seriously, Pablo (the cook) and his wife are amazing. They make the most delicious food ever for a super cheap price. It's like $2 a big taco! My boyfriend and I trust them so much that we just order 4 tacos of whatever they want and we're never disappointed. I must say their tacos de chicharron are from another world. He prepares them right when you order so they're not soggy. The GREEN salsa is the hottest, spiciest salsa ever! If you're like me and love a good kick, then you'll enjoy this. It has made me cry, jump, and laugh, so be careful. They have Jumex juices too! The mango flavor is my favorite. They also have the soda version of Sangria which is simply delicious. Also, this is the only place where I've found good huitlacoche, they put it in quesadillas and it is yummy. What is huitlacoche, you ask? And how to you pronounce it? It's corn fungus and it's pronounced weet-lah-KOH-chay, so if you're feeling adventurous, give it a try. Don't judge it's taste by how it looks... I'll keep recommending this place to all my friends, it truly is amazing. Plus, the location is perfect too. Avant Garden is one step away, so you can always enjoy your yummy tacos there as well as any show they might have going on.

So heads up! NOT CLOSED . Food truck outside Avant Garden. This food truck is open only when Avant Garden is open for the night. That's the 4 stars. But anyways, great tacos! Real Mexican tacos, idk if that sounds bad but you know what I mean, it's real lol. Authentic. Only $2 per taco so you can't beat that. Good food, good price. Period.

This taco truck has the BEST tacos that I've had from a food truck. I ordered a chicken taco, al pastor taco, and a chicken quesadilla. All of them were very tasty! The meat was hot and juicy and they don't skimp on the meat portions. I waited less than 10 min for my order which was no problem because of how good everything tasted. I will definitely be back for more!

I happened on this place while waiting at the ridiculous line at Melange Creperie. It's literally right next door to Mango's in the parking lot at Sorrento's. This taco joint is great...especially if you like spicy. Get the Taco Carne Enchilada or Chicken Mole. And only $2 for a decent sized taco. Fresh salsa and cucumbers on the side. If anyone knows the owner, tell them to contact me so I can add them to houstonfoodtrucks[dot]com

The best quesadillas in the city, hands down. Decent heat on the green sauce, great service, and authenticity.

I had just been chatting…read morewith Gretel about breakfast tacos the day we landed in Houston -- and breakfast tacos are one of my favourite things about visiting Texas. We pulled up to this food truck and, while placing our order, I instantly had the feeling that this crew knew exactly what they were doing. That impression proved to be spot on as soon as I took my first bite. The tacos were fresh, flavorful, and packed with the kind of simple, honest ingredients that make great breakfast tacos so satisfying. No gimmicks, no unnecessary fuss -- just well-executed food that delivers exactly what you're hoping for. The service was efficient, the operation ran smoothly, and it was easy to see why there was a steady stream of customers. Overall, an excellent breakfast taco stop and exactly the kind of local experience I look for when I'm in Houston. Saluti.

Luckily, this spot takes both card and cash! I got the small beef quesadilla, and it was loaded with cheese. The small quesadilla was $5.50, and it was pretty decently sized for a small. They have salsa set out at the counter, so you can pack as much as you like. The red salsa was smoky and SPICY. Very tasty if you like spice I see a lot of great reviews about this place. I would like to try their other tacos and give a more detailed review. I will be back! but for sure the quesadilla was a hit for me

I swear the Bulgogi Fries were screaming my name, though. Yoyo's Hotdog - Yoyo--YO. This thing slaps. I definitely craved a Coke or a beer while eating this because that salt kicks your taste buds' *ss. The caramelized onions paired with the crunchy onions were a double whammy that could topple a few hot dog title holders. The real winner, though, was the sauce--definitely something Asian-inspired. But hey, I'm running on five hours of sleep, and that's the best my smooth brain could come up with to describe the experience. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

I got their famous hotdog with spicy mayo, french onion, sautéed onions, and hot sauce. (That's how it comes standard) don't get me wrong it's definitely a lot going on from the flavors and the messiness of the dog, but the flavors balance out very well and the all beef hot dog is delicious. There's no spice from the mayo or hot sauce so if you don't like spice you'll be fine. I also tried their bulgogi fries which came with bulgogi meat, jalepenos, cheese and cilantro.
