Service was quick. I got three tacos: lengua, al pastor, and asada. The lengua was VERY good, nice and tender. The asada and al pastor were a bit tough, but, overall they had great flavor when I added the squeeze of lime. Well, I just went to wash clothes next door to this place and decided to get chicken tacos. First of all, the employees were NOT wearing their masks at the this restaurant. I ordered 1 dorado (hard shell) which was excellent but could've have used more toppings, and then I ordered 2 soft tacos, and medium horchata which looked more like a small. Anyways, The two soft tacos Were a tasteless complete disaster!!! I ordered it to go, and when I came back to sit down at the wash House, I opened up the wrapped soft tacos and it looked like they just threw ingredients together and slapped it on a tortilla and mushed it all together. The tortillas were awful! They were the worst tortillas I have tasted. I think they use white corn tortilla. It was definitely NOT milagro brand or homemade. The horchata was ok. The salsas were ok too. Needless to say I've had better tasting tacos in Batavia... at Taqueria Sazon! I recommend going there because their food is way better! Plus, they have amazing Margaritas!! Excellent steak tacos, cooked to order! Seasoned just right served with cilantro and onion, green hot sauce and limes. Two served on warm shells hit the spot! Steak was small & cubed; bite size just like I enjoy and there was minimal fat (which I like to bite into a lil steak fat) that gives good flavor. At around noon when I stopped in, there was a nice balance of patrons eating in and carry-out customers. I was in the area for the new UPS location that recently relocated from Rte 34. Some of the 5 star ratings seem made up. Food is alright when they can get it right, typically every time we order our food is wrong. Then when we asked for them to fix it, they scrape everything off and give me the same food back sloppily put back together. Management gets frustrated, then proceeds to give attitude the remainder of the visit. I do not recommend this restaurant, los Comales or Jalisco tacos would be better substitute for Mexican food and are more willing to please the customers. Restaurant atmosphere is shady, almost seemed rushed, restrooms are dirty. Delicious and very authentic. My son and I often get take out from here while doing laundry a few doors down. The chips and salsa and guacamole are delicious. My brother and I each got 3 hard shell tacos--2 beef and one carne asada. We received soft shell tacos. The carne asada ones were only okay, and the beef tacos tasted like they had no seasoning AT ALL. We were so disappointed with our food that didn't end up eating it and chose to go somewhere else. We also ordered chips and queso and were given the queso, but no chips. Also, the queso looked and tasted just like stadium nacho cheese--very basic and nothing like how a Mexican restaurant's queso should taste. This is a hole in the wall gem. ( By the Jewel) Arturo the owner has made some changes in the recent past. He makes his own tortillas which add more flavor and texture to the tacos. I prefer the Tacos Pastor. ( He makes the spit of pork himself too.) I have never had a bad meal at this place and it is super reasonably priced. Fast service and food. Nothing clever to say here, and no need to. Been coming here for many years, and never a duff meal. Never screwed up an order. Never had to wait long for my take-out order, even when the place was slammed. Their red and green salsas they throw in the bag are exemplary. But here's the tip! If you dig HOT, and I mean Yellow-Jacket sting on the Tongue hot. Go over to the little buffet bar thing adjacent to the kitchen window. It's not a buffet, but a little stand with condiments. You gotta have condiments with Mex food. Look for the yellow-beige stuff with Orange shards in one of the trays. (there are also Radishes, and Cucumbers in other bins) This is the elusive "Garnish" I was introduced to by the Siren Waitresses at Lalo's years ago. When I asked them what the Spanish name of this incendiary preparation was, I got a blank stare. " 'Garnish' is what we call it." said the assembled Marias, much to my chagrin. I've asked for "Garnish" at countless Mex joints, and have gotten a plate of parsley, a leaf of lettuce, and I won't be surprised if I get a tiny paper umbrella one of these days. But NEVER the real deal. Imagine my surprise finding again here. What "Garnish" is: Thinly sliced spanish onion and slivered habañero chiles in a watery creamed dressing, that may or may not have some vinegar in it. Also a smattering of what seems to be Mex Oregano and other herbs (but not much). There