I loved the staff at Stockade Grub and Whiskey! It was a full house and we had a party of 5 but…read morethey did what they could to sit us down as fast as possible. We opted to sit outside and they turned on all of their outdoor heaters for us, even though we're were initially the only ones out there. It was a cold night but the heaters made it comfortable. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries. One of my friends ordered the bacon bbq burger with onion rings. We split these plates so we could both try two different dishes. I accidentally ordered a buffalo sauce instead of the bbq for my nuggets, and I was not a fan of the sauce. It was a dark sauce with too much smokiness to it. My friend ordered a side of bbq and that one was much better. The tenders are crispy and pair well with their bbq sauce or their ranch. The burger was also tasty. Fries were okay and I did not like their onion rings. They had a different taste to them. I couldn't put my finger on the flavor but it wasn't good in my opinion. My other friend ordered mozzarella sticks, and they were not good. No cheese pull, and it honestly tasted like moderately fried string cheese. The food took a really long time to come out. I know they were busy, but once the food came, we inhaled it because of how hungry we were. The vibes there are excellent though. We really enjoyed the music and the staff were fantastic. I still recommend making a pit stop here if you're ever in the Crestline area.

This salad I got was better than expected. Haven't ever ordered anything there I haven't liked.read more

Updated: I've now ordered their chili cheese dog three times…read morein the last week. Obviously, it tastes good. Its appearance just surprised me and my original review was unfairly driven by pregnancy hormones. I love this place. First off, this rating in a standalone incident. Normally, I'd easily rate Mountain Cravings a 4.5/5. But tonight I ordered a chili cheese dog and please see the picture for reference. It's like an alien came to Earth for the first time and tried its best to decipher what a chili cheese hotdog is and that's what I got. It tasted... fine? Good enough? However, if you're pregnant and you are craaaving a chili cheese hot dog on a cold and rainy day, please brace yourself to not get an actual chili cheese hotdog. You will get a hot dog with some pinto beans, a small slather of chili (?), some cheese, and lots of onions. Maybe a few cilantro pieces included. Anyway, other than this, Mountain Cravings is one of THE best places to grab food. They have THE best fish and chips. I'm just so sad about my chili cheese hotdog experience.

Saved my appetite for this!…read more Super glad I did! Mountain Cravings was on my list to hit. The reviews did not lead me astray lol The menu is huge!! I wasn't prepared for that hahaha I was able to find a few things that were vegetarian friendly. My mom wanted nachos, and I wanted a cheese quesadilla. My dad was craving a burger. They had all of those. It was the perfect stop. There was some sort of street fair going on, so we grabbed our food and walked around the little town. Service was good. The restaurant isn't very big. They sure do whip up some good grub though! I can see why they have good reviews. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the mountain. Next time I go up, I will come back here.

Arrived with a party of 4 and there was a short wait to get seated. There's about a total of 12 or so tables but it was moving at a decent pace. Unfortunately things went south from there. Got seated and the waiters were pretty fast and attentive. I had an early breakfast so decided to go with the lunch Patty Melt as it was a restaurant house specialty. Friends ordered the BBQ sandwich and Ragin Cajun. It took almost 30+ minutes for the food to come out and most of the meats came out very dried for some reason. The fries were fabulous though. Decor is very mountain diner-esque but clean and comfy. Maybe what we ordered was not exactly their specialty as I saw lots of people eating breakfast. But the lunch menu was just not it on Sunday sadly. Was so hungry from the long wait that I even forgot to take photos of my food.
