It's always taco time so I wanted to give this place a try. Decided to stick to corn tortillas since they make them on site (but still a fan of flour tortillas). Wound up ordering a birria quesadilla and 3 Al pastor tacos. All with corn tortillas but they charge you $2 extra for corn tortilla on the quesadilla but they didn't charge for the consume which was good. The corn tortilla for the quesadilla was a bit thick for my preference but I think that's the only way to keep all the meat inside and not break. I suggest getting the flour tortilla on quesadillas. But, the birria meat and consume were really good. And, you get a lot of meat in a quesadilla. It's big enough for 2 people. Al pastor was good too. Still need to try the carne asada. They charge 2% fee for credit cards so bring cash unless you ordered online. No parking except street parking which can suck around dinner time as they get busy. They also have few seats inside so you see people order ahead (online or phone) and double park to pick up. And, it's best if you speak some Spanish to communicate. Having said all this, perhaps a 3.5 is my rating. read more

Ordered the carne asada mulita and it was incredible. Homemade tortillas, super flavorful carne asada, and the cheese was delicious. Portion size was HUGE and totally worth it. Seating is outside, perfect for a nice day. Oscar and the team are amazing -- they genuinely treat you like family and make the experience even better. You can feel the love they put into the food. The quesadilla de asada was just okay. The cashier told me it was amazing but I did not think it was, especially for the price I paid. Other than that, the workers were all really friendly, they even gave me a big cup of water and our food was ready really fast. Also there was minimal places to sit so keep that in mind. Probably best to take the food to go. In my very humble opinion, most of the Tijuana style Mexican food i have tried this side of the border is not that good. It tastes a lot better if you just go to TJ, that is all I'm saying. read more

It was a sister taco night! We went on a last minute idea, and all had thee best taco date. We had a quesadilla, tacos, quesatacos, and a vampiro. Plus 2 aguas frescas Pro tip! Ask for your meal with the red salsa on the side because it's so SPICY! We were fighting for our lives after lol The green salsa is good and tangy tho! I would ask for the red salsa on the side and the guac since it's layered on heavily. And while we love it! We may not ALL love a HEAPING spoonful. We got a mix of carne asada and al pastor and they were both so good. I'm an Al pastor girl tho so I'll always go with that choice. Quesadilla: HUGE! A lot of cheese, didn't break due to too much salsa which is not common. Quesatacos: BOMB & STUFFED. Eat quick tho because those do break if you let them sit Vampiro? TOASTY AF & packed w meat and cheese and salsa. So good Tacos? YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG. Agua de Jamaica was refreshing, agua de pepino con limon & chia? Ehhh, unfortunately had no flavor & wasn't sweet, it was just ice and a touch of lime. Sorry! Thank you Samantha for also making great recommendations too. The food is great but the customer service needs to improve. I made an order thru the phone so I won't have to wait that long. I get there 30 mins later and they had barely started doing my order had to wait another 10 mins (fyi I was the only one there). Another thing I notice was the flies that were around the veggies they were cutting cucumbers and they were a lot of flies around there just an observation i saw. The ambiance is really nice just limited tho. Update: just finish eating and the meat looks like it was from yesterday (recalentada). My sister in law got few tacos and 5 mins later she threw up. Food quality needs to be checked out/ improve. Meat taste and look dry. I don't want to be mean or anything I just want this place to do better and improve :). read more

Food is good and the service is always nice. Fresh tortillas, and guacamole. Watch out with that red salsa. It packs a punch but it's delicious. Just be mindful of the time of day you go. This location is not in the best neighborhood. So, be cautious when visiting in the evenings. read more

Friendly service , I didn't feel rushed to order and was offered samples of their Agua Fresca ! The food came out nice and hot and was so good ! These are super fire tacos and burritos. Estilo Tijuana is a guarantee and this place does not disappoint. Their smashed avocado is fresh and not watery and their beans and rice are flavorful. Their veggie burrito is spicy but pretty epic. Parking can be a challenge but try to head out with a partner to make this part easier. My go-to spot for TJ style tacos al-carbon(charcoal grilled). That Smokey grilled smell & taste *daddy Taste is there 5 stars, my only quarrels are with how the meat is sometimes trimmed for grilling. Kind chewy sometimes, not sure if its not trimmed or poor quality cuts. Other than that, salsa is spicy and the guacamole for topping taste like magic. Service is what it is. I always phone my order ahead as I have had some issues ordering through delivery apps/online. Area is super sketchy it is in Compton. Parking can suck, there have been times I have to park around the corner on weekend afternoons. Pro-Tip: Get the hand-made corn Quesadilla if you have already tried the Tacos. read more

Decided to try it today after seeing pictures of the it and to my surprise, it wasn't as good as it looked. The servings are good as they give you enough meat and guacamole. The handmade tortillas are a nice touch as well. Flavor-wise, there isn't much. Growing up minutes from the Tijuana border, a good taco wasn't too hard to find. Tacos is my life! My wife heard about this place and we decided to give it a try. I had high expectations due to their claim of their tacos being Tijuana style. I have been to Tijuana often and love Tijuana's Tacos. I ordered two al pastor and two asada tacos, I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at my tacos and saw that the tortilla looked hand made! I tried the al pastor tacos first and they were really lacking flavor, I couldn't appreciate the marinade that is typical of good al pastor tacos... they were not awfully bad but they were not good either. Next I tried their asada tacos and they were good not as good as I expected but good. The asada was flavorful, grilled on charcoal grill however One of the important things in my honest and humble opinion is the following... If your taco is not paired with a great salsa, the taco falls apart, it becomes average. Maybe if they come up with a better pair of salsas (one red, one green) it would probably be worth to come back and pay over two dollars a taco to give it another try. read more