must be some synergy between the chiles, onions and vinegar that ramps up the heat factor. I can withstand Hot food well. I'm a big fan. But "Garnish" is like a napalm lozenge. With outstanding flavor. I mix it in my Guacamole, I put in on my Tacos. I cry like a whimpering little bitch, all the time reaching for more. There are no covers for the little styrofoam cups on hand to put your condiments in, so while you're waiting for your take out, go grab a cup, and hand it to the attendant as you pay your bill, they will wrap it up in tin foil. (I know it's stupid, I know it's not the case, but each time I bring "garnish" home, I expect the Styrofoam to be melted or degraded. It's a slight neurosis, but I laugh at it.) the epilogue: I've asked each attendant there what they called the preparation I call "Garnish". I got blank stares. They did NOT say "Garnish". In fact I got shrugged shoulders and blank stares just as I got at Lalos. I looked to the apparent Boss-guy and HE didn't have anything to say-he shrugged his shoulders again and said "Habañeros?" It has been a while since I have had some real Mexican food (Don Jose's - Montclair, CA, last visit 2011, my hometown Mexican food destination). Anyhow, I'm surprised I have lived less than a mile from this place for 8 years and just stumbled into it now. I've wasted a LOT of time on either BAD or "so so" places over the years. Aranda's is the real deal. I got the combo platter (chicken tostada, ground beef/bean/cheese burrito, and shredded beef hard shell taco). No black beans (because as previously mentioned... this is a REAL Mexican restaurant). The kids tried horchata for the first time. 3 out of 4 loved it (my oldest was being stubborn). Yummy homemade salsa = check. Spicy, medium & mild homemade sauces = check. Telenovelas blasting on the overhead T.V. = check. The food was fresh, fast, and CHEAP. WE ate very well (5 of us) for $27 bucks (that includes tip). And we have leftovers in the fridge. read more

Very good menu, reasonable prices at this small strip mall place. I had their combo plate or tortas, taco and burrito. Being my first time here, I stood and looked up at the menu posted on the wall and was trying to decide what I wanted when one of the kitchen staff came from behind and asked if I had any questions and suggested trying the combo above. I ordered each one with steak and told them easy on the tomato's, which they did. Had a coke (in can), no fountain service here. He said they'd bring it out to me and not worry about paying until I was done eating. I have to say, my tortas was excellent, just the correct amount of steak, lettuce, tomato. Rice was moist and the beans...the beans just melted when I took a bite. Taco was double wrapped in soft flour shell. I should have asked if they had corn. Shell was a little too soft but not enough to lower the rating by a star. Burrito was good sized, hot and stuffed with enough steak to be a very good value. I didn't order chips and salsa so I can't comment on those. Worth the visit if you're in the area. read more

We moved to the Oswego area about 8 months ago and our favorite go to restaurant is Arandas Tacos. Normally my husband and I order the nachos as an appetizer. You can definitely split them between a few people. Sometimes we will order them and the one combo platter, other times we order them and two meals and take the leftovers home :) The combos are great because you can try a few different things and get rice and beans. I order at least one tamale because I am addicted!! They are so moist and delicious, definitely the best I've had in a long time!!! I would describe Arandas as fast, delicious, and cheap. The salsa was good, not spicy in any way though. The horchata was like liquid ice cream...good, but sweet. The tacos were fantastic, well except the pastor which was extremely dry and hard. I loved the tongue and steak tacos with a good dose of verde sauce and fresh lime juice...oooow wee, yummy! We went on a Friday night at 6:15 and we had three available tables to choose from (out of about 14 tables). By the time we were wrapping up around 7:15, there was a line out the door for to-go orders and every table was taken. I loved their food and they got rid of a rude waitress that used to be there all the time which is great but these past few months they have been dropping the ball with their food. I usually get the steak tacos but lately I got a lot of nerves with my meat which are inedible. I can pick through them but then I barely have any meat left. The place can also get cramped so most of the time I order to go, if not, I end up in the back tables; smelling the bathroom in the back throughout my entire meal.
