    Asada burrito
    AJ M.

Been coming here for quite a few years now. The food and flavors are more welcoming than the location may seem, but I've never had any issues here. I also frequent Rubens across the street and have never had an issue there either. The prices for the food are fair, portions are good, and service is quick. I really do love how flavorful the food is but I do think the quality of many of the ingredients leaves much to be desired. Makes me think twice about coming here but when you're eating the food it does hit. It just makes me feel like when I eat jack in the box and i regret eating it because of the quality. An easy tell is the quality of the rice grain. I saw the other reviews mentioning how greasy the food is and I have to agree, asada burrito was dripping grease down the side of me. Some people love to cliché greasy food as better, and that's fun and all, but when I'm at home at 10pm sitting upright on my bed - sometimes on the toilet - with heartburn and wondering why the hell the burrito was as greasy as it was, it ain't so fun anymore. Tacos are also on the greasy side. I will still give it its flowers for flavor alone, especially compared to a lot of options in Compton, it's a stand out. Even with what I mentioned for ingredient quality, they're probably still better than a lot of Compton options. It's really bleak out here. I'd like to give it a 3.5 if possible but I'll round up to 4 stars earned. I wouldn't say it's a spot worth coming out for - I've seen the TikToks - but if you're local, in the area or maybe 10-15 minutes away, it's a strong contender.

I'll be honest -- I never would've come here if my clients hadn't insisted. They told me, "It's a hole-in-the-wall," and I said, "That's fine, as long as the food's worth it." And wow... it's worth it. This place serves some of the best burritos I've had anywhere in L.A. County. You'd never guess it from the outside -- it's hidden away and totally unassuming -- but that's what makes it special. It's the kind of spot you only find through word of mouth. If you're a fan of Burritos La Palma, you'll probably love this place even more. The burritos here are huge -- easily three or four times the size. Since the restaurant's named after Uruapan, I wanted to try their carnitas, but my client swears by the chile relleno burrito. I couldn't decide, so they topped my chile relleno with carnitas. Best decision ever. It was around $18, but the burrito was massive -- enough for two meals if you have self-control (which I didn't). The tortillas have that soft, stretchy texture like Burritos La Palma, but the flavor combo here is next level. If you're ever near Compton, don't skip this spot. Their carnitas and chile relleno burrito is my new favorite in all of Los Angeles County.

The food here is always always!!! On point and delicious no matter what meat or dish you get you won't be disappointed. Service is great kind of chipotle style set up but delicious selections. They make you feel at home when you hear one of the cook ladies yelling asking you what are you taking so they can warm up your tortillas by hand! Definitely my top three places to get definitely! On my once a week spot

Had a fly in my burrito which was very disguised had to go back to the owner saying it's okay like no it's not okay to eat a fly this place is the most dirty place

Old school authentic food. We had the chicharon, buche, asada and chorizo tacos. The food was bomb!! Something your family would make. I hate when people complain about prices at these small places but are fine with crazy places at higher end establishments. Prices were decent for the amount of meat that was piled into our tacos. We saw them making the burritos and those things are massive. Easily could be three meals. Service was fast...there was a small line when we got there and bigger one when we left. Enough said.

We asked if they had any plant-based or vegan options. They only sold burgers however the lady that helped us was very sweet, polite, and kind. She told what they had and what we could order inside instead. We walked in and the gentleman named Oscar G. cashed us out. He was also very friendly! Very professional and knowledgeable about the menu and non-dairy items. Provided us with what we needed right away, the container for the salsa and brought out fresh ones for me. Very nice guy. The food came out right away. The portions were big in my opinion. The prices were decent, the portion was great, and best of all the service was good. Their self-serve condiments was a PLUS! I've been to a lot of taco spots and these were by far the freshest and crispiest cucumbers, fresh cold salsa, onions and cilantro was also fresh. The food was good and filled us up. It was simple but fulfilling. Will definitely be back and highly recommend it. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seats as well.

I ordered the asada, carnitas, al pastor, tripas, cabeza, and lengua. The asada was tender with a nice grilled flavor, but my favorites were definitely the tripas and cabeza. Both were a little greasy, but in a good way--they had a lot of flavor and were probably the standouts of the meal for me. One thing I liked was the condiment bar. You can load up your tacos with as much onion and cilantro as you want, plus they have radishes and lime wedges available. They also offer two salsas, a red and a green. Both tasted good and had solid flavor, although I was hoping for a little more heat. Overall, it's a solid taco spot, especially on Taco Tuesday. Good variety of meats, reasonable prices, and plenty of toppings to customize your tacos. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area and craving some tacos.

We normally get the carne asada/pollo fries and they're awesome. Fries are cooked perfectly (I swear there was a period of time where they coated the fries and that wasn't it, but thankfully they stopped), comes with the usual toppings like guacamole, onions, cilantro, etc. They top it with a hefty amount of juicy meat - both carne asada and pollo options are solid. The rice and beans + salsa combo are also flavorful and pair nicely with the entree.
