Stockade Grub & Whiskey has quickly become one of my favorite places in Crestline. The moment you walk in, the vibe feels warm, rustic, and welcoming. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and really makes you feel like part of the community. The food is consistently great, but my absolute favorite is the brisket -- perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor every single time. And if you come on the weekend, the live band takes the whole experience to another level. Great music, great food, great people... it's the perfect combo. I loved the staff at Stockade Grub and Whiskey! It was a full house and we had a party of 5 but they did what they could to sit us down as fast as possible. We opted to sit outside and they turned on all of their outdoor heaters for us, even though we're were initially the only ones out there. It was a cold night but the heaters made it comfortable. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries. One of my friends ordered the bacon bbq burger with onion rings. We split these plates so we could both try two different dishes. I accidentally ordered a buffalo sauce instead of the bbq for my nuggets, and I was not a fan of the sauce. It was a dark sauce with too much smokiness to it. My friend ordered a side of bbq and that one was much better. The tenders are crispy and pair well with their bbq sauce or their ranch. The burger was also tasty. Fries were okay and I did not like their onion rings. They had a different taste to them. I couldn't put my finger on the flavor but it wasn't good in my opinion. My other friend ordered mozzarella sticks, and they were not good. No cheese pull, and it honestly tasted like moderately fried string cheese. The food took a really long time to come out. I know they were busy, but once the food came, we inhaled it because of how hungry we were. The vibes there are excellent though. We really enjoyed the music and the staff were fantastic. I still recommend making a pit stop here if you're ever in the Crestline area. read more

This place was located right outside the Crestline Thousand Pines Disc Golf Course and I'll tell you what, it was a vibe. Inside has this old honky tonk vibe to it. The food was pretty good. I sampled my buddies buffalo wings. Very crispy and very meaty. My steak salad was delicious. Honestly, no dressing needed. Steak was cool beautifully and the arugula has a nice peppery taste to it. Our friend's band was playing so of course we went to support! Raptors headlines and that's our friend's band. This place is so awesome, never been or even heard of it before. It was raining and foggy we found handicap parking across the lot which was perfect. They have seating areas near the bar and a pool table and so many $1 bills everywhere. I loved the decor and ambiance inside. They food was actually really good. There was more of our friend's kids we met up with here and so they all ordered chicken tenders again and fries lol. Baby girl wanted the garlic cheese bread that was delicious, and we shared the patty melt which was so good, the cheese was perfectly melted, the onions were cooked to perfection the bread was light and crispy with a side of fries the fries were pretty good too. I also got a Shirley temple yum lol! We had such a great time, all the bands that played were awesome but our friends that headlines tonight the Raptors were the best. They did an excellent job and had the crowd going. Baby girl got bored cause her two gfs left early but then we ended up playing this ping pong game for fun and the kids had a blast playing that. Everyone had good vibes and had a great time and amazing music. We really enjoyed the food and the employees were all so friendly too. The band played outside but they had a cover so it was ok we didn't get too wet since it was raining a bit lol. This place is within driving (walking?) distance of Lake Gregory, and it's totally a tourist-spot. The decor was amazing, you almost feel like you're in the Wild Wild West, the workers are all courteous and friendly. Ok. So this was a total scouting trip. I hadn't been to Crestline in years. But I saw the Stockade puts on occasional punk rock shows so I thought a drive up the mountains was totally worth it to see if it belongs in the venue rotation....and get lunch while we're there. Located on the main drag, The Stockade is surprisingly easy to miss. And there isn't much as far as parking so be prepared if you go. I walked in with the kiddo and my first thought is "where is anyone playing?" The bar is in front with a small dining area. This is not a large space by any stretch. We were seated quickly, got our menus and a pitcher of water. Much like the inside, the menu is small. Burgers, appetizers and BBQ. We got mozzarella sticks, the kiddo a bacon cheeseburger and a chili burger for me. The food was really good. I thought the sticks were burned but they were not. They were delicious. And the garlic on top of the marinara was a nice touch. The burgers were large and tasty. Our server, Donna, was running by herself and she was incredible. Hustling from table to bar to even outside (more on that). She was chatting everyone up and was very helpful and patient with my many questions about shows being held there. Outside! There is a small patio with a stage area. Donna let us know the capacity is 130 and tables are moved out to make 150 for bigger acts. Needless to say that makes for intimate shows so I got tickets for Ignite/Death by Stereo on 9/9/23. I didn't want to miss out! The Stockade is a cool place with a lot of charm and good food. If you can tolerate the high and windy drive, it's worth your time. Highly recommend! read more

I enjoyed my food so much I forgot to take a picture. Also, apparently after 4PM they serve a BBQ menu. The aesthetic gave dark dive bar. It was a bit rundown and dirty, some flies swirling around.
