Here in Aurora looking for good Mexican food. We ended up at Taqueria El Tio and sat down at a booth. Menus were brought out and I went with cheese enchiladas, while my wife got nachos. I had a few chips with salsa before hand. The salsa was more watery than I preferred. The enchiladas came and I began to dig in. They were alright and the flavors got better as I went on to eat more. The refried beans had the most flavor and were good for the plate. The rice had the least amount of flavor, but it all worked out. My wife didn't eat much of the nachos and said that it was missing something. Don't take this review too seriously because I love Tex-mex and this is not it. I think anyone coming here looking for good Mexican food here will enjoy it. read more

Insane soup. Carne en su jugo is 10/10, so flavorful and so much meat. As someone going to the gym after this was a perfect protein packed meal! I'll be back for this. This place is AMAZING! The caterer for my nephew's wedding failed to show up and in a very short turnaround cranked out delicious food for all 150 guests with even vegan and vegetarian options. This place saved the day! The caterer failed to show for my sons wedding . We ran across the street, asked what they could make quickly for 150 people! We came here on a tip from a friend who dines here occasionally. For starters, the menu here is enormous. They've got four full pages of authentic Mexican dishes to choose from. I'm a pretty decisive guy that tends to go with familiar dishes, but decided to be a bit adventurous here, and tried their Hawaiian sandwich. Can't say I've ever had one, and now that I have, will be coming back for more. No side needed, the sandwich itself was very filling. I guess my drink was my side, a large glass or horchata. The restaurant is tiny but very cute. They did have a fly that died on the hot sauce bottle but it's summer and I'm Mexican so nothing new. Lol. It was still very cute with clean bathrooms. They serve milkshakes although I didn't try one. The waitress was quick and the food got there quickly. My fiance loved his eggs and the sauces on them. Although he liked the spicier red better than the green which had a hint of lime. The tacos were crunchy and meat cooked well but the rice had no seasoning although it was fluffy. The first thing I do when I walk into a restaurant is go to restroom and wash my hands. If the restroom is dirty, I wonder how clean they keep their kitchen where they prepare our food and in some cases I just leave the restaurant. This restaurant was very clean, including the restroom. The servers were very welcoming and friendly. The server brought out fresh chips and 4 different types of salsa. All were delicious. I ordered a steak torta which was excellent. The bread was nice and soft and slightly toasted. The steak was tender and very good. We also tried the steak and al pastor tacos and they were also on point. Once we sat down at a table we were completely ignored, while others around us and who walked in after us got service. We tried to politely ask for service to order our food and we were deliberately ignored. We ended up having to walk out. Do not support a business that is homophobic. I drove by this place accidently and was craving some tacos for lunch time during work. Luckily this showed up as the closest distance to me, so I decided to give it a try. Prior to reading any reviews, I pretty much went in here blindsided. Luckily I went in on a Monday and when asked if they had any specials for the day, they showed me a list of $1 tacos! Every taco is $1 besides the tongue and dry steak on Mondays. If they aren't $1, they're $1.69, I believe. Which isn't bad either. I bought 2 just to try, the al pastor and tripas with cilantro & onion. Soo yummy! They're a little on the smaller side compared to other tacos I've had, but you can't beat the price and the flavors. 2 was fulfilling for me, I probably could've had 3 :). There are plenty of Mexican food in Aurora and this is just one more option. The restaurant is located downtown and is actually pretty big and has lots of seating. The food here was pretty good. One of my favorite soups is the Caldo de Res (beef soup) and they offer it here on Wed. and Thur. For $7, it comes with rice, tortillas and a side of fresh cilantro and onions. The soup here is good. The tortillas were gross for some reason. Maybe it was a bad batch. Great horchata, beans and rice. The sope de rajas con queso was really good too. The outside was nice and crunchy and the inside soft. The sopes are thick and filling. Food here is great. Always fresh and tastes amazing. The only problem with this place is the price gouging. Since the COVID. They raised prices nearly 45% on all their food. Our normal order is $43 total. Today it was $61. They also didn't honor their 10% discount for Wednesday and Friday. We won't come back again. There are more than 50 other Mexican spots nearby that treat customers better. We also called after to figure out what it was and the lady was being super rude. We literally try to support small local business but hate when they act like this and price gouge. read more
