Another Eat the World LA Find That Delivered Weekday workday, only an hour for lunch, and I was craving soup -- so I decided to try another Eat the World LA find: CH Y La Birria in Compton. As usual, it did not disappoint! Since I don't normally make my way to this side of town unless I'm working, I've been making a point to explore restaurants near work. I ordered the Birria Ramen online, and pickup was super easy. My order was ready promptly and ahead of schedule. The staff was friendly and even gave me a helpful tip: ordering over the phone is actually cheaper than ordering online. Definitely good to know for next time! I brought my ramen back to work and enjoyed it there. They also offered chips, which ended up being the perfect addition. I used them to scoop up the birria and consommé first, then went back to the ramen. The 16 oz serving was generous enough that I even had leftovers for lunch the next day. Had to come try this spot out in my city, Compton. The food was delicious !!! And the prices on the 5 Birria tacos is a straight deal. Great service both visits. And great vibes during both visits. On Tuesday night, 11-11, I had the quesabirria which was good. Enough quantity. This past Tuesday, 11-18, I had to go back. It was Taco Tuesday lol. Mannn... the birria tacos blew me away. Couldn't stop dipping and couldn't stop eating lol. Take that back, I ate 3 first then came back for the last 2 about 30 mins later maybe lol. Talmbout quality and quantity. LAZY AND RUDE I guess 7:43pm means 8pm. They are supposed to close at 8pm. I get there at 7:43pm Sunday and one door is locked. The employee at the door does the hand sign that they are closed. I point to my wrist saying it's not time. He just ignores me and looks at me as if I am doing something wrong. No look or signal of apology. He just proceeds to lock up. I can't see how they have such a good rating with such a crappy attitude. read more

'm usually not a fan of tacos dorados de birria because a lot of places make them way too greasy and heavy, but these were completely different. The meat was super tender, juicy, and packed with flavor without feeling overly fatty. The tortillas had the perfect crunch and held everything together really well. You can tell they put quality into the meat and preparation. Definitely the best birria tacos I've had. The customer service was also on point. The music was good, the horchata was ice cold. OK, here you go! This is another fantastic find I lucked up on this one. I was looking around to try a new place for taco Tuesdays and I happen to come up on this place in the hood , because y'all know some of the best food is in the hood well it's kind of off the beaten path driving by you wouldn't really even notice or see it and it sits right on the corner of a little strip mall so I go in there and I go hey do you have a taco Tuesday special in the pleasant lady encounter yes it's buy one get one so I proceeded to buy the Birria tacos and I gave my order I go to the car. I get home open the box and they were kind of medium to regular size tacos not too big not too small but man old man I wish I had ordered a box of those things. They were so good they were the best I've ever had. I have reviewed other Taco restaurants in the inland empire that I go to that I literally drive two hours to go get those top as well. This place is on par with that. The Beria tacos were outstanding and I will be back there every Tuesday that I am in town. Do yourself a favor and go check this place out. You will not be disappointed. The service was good. The food was excellent and you just felt welcome. It's just delicious! They don't have a lot if menu potions and based on my return experience they don't need it. You come expecting tasty birria and that's exactly what you are going to get. We went on a Tuesday morning and as soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted by a " good morning" my first impression was a good one since the tables for sitting were a limited. After reviewing the menu and making our selections we sat down and waited for our food I ordered the "birria plato" (birria plate) I ordered it with both cilantro and onion and was given both lemons and an oil chili sauce. The birria was very good it was beef it was tender and I'd definitely be back again. The chili oil I n my opinion it was just what the birria needed, it gave it a little kick . I also ordered the horchata and it was delicious it tasted home made and not from a powder mix. While there they had a tv that was playing loud music, it was very hard (after it was turned on) to hold a conversation and felt sort of rushed to leave since we couldn't talk with out speaking rather loudly. Chef Linda at it again I stopped to get my favorite drink Jamaica from CH y La Birra and I decided to get the shredded beef quesadilla. Everything about that quesadilla was delicious. The meat was tender and juicy. I didn't need to dip in the sauce sauce but l wanted to try delicious so l tried the spicy sauce delicious grilled onions were good too.
