I'm really sad I have to leave this review. I used to love this place, but today's interaction with them really left a bad taste in my mouth. I had ordered 7 al pastor tacos, and after getting home, I realized they only gave me 4. On top of that, they charged me for lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream, which they never gave me. When I called them to refund me for the incorrect charge, they asked me to come back for the refund. When I did, they made me feel like I was the liar, and questioned what I said I actually received. Pork burrito: Contains an interesting mixture of saucey pork and peas and rice and lettuce. It was not spicy at all, a bit messy but solid burrito and definitely filling. Tortilla was good but not that super fresh tortilla you can find some places. 4/5 Chicken burrito: Although it *was* authentic I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken burrito. The chicken was that diced, not the white meat but not the dark meat kind of leftover chicken. Inside was rice, tomatoes, lettuce and although I ordered it with the red sauce it didn't taste super saucey or flavorful to me. My burrito was also ripped - oddly enough - so they didn't grill it for me. I think the better bet at this place is to do the beef or pork dishes. 3/5 Torta: Super duper enormous and very generous with the avocado on this pork torta. The bread was puffy and fresh, and was literally like a loaf of bread you would get at the supermarket bakery, it was so large. 5/5 Carne Asada Burrito Dinner: Came with a side of tasty and interesting (seriously interesting! They were seasoned with something that made them red) refried beans and a little side of rice with peas and solid seasoning as well. This burrito was definitely the best grilled of the bunch - and also the most expensive. However, it was also the best enjoyed burrito. 5/5 Ordered from Doordash during summer quarantine months. I wish they would add a shrimp burrito! They have it for shrimp cocktail already they should just sling some of those in a burrito :) read more

Unfortunately I don't recommend the food here at all. I purchased two steak tacos, beans and rice. All were extremely dry, except for the beans. The tacos tasted as if they had been sitting out for hours before I came, and the rice was dried out as well. Ended up throwing half of the meal away because it was just not edible. The tacos are not that great. I mean for the price you get "eh ok" tacos. The steak meat is bland and just not good. The al pastor is weird and the rice has no salt. The service is great! This place was great! The food was delicious and the service was extremely friendly. My favorite was the horchata, which tasted like homemade horchata from Mexico. I only wish that they would have more vegetarian options for us veggies out there (veggie tortas, tacos, burritos, etc.) The place itself was clean and welcoming. The service is very friendly and they are very happy that you came in. The horchata was very good and we love that they grill the burritos. The table salsa is smooth and delicious. Enchiladas verdes really tasty with a charred pepper sauce to die for. I have been here at night for take out and sat in for lunch. Rice is so so but the received beans are better than anyone else around. We only go here for mex in Aurora, the best!!! read more

To be fair The review is simply on the experience as I didn't even eat there. I saw reviews and was excited to stop in as I was in the area and had a craving for menudo on a Saturday morning. I moved to Aurora from Chicago about ten years ago, and ever since then, I've been trying to find my go-to Mexican restaurant. You'd think Aurora would have an abundance of great Mexican food, but I haven't found a restaurant that just nails all of my favorite dishes, until I happened upon Hacienda El Dorado. The food is amazing. The chicken fajitas are always perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and I love they add grilled tomatoes. The chorizo tacos are by far my favorite street taco. The staff is super friendly and seems to want to get to know their customers. Hacienda El Dorado has filled a void in my life. I love the Chicken Tamales from this place. Driving out of the way is no problem. The corn meal is light and has a really nice corn flavor. The shredded chicken meat is lightly season leaving your mouth a nice warm feeling. The recipes are from the owner's family making it their own special food from them to you. I am not sure what the other food tastes like because I just get the Tamales. I hunger for their tamales. I always buy a dozen to go. I share some with friends and the rest are mine! Came here because I wanted to see what was all the hype about these $1 tacos. Well you get what you pay for. The chips you get when your seated were thick and tasted like oil no taste, salsa was bland they could change that up. Chorizo tasted weird and like it had been sitting in the fridge too long. Alpastor was okay, the seasoning wasn't great just average. The new management has to step it up a little more. Other than that the place was clean and has a lot of tables. read more
